"Why?"
Blocked, Casius couldn't understand. He reached out to grasp the dark dragon snake hissing on his arm, but this creature, covered in venomous spikes, only gently flicked its tongue without harming him in the slightest, because the entity controlling it would not allow it to harm the presence before it.
"Because I look terrible now!"
The mage shrouded in a black robe stepped back, receding completely into the darkness, out of sight, but how could this escape the gaze of those present?
"Terrible?"
Upon hearing the reason for being refused approach, Casius was momentarily stunned, then the man with a firm countenance spoke without thinking,
"I don't care."
"But I do. I've never been this ugly from childhood to now, and I absolutely won't allow you to see me like this."
A grating sound, like metal being scraped, echoed unpleasantly, hard to believe that the one who made the sound was, centuries ago, a magnificent, extraordinarily talented legendary mage.
