Chapter 288: Tsunade's Method
Under the Third Hokage's leadership, Konoha appeared very timid, but in reality, they weren't afraid of war. After all, Konoha Village had the largest number of ninjas!
What was there to fear? Konoha wasn't afraid of taking on any single ninja village.
As for Kakashi, he had always harbored some hostility towards Iwagakure.
In his established impression, his best friend Obito had died tragically at the hands of Iwagakure ninjas. Such a large rock "smashing" down on his body, crushing it.
Even when Kakashi was at his most decadent, he never gave up practicing Lightning Release. Subconsciously, there was no lack of intent to kill a few Iwagakure ninjas to avenge his best friend.
He told Sasuke about the village's affairs with Iwagakure, without even realizing it himself; this was a typical personal grudge.
Apart from Naruto, everyone present was a chunin. Once a great war broke out, they would definitely be the main force on the battlefield.
You say you won't go? Impossible.
The lazy Shikamaru, the aloof Sasuke, and the unnoticeable Shino all asked many questions about Iwagakure. Gaining a little more intelligence now might save their lives sometime in the future.
Having strolled around Iwagakure and even stayed there for several days, Ino had more authority to speak on this matter. She focused on describing the ninjutsu, taijutsu, and abilities of some famous Iwagakure ninjas.
She spoke eloquently. Hinata didn't allow her to drink alcohol and had prepared many small snacks before the gathering that the curry house didn't have. Now, timing it well, she would occasionally feed her.
Beef jerky, mmm, licked her fingers, quite tasty.
Squid rolls, mmm, tasted good!
Peeled lobster, Ino swallowed it down in a very unladylike manner.
She talked about Kitsuchi and Kurotsuchi, about the Five-Tails jinchuriki, and finally about the masked man, Obito.
Mentioning this grandson, Ino felt depressed.
She was caught off guard at the time. Now, having been back in the village for several days, she had racked her brains but still couldn't think of a way to deal with the Kamui Mangekyo Sharingan.
She just felt that she had learned a whole bunch of ninjutsu, yet none of it was useful.
The Konoha Twelve all had the temperament of teenagers; they were very interested in this kind of behind-the-scenes mastermind that only appeared in movies.
Especially when Ino said that even with her, Tsunade, and Shizune teaming up, they couldn't even touch the opponent's clothes, the strong resentment in her words was palpable to anyone.
Neji frowned in thought: "Able to nullify all ninjutsu and taijutsu? What kind of ability is this?"
Ino slapped her thigh. Hinata quickly stuffed a meatball into her mouth, and she said somewhat indistinctly, "That move of his doesn't require hand seals, consumes very little chakra, and with a mere thought, he can phase himself. What else could it be? Mangekyo Sharingan, of course!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she noticed Sasuke staring intently at her.
Why is this guy looking at me? Her mind spun, and she suddenly realized: the current Sasuke... doesn't seem to know about the Mangekyo Sharingan yet? He doesn't think the three tomoe is the limit, does he?
Sasuke asked very seriously, "The Mangekyo Sharingan you just mentioned? What does that mean?"
The other young companions also looked over; none of them had heard this term before. Among them, Naruto was the most concerned.
Ino immediately passed the buck: "...I, I'm not sure either. I heard it from Kakashi-sensei. Yes, he said it. Go ask him."
Sasuke was particularly earnest, as earnest as a pillar: "Kakashi-sensei never said these things."
Ino didn't know how much he understood, so she could only be vague: "Alright, I misremembered. I heard a senior mention the Mangekyo. It's no use asking me; I don't have a Sharingan, nor am I from the Uchiha clan. You should still ask Kakashi-sensei."
Sasuke pressed on: "Which senior was it exactly?"
"The Second Hokage!" Ino passed the buck to the Second Hokage, then pulled Hinata: "Let's go, let's go, Mom said she's making fish tonight, let's hurry back and help!"
She took Hinata and ran off in a flurry, leaving the other young companions bewildered in the wind.
The Second Hokage? Where did you meet the Second Hokage? Hasn't this person been dead for decades? You met a ghost, right!
Early the next morning.
Shizune, holding Tonton, came to find Ino, who was sealed by her quilt. She quickly washed up, grabbed two rice balls, and followed her to the back mountain.
At this time, the back mountain was teeming with people.
Anbu ninjas were deployed in layers, and the Sealing Squad and Medical Squad were on standby.
Three question marks appeared above Ino's head. What was going on?
"Ah, so sleepy! Senior apprentice-sister, what are we doing here so early in the morning?"
Shizune said seriously, "Lady Tsunade has thought of a way to deal with the masked man. Today, she wants to try it out."
Really? Tsunade is so capable! Her 10 points in "Wisdom" were no joke. As long as she stayed away from the casino, the fifty-year-old aunt's IQ was online.
Soon, Jiraiya arrived, yawning. A groggy Sakura was also called over by Anbu ninja Yugao Uzuki. The last to arrive was Tsunade.
Tsunade hadn't slept all night and looked a bit listless, but she still waved her hand grandly and said with full momentum, "Follow me!"
Ino, Shizune, a bewildered Sakura, and a large group of Anbu ninjas followed her inside. Jiraiya, lagging behind, looked left and right; there wasn't even a ghost around.
He muttered to himself, "Actually... actually, I'm the Hokage... How can this old woman be so imposing?"
Before he finished speaking, he felt a sharp killing intent from ahead and hurriedly followed the main group like an attendant.
The method Tsunade thought of was Yakumo Kurama.
Since I can't hit you face-to-face, I'll send someone to use underhanded tactics. I'll curse you to death!
Yakumo Kurama's health was very poor, so Shizune was called for physical treatment and Ino for psychological treatment. Sakura was, at best, a friend of Yakumo Kurama and could help soothe her. Jiraiya... Jiraiya was present as a mascot.
The Anbu ninjas all remained outside the door. Jiraiya, Tsunade, Ino, Shizune, and Sakura, the five of them, stepped into the room.
Yakumo Kurama's room was full of bizarre and motley things. There were spiral-shaped walls, a slide that went up when you jumped down, and a curtain that looked like a candlestick but could be passed through as if through a wall.
This room had been altered by her Kekkei Genkai, turning it into an illusory world detached from most physical laws.
Sakura had been here many times and was familiar with the place, leading the way for them.
Soon, they saw Yakumo Kurama staring blankly at a panel in the art studio.
It was Ino's first time seeing this girl. Her first impression was, wow, this girl is so gloomy! Then she sensed the chaos in the girl's heart. She didn't have enough mental fortitude and willpower to control this power, and was eventually overtaken by the power, becoming this figure who desperately endured, but the more she endured, the more gloominess filled her heart.
Tsunade asked in a low voice, "What do you think of her condition? Can you help her regain some more sanity?"
