Chapter 284: Battle Against the Masked Man
Obito's Kamui Sharingan was undoubtedly excellent.
Ino, afflicted with the "see a Sharingan, want to gouge it out" disease, was very tempted.
Unfortunately, this eye was also a right eye... Ino felt she was jinxed with right eyes. Why did she only ever encounter right eyes? Did they make it a habit to leave their left eyes at home when they went out? Would it kill them to give her one left eye?
She was about to develop an obsessive-compulsive disorder because of these eye legends.
"You are not Madara Uchiha at all! Take off your mask!" Tsunade berated sharply.
"Hehe." Obito chuckled.
There wasn't much point in pretending to be Madara Uchiha at this time. Nagato hardly believed it, let alone Tsunade. He didn't want to pretend anymore, and he couldn't pull it off anyway.
"Who I am is not important. What's important is..." He paused. "...I hope you all stay here forever!"
Obito was different from those Uchiha with brother complexes; his preferences were quite normal. His personality had transitioned directly from simple and kind to ruthless and cruel. The change in this person was truly incomprehensible to ordinary people.
This was also why the Second Hokage was always wary of the Uchiha clan. Their love was too deep, their emotions too intense. Once stimulated, they were particularly prone to extremism.
Judging from the fact that they needed the Mangekyo Sharingan of close blood relatives to complete the Eternal Mangekyo, their genes might have been deficient from birth.
Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki certainly didn't treat Obito like their own son, but from beginning to end, they never mistreated him. How did he repay them?
Kidnapping his pregnant teacher's wife, wanting to kill his teacher, slaughtering the entire Uchiha clan, and finally wanting everyone to go to a dream world with him, just because Rin Nohara, his love, was in that world.
My woman died, so I will destroy the world.
This was purely a primary school student's way of thinking. Anyone even slightly more mature wouldn't be so chuunibyou.
Ino had not a shred of goodwill towards Obito, nor did she have any intention of not disrupting the plot. Since he had jumped out, her side would naturally meet the challenge.
She was still thinking about gouging out his eyes.
"Teacher?" She wasn't confident fighting him alone, but if Tsunade and Shizune were added, the result would be different.
Tsunade said in a low voice, "Inform the Iwagakure ninjas outside. Tell them there's an enemy here."
The Sharingan originated from Konoha, and the masked man before them was the mastermind. Even if they had to argue with Iwagakure later, they absolutely couldn't take the blame at this moment. The first step was to extricate themselves.
Ino used the Body Flicker Technique to quickly move outside, only to find the ninjas responsible for monitoring them lying scattered on the ground. Kurotsuchi was collapsed in a corner, and Akatsuchi was headfirst in a water vat.
This was very strange. Ino had clearly kept her sensory abilities active, yet she hadn't noticed the disturbance so close by.
They were major suspects. The Iwagakure ninjas had placed them in a corner of the village. The terrain around the small building now resembled a small mountain hollow. Besides the twenty-odd fallen Iwagakure ninjas, there were no other witnesses.
Tsunade's attention was focused on Obito. Seeing Ino return, she asked first, "Is everyone outside gone?"
"Yes, they've all fainted." Ino was very annoyed. Obito only knocking them out instead of killing them was clearly an attempt to shift the blame.
She and Shizune drew their kunai, assuming a defensive stance. Tsunade shot out like an arrow, punching towards Obito without any frills.
Obito showed no sign of panic, phasing in advance and sinking into the ground. A stone pillar behind him, carved with ancient patterns, was broken in half.
"What a strange ninjutsu. Where did he go?" Shizune had Tonton perch on her head, looking around. Suddenly, she noticed Ino looking behind her.
None of the three had mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique, but their proficiency with the Body Flicker Technique, the foundation for Flying Thunder God, had greatly improved. Shizune dashed forward two steps to create distance, twisted her waist in mid-air to look back, raised her right arm revealing the needle launcher, and several white flashes shot out, fanning out four poisoned senbon.
"Be careful! He has the ability to phase through objects!" Tsunade shouted from a distance.
Obito phased his body, easily dodging the poisoned senbon. He had no intention of showing mercy to his former classmate, reaching out to pull Shizune into his Kamui dimension.
A shuriken shot towards his mask from the side. Obito glanced at Ino out of the corner of his eye; a kid newly graduated from the academy wasn't worth mentioning. He didn't slow down, his target still Shizune.
The next second, a dense barrage of shuriken filled his vision.
Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique?
Even chunin fresh out of the Ninja Academy knew this ninjutsu now? Obito felt a bit ashamed; he didn't have this skill when he had just graduated.
He had seen this move from the Fourth Hokage and knew he couldn't block it head-on. He immediately used phasing to dodge. Realizing Ino was stronger than the intelligence he had on her, he quickly switched targets.
He passed through the dense shuriken, becoming tangible just before launching his attack. A powerful suction force erupted from his right eye's Kamui, attempting to suck Ino in.
"Rasengan!"
"Painful Sky Leg!"
Ino was in front, Tsunade behind. The master and disciple attacked simultaneously. Obito, using his Sharingan, saw their movements in advance. He stopped Kamui, re-phased his body, full of malice, seemingly wanting to see the master and disciple attack each other.
The Body Flicker Technique, practiced hard for half a month, was still effective. Tsunade retracted her leg and retreated first. Ino dashed forward two steps and also dispelled her Rasengan.
"This guy is definitely tangible when he attacks," Ino said, offering her analysis.
Tsunade nodded: "That's right. He seemed to want to suck you into his eye just now. In that state, he must be tangible. If he wants to phase, he has to stop his attack first. This ability is very strange, but not invincible."
Shizune also added from a medical perspective: "Looking at his movements, he's definitely not an old man."
The three of them, with a word here and a word there, had analyzed Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan ability to about seventy or eighty percent accuracy.
Tsunade, Shizune, and Ino all formed hand seals simultaneously. Their speed was about the same, and the hand seal sequence was identical.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!" X3
These days, when it came to dealing with the Uchiha clan, if the Second Hokage claimed to be the most experienced, no one would object.
After learning that Madara Uchiha might be secretly causing trouble, the Second Hokage shared much of his experience with Tsunade and her disciple. The Shadow Clone Technique was a solution that wasn't really a solution.
The Sharingan is strong, and the Uchiha clan's genjutsu is even stronger. How do you deal with an Uchiha who can control the Nine-Tails and possesses the Mangekyo Sharingan?
The Second Hokage's method was not to follow the opponent's rhythm. Don't worry about what specific ability he has; first, establish an invincible position for yourself. That's the key.
The Shadow Clone Technique was originally developed to deal with the Uchiha clan.
