Chapter 54 - A Serpent's Weakening

The snake, struck by the wind blades, its mouth wide open, lunged towards Lizarius, who was still gathering lightning on his horns. Lizarius swung his tail, sending golden scales flying towards it. They struck, but just like before, they did no damage. Lizarius swung his wings, flying off before the snake could bite down. In the air, Lizarius continued to attack with golden scales, but they still couldn't pierce its defense as it shot a water jet towards him. Lizarius swung his wings, flying down to dodge the attack, landing on the ground.

With his wings still spread, Lizarius thought, It's ready. This is all the lightning I can gather. I will kill it in one strike! We see Lizarius, his horns glowing blue with crackling lightning, lower his body close to the ground. Crouching down, wings spread, glowing yellow eyes locked and focused on his target, muscles tensed like a coiled spring ready to explode, lightning crackled as he pounced. In a flash, Lizarius lunged headfirst—closing the distance with terrifying speed and force.

The snake, unable to react, had Lizarius's horns pierce through its water defense and into its flesh as a massive bolt of lightning struck it. It let out a loud roar of pain as the lightning struck it from the inside out. We see the lightning subsiding as Lizarius pulled his horns out of the snake. Blood poured from its wound, and steam rose from its body. Lizarius swung his wings, flying off its body, hovering above the lake as the snake coughed out blood but didn't fall down. Its gaze remained fixed on Lizarius.gaze remained fixed on Lizarius.

It's alive! If one strike can't kill it... Lizarius flew down and landed, beginning to release lightning again. Then I'll continue striking it until I kill it!

The snake, seeing Lizarius preparing another attack, let out a loud roar as it lunged, jaws wide open, biting down on Lizarius, who was still gathering lightning.

Lizarius swung his wings, dodging its attack. The snake slammed its fangs into the earth, then twisted with unnatural speed, its maw yawning wide to unleash a jet of water toward Lizarius.

Lizarius thought, It's still able to use that attack, but it seems weaker.

Unlike before, it hadn't drawn water from its surrounding . This time, the attack came from its own core essence, and the difference was clear—the water jet lacked force, thin and faltering, a shadow of its former strength. Its qi was being depleted.

Lizarius stretched both his wings, covering himself blocking the jet of water.
