"ROOOAR!!"
The moment Liam finished speaking, the Aerodactyl behind him let out a furious roar, clearly unable to hold back any longer.
"My future? Heh… So you mean, as long as I defeat you, you'll stop meddling in my affairs?"
Pryce frowned slightly at Liam's words, thinking them over, then lifted the corner of his mouth in a faint smile.
Liam: "…"
Liam didn't answer, but the expression on his face looked very much like silent agreement.
"Haha! That's exactly what I've been hoping for! There's no one else here to interfere, and no legendary Pokémon either. So let's have a fair battle — just as you said, a match that decides my fate! If I win, you leave me alone forever. If I lose, you can deal with me however you want — kill me, slice me up, hand me over to the League — I won't utter a single complaint!"
Laughing wildly, Pryce pulled out a PokeBall and hurled it forward with force.
"Wuuu!!"
Just as expected, he sent out the same Lapras from before. The moment Lapras appeared, it gave an angry cry, staring at Liam with eyes full of hatred.
"So it is Lapras. In that case, it's your turn — Aerodactyl!"
"ROOOAR!!"
With a thunderous roar, Aerodactyl swooped forward, gliding briefly before slamming both feet onto the island's rocky ground. Its massive wings spread wide as it lifted its head and bellowed to the sky.
"Hm? Not using your Garchomp? You're sending out a Pokémon whose typing is completely countered by mine? Are you looking down on us?"
A trace of disappointment flashed in Pryce's eyes as he glared coldly at Liam.
"ROOOAR!!"
The words instantly enraged Aerodactyl — fury burned in its eyes as murderous aura spread around it.
"Heh… it's just type advantage. Sending Aerodactyl to fight you is already your honour. Don't be ungrateful. Alright, enough with the pointless chatter! I've been waiting to give you a beating! Aerodactyl!"
"ROOOAR!!"
"Ancient Power!"
"ROOOAR!!"
The battle erupted with Liam's shout!
Several massive, earth-colored boulders materialized around Aerodactyl, and in the next instant, they shot toward Lapras with explosive speed!
"Lapras! Water Pulse!"
"Wuuu!!"
Pryce remained calm. Lapras quickly gathered a swirling blue orb in its mouth and fired it!
BOOM!
The Water Pulse burst midair into a massive waterfall-like explosion, scattering all the incoming boulders.
"Hmph. As expected of an old-generation trainer — you've got some skill. Aerodactyl! Supersonic!"
"ROOOAR!!"
Aerodactyl opened its jaws wide and unleashed piercing sound waves! The vibrating rings shredded through the watery barrier and engulfed Lapras in an instant!
"Wuuu!"
Hit directly, Lapras immediately fell into confusion, slapping its fins painfully against its own head.
"Lapras! Refresh!"
"Wuuu!"
A blue ripple swept across Lapras' body, clearing its mind instantly.
"Good job, Lapras! Now — Rain Dance!"
"Wuuu~"
Lapras raised its head and called out. Thick dark clouds rapidly rolled in overhead, and heavy rain began to fall.
"…Roar."
The rock-typed Aerodactyl shook itself irritably — it hated getting wet.
"Aerodactyl! Sunny Day!"
If Aerodactyl didn't like the rain — they would simply change it.
"ROOOAR!!"
Aerodactyl fired a glowing golden sphere into the sky!
BOOM!!
Golden spears of light tore through the clouds, vaporizing them completely. The blazing sun returned in seconds.
"Wuuu!!"
Now it was Lapras' turn to struggle — battling on land, under harsh sunlight, its stored body moisture evaporated rapidly. Sweat poured off its body in sheets.
"Lapras! Mist!"
"Wuuu!"
Pryce responded immediately. A thick white mist spilled out, surrounding Lapras — obscuring vision and slowing dehydration.
"Then follow with Confuse Ray!"
A dark, purple-black beam shot out of the mist, headed straight toward Aerodactyl!
"Aerodactyl! Agility!"
"ROOOAR!"
The bright sun dried its wings instantly. Aerodactyl shot upward in a blur, dodging the ray with ease.
"Aerodactyl! Use Supersonic to locate Lapras!"
"ROOOAR!"
Having lived its life in dim caverns, Aerodactyl had no trouble dealing with enemies it couldn't see.
It unleashed another penetrating wave of sound, enveloping the entire mist-covered area.
"ROOOAR!!"
"Found it? Good! Aerodactyl! Target locked! Giga Impact!"
"ROOOAR!!"
A brilliant white aura erupted around Aerodactyl — and it dove into the mist like a living missile!
BOOOOOOM!!
"Wuuu!!"
A violent explosion tore the mist apart. The shockwave blasted the fog away — along with the limp, unconscious body of Lapras, flung across the battlefield.
