Seeing the smile fading from my face, Luca figures my mind is otherwise occupied. He flips his body and turns to me with his head pillowing on his forearm.
The white petal slips from his cheek and falls into the embrace of the grasses and foliage. Sadly by the next moment, it is taken and sent away by the wind, as if it was never here… Unnoticed, unappreciated, unremembered.
"Aletris…" in concern Luca calls out to me in a soft voice, "What is in your mind?"
The optimism and vibrance I only started to build in my mind and heart crumbles in a second. In substitution, there is only despondency when I decide to come clean with Luca, "You thought I should talk to him and get my answers…" and in fact, "I did."
