"Haha, Sengoku, you're too cautious." The Vice-Admiral with a square face laughed heartily.
His expression was completely different from the solemnity of others, instead showing a curious and interested look.
To dare to slay a Tenryuubito and elevate Marine Admiral Akainu to the sky, this person is truly interesting. Garp dislikes those who cause such big disturbances, but he naturally feels indifferent about it.
"Garp, be serious, this matter is important!" Seeing Garp's demeanor, Sengoku felt a headache coming on.
"Where is that kid? Has Marine found him?" Garp asked casually.
"Not yet. Someone who can injure Akainu severely isn't easy to catch." Sengoku said solemnly.
"So you sent Kizaru to scout first?" Garp picked his nose as he spoke.
Sengoku nodded. That was indeed his plan. Kizaru was an experienced Marine and unmatched in speed due to his Devil Fruit ability. Even if he couldn't defeat that bold guy, escaping was still an option to prevent greater losses for the Marine.
Walking briskly, Sengoku turned to the Marine beside him.
"Has Aokiji departed? The situation in Alabasta isn't as severe as here!" His voice was calm and weighty, unaware of any potential mishaps involving Aokiji.
Unexpectedly, after a Marine made a brief inquiry through a Den Den Mushi, his face suddenly changed.
"Admiral, it's bad news!"
Sengoku narrowed his eyes. "Speak!"
"Aokiji has been turned into a water statue by King Ying Zheng of Qin's Nation and sunk to the bottom of the sea!" The Marine reported quickly, shock evident in his eyes.
"Water statue?!" Sengoku pupils contracted, abruptly stopping his stride.
…
At Sabaody Archipelago, the original Area 66, which was the former Marine headquarters.
Golden light suddenly refracted down, turning the sea surface golden. As the light approached the sea, it refracted again, shooting straight into the sky towards the massive sphere hanging in the sky.
In an instant, the golden light had reached below the sphere, and then radiated outwards, revealing a figure from within the golden light.
"It's truly breathtaking. To create something like this, what kind of a powerful person could it be?"
Amidst the shimmering golden light, the figure of Marine Admiral Kizaru emerged.
Looking up at the moon, which was as large as an island close by, Kizaru was awestruck.
After contemplating for a moment, he emitted a golden light from his fingertips.
"Laser beam!"
The light burst forth, hitting the massive moon, causing a burst that made a lot of rubble start to collapse. However, Kizaru frowned. The damage caused by this blow was like a drop of water in the ocean compared to the massive moon, having no impact at all.
His eyes flashed, and he slowly increased the output.
"Yasakani no Magatama (Comma Jewel of Eight Shaku)!"
His gaze turned sharp, and the faint golden light intensified, spreading out as high-energy gathered at high speed. However, just as the faint light was about to expand to its limit and burst out, Kizaru's pupils suddenly contracted.
A jet-black light shot through the back of his head in an instant, "thud," and fixed itself on the moon above his head.
Under the sunglasses, Kizaru's eyes narrowed. After scanning the Kunai nailed to the moon below, he slowly turned around and looked down.
Upon seeing the source of the attack, Kizaru's pupils suddenly tightened. He saw a figure in ancient armor, with black hair hanging around his waist, standing on the undulating sea surface below, arms crossed, coldly staring up at him.
"Oh? If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who caused that major incident at the Sabaody Archipelago, aren't you?"
"Marine? Are you here to save that magma brat?" On the surface of the sea, Madara spoke coldly. His voice wasn't loud, but it traveled clearly into Kizaru's ears.
"He's one of us Marines, after all. Being sent flying into the sky like that, it doesn't look good."
Kizaru tilted his neck as he spoke.
His gaze gradually turned sharp as well. Anyone capable of defeating Akainu had to be extraordinarily powerful. But as a top-tier fighter himself, he held his own confidence. Naturally, he wasn't afraid. In fact, he even felt a rising excitement inside, eager to test the opponent's strength.
"Then your fate will be no different from his." Madara replied coldly.
His eyes suddenly rotated, transforming into the Rinnegan. With a stomp on the sea surface, he soared into the sky.
At the same time, Kizaru narrowed his eyes into slits, his body distorting and emitting endless light, then in a blink, he transformed into a beam of golden light.
"Have you ever been hit at the speed of light, sir?"
Almost instantly, Kizaru's voice appeared right beside Madara's ear, catching him off guard. He hadn't expected this Marine's speed to be so extreme.
But through pure reflex, Madara bent his waist backward.
A brilliantly glowing right leg suddenly swept past, narrowly grazing the tip of his nose.
With high heat and the impact of light-speed, it instantly tore through the air, forming a terrifying shockwave that crashed down into the sea.
The sea immediately began to boil before exploding upward in a towering splash over a hundred meters high.
The sheer impact caused by that insane speed made Madara's pupils contract. He pushed off with his waist and quickly retreated.
"Laser Beam!"
Kizaru locked his gaze on Madara, pointing repeatedly with his right index finger.
"Zing! Zing! Zing!"
Golden beams of light tore through the air, chasing after Madara's retreating figure.
"This sneaky old man is really fast!"
Madara's Rinnegan was pushed to the limit, and even then, he could only barely dodge the onslaught.
His figure zipped and darted through the air, with each golden beam passing within a hair's breadth of his body.
"Yata no Kagami!" (Eight-Fold Mirror)
Just as Kizaru was firing off lasers, he suddenly paused, then his body zig-zagged and shot forward again, vanishing from Madara's eyes in an instant.
Madara's pupils shrank.
"Light-speed Kick!"
By the time Kizaru reappeared, his blinding golden light forced Madara to instinctively squint. In just that momentary daze, Kizaru, upside down, delivered a vicious kick directly at Madara's chest.
"Not good!"
Madara's heart jolted, as he was struck by an immense force.
His body was immediately blasted away, spinning wildly for several hundred meters across the sea before crashing into the water with a thunderous splash.
"Is it over?"
Kizaru retracted his right leg and cautiously looked downward.
His speed was tremendous, and the opponent didn't seem able to react to high-speed attacks. It didn't appear he had mastered Busoshoku Haki (Armament) or Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation). But still, anyone who could defeat Akainu wasn't going to be easy to deal with.
"Blub-blub-blub!"
Beneath the water, Madara coughed violently, blood pouring from his mouth and dyeing the sea red.
"He really is a monster!"
Madara's eyes snapped open. He glanced at his cracked chest where the kick had landed, and intense fighting spirit flared in his gaze.
In the very next second, his body trembled, and he shot out of the water like a missile.
At the same time, the shattered wound on his chest was healing rapidly.
"The people of this world… are becoming more and more interesting to me!"
"Very good!"
