These potato dumplings, although unconventional, are oily and made with wheat flour, so they're tasty.
Wang Gen Sheng boiled a pot of hot water on a coal stove, used a broken lunch box as a cup, mixed hot and cold water into warm water, drank a few sips, and continued to eat the next dumpling.
The next dumpling was even more peculiar.
Tofu dumplings.
Tofu dumplings are rare but not unheard of. Qin Huai had heard about them but never tried them. However, Qin Huai could confidently say that the tofu dumplings he's heard of were definitely not the same as the ones Wang Gen Sheng had in his lunch box.
The filling in these dumplings was obviously a dish, and a famous one at that—Scallion Tofu Salad.
