"Do you see now? This is the demonic beast the Witch Queen has been nurturing!"
"She's not human, she's a Demon!"
The middle-aged man with shoulder-length black hair turned to the terrified crowd and roared.
"Today, I will force this Demon to reveal her true form and show you her true face!"
He formed a hand seal, and a surging aura radiated outward.
Roar!
The Ancient Demonic Beast, awakened from its slumber beneath the lake, emerged with its eight serpentine heads. Each head was the size of a house, its jagged teeth and crimson, blood-reeking jaws enough to make one retch. Its obsidian scales gleamed like indestructible armor. This was the legendary Ancient Demonic Beast, sealed away by Nüwa herself, a creature of unparalleled power and terrifying abilities.
Just then, a figure shot into the sky, dragging a long, serpentine body behind her. Her delicate face was etched with worry, her eyes brimming with concern.
In mere breaths, the serpent-bodied figure reached the man.
"Bai Yue, you've gone too far! How dare you awaken the Water Demon Beast?!"
Bai Yue gazed up at the woman in her true form, a sinister smile twisting his lips. "Demon, you've finally revealed yourself!"
"I'm not a Demon! I'm a Descendant of Nüwa!" Lin Qing'er roared.
"Though you are human, your heart is more vile and detestable than any demon!"
"Enough talk. Let's focus on dealing with this Water Demon Beast," Bai Yue said calmly, completely ignoring Lin Qing'er's furious outburst.
He was a rational man, relentless in pursuing his goals. To seize control of the Nanzhao Kingdom, the Descendant of Nüwa standing before him was his greatest obstacle.
Lin Qing'er seethed with rage, itching to crush this bastard with a single palm strike. But at that moment, the Water Demon Beast behind her unleashed a thunderous roar, churning the lake into a towering surge that surged toward the mainland.
"Damn it!" Lin Qing'er shouted, her serpentine tail whipping through the air as she charged headlong toward the beast.
Wielding the Jade Ruyi, she channeled vast spiritual power, unleashing Five Elements Spells in a relentless barrage. Yet her attacks proved utterly ineffective.
Born from water, the Water Demon Beast possessed an Undying Body as long as it remained submerged. No assault could truly kill it.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The lake erupted in violent explosions, sending geysers of water skyward. The Jade Ruyi's attacks only wounded the beast, fueling its fury and driving it to retaliate with ever more colossal assaults.
The Nuwa clan inherited the bloodline of the ancient Heavenly Serpent Nuwa, upholding her will to protect humanity and safeguard the land. They were born as the primordial Mothers of the Earth. Upon awakening their bloodline, they transformed into Demi-Gods, their power rivaling that of ordinary Kami. Yet the Water Demon Beast, an ancient Demonic Beast of immense power and eternal existence, could only be sealed away, never truly destroyed, even by Nuwa herself.
For over ten minutes, Lin Qing'er realized her attacks had no effect whatsoever on the Water Demon Beast.
Enraged, the beast unleashed a catastrophic flood that surged toward the land, submerging over a dozen towns.
The immense pressure weighed heavily on her shoulders. Beside her, the Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect watched with a cold, indifferent gaze, making no move to intervene.
"Descendant of Nüwa, sacrifice yourself!" Bai Yue declared, his voice calm and detached. "Your power is as insignificant as a grain of sand in the vast ocean. It will accomplish nothing."
Lin Qing'er remained silent, gritting her teeth as she continued her futile attacks.
"Pointless," Bai Yue scoffed. "Since you're so persistent, let this sect master witness the true extent of the legendary Descendant of Nüwa's capabilities."
Bai Yue stepped forward, riding the surging flood toward Lin Qing'er.
Her expression paled as the pressure on her intensified.
The Water Demon Beast was indestructible, and Bai Yue's cultivation was unfathomably deep. Caught in their combined assault, she stood no chance.
"Why not sacrifice yourself? It would save this sect leader the trouble of intervening."
The Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect moved with unhurried grace, his voice gentle and devoid of the usual villainous ferocity.
Indeed, Bai Yue's strength was not merely formidable, but his cultivation was also profound. His thinking was far ahead of his time, surpassing that of anyone in this era, though his misguided path had led him astray.
Lin Qing'er gritted her teeth, refusing to answer.
Suddenly, Bai Yue froze mid-stride.
Before him, as if the very air had twisted, a figure materialized.
Sword-like brows framed bright, star-like eyes. His handsome face was framed by a flowing azure Daoist robe, a longsword at his waist. Though his eyes were calm, they seemed to carry the weight of ages.
"Who are you?" the Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect asked solemnly, his hands hanging at his sides.
"Magnificent QinHeadmaster, Qin Yi!" Qin Yi replied indifferently.
"Sects of the Central Plains, what business do you have in my Miao Land? This matter is likely none of your concern!" the Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect retorted, his gaze sharpening.
Since ancient times, countless clans and cultivators had thrived on this land, adhering to a tacit rule of non-interference.
"With a descendant of an old friend here, I fear I have no choice but to intervene," Qin Yi said, his eyes radiating Sword Intent. Two beams of sword light shot forth, causing the Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect to tremble violently.
"Such formidable Sword Intent!"
His gaze instantly grew serious as he fixed his eyes on Qin Yi.
"Who is this 'Descendant of an Old Friend'? I can take you to see him."
Sensing Qin Yi's power, Bai Yue felt a surge of apprehension and wished to avoid conflict.
"Lin Qing'er," Qin Yi stated, his three words causing Bai Yue's expression to darken.
A cold laugh escaped him. "So, you're aiding the Descendant of Nüwa? Then you are my enemy!"
"Enemy? Hardly," Qin Yi chuckled. "You're merely a fly, easily crushed with a flick of my finger."
He pointed toward the turbulent lake waters, their surface roiling with frenzied motion.
Suddenly, a vast expanse of seawater trembled violently, sending countless droplets soaring into the sky. These droplets rapidly coalesced, forming a colossal sword thousands of zhang long. Etched upon its surface were Talisman Inscriptions, Roaming Dragon patterns, and the imprints of Mountains and Rivers, Myriad Things, radiating an overwhelming Sword Intent.
"You…!"
The Lord of the Moon-Worshipping Sect was stunned.
He had never witnessed such overwhelming Sword Intent, rivaling even the power of the Kami in the heavens.
"You don't even qualify to make me draw my sword," Qin Yi said indifferently, his sword-fingers flicking dismissively.
Hum!
The void trembled. Though forged from water, the colossal sword possessed a terrifying sharpness, its single strike carrying the weight of heavenly might. In an instant, it cleaved through Bai Yue.
Beneath this overwhelming blade, Bai Yue had no chance to resist.
This display alone proved Qin Yi's cultivation had reached the pinnacle of the Mortal Realm.
Since parting ways with An Yi, Qin Yi had realized his cultivation realm had reached its limit. No matter how diligently he cultivated, he could no longer improve.
He knew this was the absolute limit the Immortal First World could accommodate, a constraint imposed by its rules.
Qin Yi wasn't surprised or disappointed by the other party's departure.
Having come to this world to refine his true self and comprehend all living beings, the emotional tribulation may have played a significant part, but it was ultimately just one step in solidifying his Cultivation Realm.
Originally, he had aimed to enter the realm of emotion, then transcend it through detachment. However, the path he had discovered had captivated him, making him reluctant to leave.
Now, it was merely a parting of ways, each following their own path.
As for the domineering ways of kings, Qin Yi didn't believe the concept of love could be forced.
Among all things in the world, the human heart remains the most elusive to control.
Even with his status, he disdained to forcibly twist it. Even if he did, what remained would no longer be the original.
Entering and leaving, such is the nature of life's journey.
Whether it be the path of cultivation or becoming a mature king, this was a necessary step for him!
