"Fuchsia City - this is a seaside city, and I heard the beach there is a wonderful place to relax," Green said to Eddie as they rode on Charizard toward Fuchsia City. Her tone suggested she wanted to invite Eddie to spend a day or two enjoying themselves together.
"Team Rocket's situation is urgent. After we deal with their matter, we can find time to enjoy ourselves," Eddie replied. He wasn't oblivious - the woman had made her intentions clear, and it would be too dense of him to pretend not to understand.
But if he wanted to enjoy himself, he had to choose the right timing. Before the major confrontation with Team Rocket, he didn't have much time for leisure. Only after getting past the Team Rocket situation would he have some time to relax before participating in the Pokemon League.
"Hehe~~~ So we've agreed to come to this beach and have fun for a few days then," Green said, not being unreasonable. After hearing Eddie's response, she was actually quite happy.
After all, no matter what, they had agreed to have a good time when the opportunity arose, which gave Green something to look forward to.
"BOOM!!!"
Just as Green was about to continue chatting with Eddie, a deafening explosion thundered through the air.
"Oh my! That scared me - what was that?" Green was startled by the loud noise and looked toward the source with a puzzled expression.
"That's coming from Fuchsia City's beach. Moreover, that loud noise doesn't seem to be from ocean waves, but rather from a powerful Pokemon move," Eddie observed, looking toward Fuchsia City's beach where an extremely large mushroom cloud was rising.
It seemed this attack was indeed quite terrifying.
"That huge orange body - it's a Dragonite!" Green had pulled out binoculars at some point and spotted the Dragonite flying over the ocean.
"Eddie, there's something wrong with that Dragonite. Even though I'm just looking from this distance, I can sense its murderous intent. Its eyes are glowing red - could it have gone berserk?" Green felt something was amiss as soon as she saw the Dragonite and immediately reported it to Eddie.
"You don't need to tell me. I can sense it now too. It's radiating pure killing intent and has completely lost its mind. What could have happened to it?" Eddie said, his Power of Viridian making him very sensitive to Pokemon emotions.
Even at this considerable distance, Eddie could barely sense that something was seriously wrong with the Dragonite through his abilities and the Pokemon's sheer power.
Chaos, rage, destruction - Dragonite's mind was now filled with these extremely violent emotions. These feelings seemed to have no rational cause and were completely irrational.
"Let's go take a look. I can hear screaming from here. The situation on the beach must be quite serious."
"You go help with the rescue efforts. I'll go face this Dragonite."
"It looks very powerful. I suspect this will be another battle where I can go all out," Eddie said with an extremely battle-hungry smile. He certainly wasn't going there just to save people - he had his sights set on that Dragonite.
He wasn't interested in capturing the Dragonite, but rather in the massive amount of experience he'd gain after defeating it!
In Eddie's eyes, this Dragonite was essentially a huge mobile experience point source.
He was even sending Green away because he wanted to defeat it himself and claim this giant opponent alone.
Of course, from Eddie's perspective as someone with a gamer's mindset, this behavior was about monopolizing a boss fight, which was relatively normal.
But in Green's eyes, and to others who might observe, this behavior was a manifestation of Eddie being a "battle maniac."
"Oh Eddie, everything about you is wonderful, but your particular love of fighting gives me such headaches," Green said with an expression as if she were exasperated with Eddie, though her face also showed some concern.
After all, that Dragonite was obviously extremely powerful, and Eddie was planning to fight it alone, which worried her somewhat.
"Don't overthink it. Just hurry up and evacuate people so I can focus on the battle," Eddie said, wanting Green to leave quickly so he could defeat the Dragonite by himself and gain all the experience.
But in Green's eyes, Eddie was doing this to protect her and innocent bystanders. She couldn't help but think again that she had chosen the right person.
"I understand, Eddie. Please be careful," Green said seriously, using his name to show her genuine concern for him.
In the blink of an eye, while Eddie and Green were discussing their plan, Charizard brought them to the beach.
"Huh? There were no casualties?"
Although the scene was extremely chaotic and noisy, Eddie, looking down from high altitude, actually discovered that while many people were injured, no one appeared to be dead.
"Wait, is someone fighting Dragonite? Give me the binoculars," Eddie said, spotting a figure in front of the Dragonite who was constantly resisting its attacks and protecting people trying to flee the area.
Eddie suddenly felt a bit deflated. Had someone else stolen his target?
He took the binoculars from Green's hands and looked directly at the figure.
Then he saw a graceful form commanding Gyarados, Starmie, and Golduck in battle against the Dragonite.
But she was clearly no match for Dragonite and was barely managing to deflect its attacks.
"Is that Misty? Why is she here?" Eddie recognized the familiar figure immediately.
Green frowned when she heard that. Hearing Eddie call out a name that was obviously female made her immediately concerned.
"The name Misty is the same as the Cerulean City Gym Leader. Someone who can fight against such a powerful Dragonite must be the Cerulean City Gym Leader," Green reasoned after thinking for a few moments.
"But what's her relationship with Eddie?"
"Forget it for now. We can figure that out later. We need to save people first," Green decided, even though she cared about the answer, she still prioritized rescuing people.
"Eddie, please hurry over there. I'm going down to help evacuate and rescue people," Green said, taking out a Poke Ball and releasing Wigglytuff before jumping from Charizard's back onto her Pokemon.
After speaking to Eddie, she began descending to help with rescue efforts.
Green knew that quickly evacuating the crowd was the help Eddie needed most right now. Otherwise, Eddie wouldn't be able to use his full strength against Dragonite because of the civilians in the area.
Seeing this, Eddie nodded to Green. Without wasting any more words, he directly ordered Charizard to advance at full speed and rush toward the battle ahead.
