Meanwhile, Daniel was at the Wilson residence, feeling guilty for hurting her. He was also trying to hide his injuries from her, so he stayed home. But being stuck there felt boring and miserable.
When he tapped on the voice message, Chantelle's bright laughter echoed through the quiet living room.
Her voice felt like sunlight breaking through heavy clouds. It warmed him in a way he hadn't expected, and he didn't even realize she was laughing at his photo.
"If you like it that much, I'll take more pictures for you," he almost said without thinking.
If Philip had heard that, he would've definitely laughed out loud. Daniel was being so overly sweet and his voice actually sounded a little cringe.
"Mr. Wilson, did you hit your head or something?" Chantelle said in a voice message, still trying not to burst into laughter.
Daniel was calmer now, but he couldn't hide how happy he was that Chantelle was reaching out to him.
