The Zhang and Liu families actually have a rather complicated relationship. Originally, the Zhang Family, being a branch of the Liu Family, could not do much but rely on the main family's power and had to provide funding to them every year.
But now, it seems some issues have arisen, and these branches appear to have some ulterior motives, primarily because the Xiangjiang Liu Family's only heir is Liu Wei!
