Chapter 574: Rinnegan and Kekkei Mōra
No wonder the Sage of Six Paths always said that the Rinnegan was a foundation, that the Kekkei Mōra was a foundation, and tirelessly reminded her that building a good foundation was the most important thing.
Ino had previously thought the old man was just being pretentious, showing off to her. Now she realized he was right!
Awakening the Rinnegan was indeed just a starting point. Madara's Rinnegan had no tomoe mainly because he didn't have a powerful tool like the Six Paths power. He could only rely on time and his own talent to grind it out. He had ground away until his lifespan was exhausted before he could barely awaken the Rinnegan.
With his intelligence, he should have been able to see that there was still a road ahead, but he had run out of time.
For Madara, his starting point was almost his end point.
Ino was much luckier than him.
But this road did seem to be very long.
If there was a one-tomoe Rinnegan, then there would naturally be a two-tomoe Rinnegan, a three-tomoe Rinnegan, and even higher levels like a six-tomoe Rinnegan, a nine-tomoe Rinnegan, and so on.
Ino was just starting out. How far was she from the end? She didn't know. She would just have to upgrade slowly!
The Rinnegan was worthy of its title as the "eye that controls life and death." After awakening these eyes, a large amount of pure Yin Release chakra integrated into her cells.
Wind, lightning, earth, water, fire, yang, and yin natures officially began to fuse.
Ino had already completed this process once. Now she was familiar with it. Except for Storm Release being only at Lv3, which looked a bit uncoordinated, there were no other major problems.
The main point of Kekkei Mōra was chakra fusion. It wasn't awakening an eye, not a one-time deal. It could be adjusted slowly in the future.
The real Kekkei Mōra was different from her previous temporary one. This time, the information transmitted from her cells was joy, the excitement of a life-level upgrade. When one person achieves the Dao, their chickens and dogs ascend to heaven. Her cells had all undergone a qualitative leap. The tearing sensation from awakening the Rinnegan had completely disappeared.
She grimaced. If she had achieved Kekkei Mōra first and then awakened the Rinnegan, she wouldn't have suffered this much. Fortunately, the result was not bad.
The ability of Togetsukyō was successfully restored. She could freely teleport to the many different dimensions she had set foot in.
Her mobility and life-saving abilities had been greatly enhanced.
Unlike Kaguya, who had seven or eight Kekkei Mōra ninjutsu stored in her bloodline, she now only had this one lonely Kekkei Mōra ninjutsu. In comparison, she was indeed just starting out.
She still needed more learning.
The Rinnegan plus the Kekkei Mōra had brought all eight of Ino's ninja stats to their maximum values.
In the realm of ninja, she had reached the limit.
Did that mean she didn't need to add points anymore? Wrong!
She took a closer look and found that "Nin," representing her understanding of ninjutsu, and "Sta," representing the amount of her chakra, had undergone significant changes.
Previously, these two stats had been raised to 10, which was considered her own limit. The number 10 was surrounded by metal threads, layer upon layer, representing a lock. Now... the locks on these two stats had been opened!
The Rinnegan was the eye of a sage. Rounding it up, she was now a sage.
A sage was different from a ninja.
The limit for a ninja was 80 points.
But she, this rounded-up sage, could continue to add points to "Nin" and "Sta."
Ino quietly activated Togetsukyō, left Rōran, and went to Kaguya's core dimension to test her Rinnegan's abilities.
Almighty Push, Universal Pull, Planetary Devastation, Chakra Absorption, and the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique—she had all the basic Rinnegan abilities.
With a thought, a golden skeletal hand and ribs formed a thin energy screen, surrounding her body.
It was generally believed that only ninja who had reached the Mangekyo Sharingan stage could use the Susanoo.
In reality, this was not accurate. The Sage had gone directly from a three-tomoe to the Rinnegan, skipping the Mangekyo path, but the old man could also use the Susanoo. He had used it when he fought Kaguya in his youth. Later, when he got older, he felt it was too flashy and didn't use it anymore.
Ino's experience was now similar to the old man's. She had absorbed Indra's chakra and a lot of visual power from Shisui and Itachi. Although she hadn't walked the path of the Mangekyo Sharingan, her Rinnegan was an upgrade from the Sharingan. The essence was still there, so she could naturally use the Susanoo.
Nagato, on the other hand, couldn't. He didn't have Indra's chakra, and the Rinnegan wasn't his own, so he couldn't use the Susanoo.
As Ino continuously poured her visual power into the Susanoo, meridians and flesh covered the skeleton, and finally, a layer of dense armor was put on. A completely golden Susanoo rose from the ground. This giant was over two hundred meters tall, with a pair of wings on its back, and long, energy-like hair. It held a katana covered in golden flames.
The golden Susanoo was much lighter to control than the Wood Golem. The Wood Golem was a solid wooden stake, and that thing was not light. The Susanoo was much more agile.
Ino controlled the Susanoo and practiced in the core dimension.
With a horizontal slash, a mountain peak was cut off. Reversing the hilt, she stabbed down at the ground, instantly creating a hundred-meter-deep pit.
She felt this move might be more effective for clearing out minions! In a real battle between masters, it wasn't very practical.
For all the chakra and visual power it consumed, the damage it caused was actually not as good as an Almighty Push.
She retracted the Susanoo. With a thought, a three-tiered paper bridge appeared in front of her.
This was her Rinnegan's unique ability: Naihe Bridge! (Bridge of Helplessness)
She could summon three random souls to fight for her.
Among them, the good would walk the upper bridge, the half-good and half-evil would walk the middle bridge, and the evil would walk the lower bridge.
The three souls appeared randomly, at least for her.
The strength of the souls varied, but to be able to sense the existence of the Naihe Bridge, the souls must not have been too weak in life.
The Naihe Bridge had another use: to summon a specific target.
When using the Naihe Bridge, a tool called the Soul-Summoning Bell would appear in Ino's hand. By ringing the bell and using the target's ashes, she could awaken the owner of the ashes from the other side and have them return to the world of the living through the Naihe Bridge to fight for her unconditionally.
She took out Urashiki's tattered clothes and looked through them. She had to say, this guy had died very cleanly. Not a single bit of ash was left!
In the future, after a battle, she would not only have to collect spoils of war but also ashes. Ino felt that her tasks were becoming more and more arduous.
The Rinnegan placed a great burden on the body. Ino had awakened the eyes herself. She could activate the Rinnegan during battle and deactivate it when not in use. Even so, the chakra consumption during the Rinnegan's activation was still a bit overwhelming for her.
After the battle at the Valley of the End, Sasuke had exhausted all his Six Paths power and had become listless. It should also be related to his total chakra amount not being enough.
Ino's 10 points in "Sta" were already a bit of a strain. There was no other way. Time to go commit some crimes!
