The sun was rising slowly in the Philippines, casting a soft golden light over the streets.
Anastasia walked briskly toward Garbi's restaurant, her face calm but focused.
Things had changed. The business was picking up speedily. The rooftop dining area was now a beautiful spot with cozy lights, soft music, and a breathtaking view. Customers came in, day and night. The plan was working perfectly well.
But her heart was still heavy with the thought of the past that she wish to be able to run away from, but they will never let her be.
She had just stepped into her small office when her phone buzzed. It was an unknown number. She hesitated, then picked up.
"Hello?"
"Anastasia, it's me… Santiago."
Her heart skipped a beat. "Santiago? Where are you calling from?"
"Back in Sydney. I… I have something I want to talk to you about." Santiago said calmly.
"What's that, hope everything is fine with you?" Anastasia asked with her voice filled with concern.
