Less than two hours until dawn.
The streets of Xia City were filled with people returning from hunting and gathering outside, hurrying either to the various district offices to submit supplies, or having just submitted them, were preparing to go home.
Near the Inner City Main Hall, House No. 15
In the main hall on the first floor, Xu Ning sat at the top with scattered pupils and an empty expression, his face still holding the previous indifference and confusion.
Xia Hong stood right in front of Xu Ning, holding a piece of liver in his hand.
The liver was a deep, shiny black, pulsating slightly at a very slow rhythm, as if it still had life force, looking exceedingly strange.
There were six other people in the hall: Hong Qiaoru and three children, Xu An, and the Camp Supply Department Director Qiu Peng. Their eyes were both tense and hopeful.
