Chapter 167 - The False Arra and the Gates of Damnation

After Malina's covert surveillance of Count Morgan, she reported her unease to Kael. Something about Morgan's earlier attack on the seemingly defenseless Arra did not add up. Unknown to them all, the Arra present in Kael's mansion was a perfect imitation. The real Arra had already been secretly teleported away before their arrival. For two days, life in the mansion appeared normal—yet an oppressive sense of wrongness lingered in the air.

Malina later confided her suspicions to Vex. "Arra" had begun behaving strangely: moments of blank staring, memory lapses, weakness resembling anemia. While concern grew in the mansion, the truth was far darker. The real Arra was imprisoned deep within a cave in Count Morgan's territory. Seaberry tortured her relentlessly, attempting to extract information about Kael and his companions' weaknesses. Arra refused to speak. A cloaked figure stood silently nearby, watching as Seaberry forced a dark control potion down Arra's throat. When Arra begged for death, Seaberry only laughed. Worse still, a demonic seed had been implanted in Arra's abdomen, swelling her body as it continuously generated dark energy to sustain Seaberry.

For an entire month, Arra cried out within her mind, calling desperately for Vex. Seaberry gained nothing from her resistance and reported back to Count Morgan, who grew increasingly irritated—especially since Kael had begun observing him from the shadows. Morgan's one unbreakable rule remained clear: his daughters, Mormor and Beauty, were untouchable. His love for them outweighed even his darkest ambitions.

One night, Vex dreamed vividly of Arra imprisoned and brutalized by an elven woman. He awoke in terror and rushed to find her in the mansion—only to witness a nightmare. The Arra before him was devouring a person in the equipment room, corpses scattered throughout the basement. When confronted, she behaved casually, as if nothing were wrong. Vex triggered the mansion's emergency alarm. Kael, Lyra, Luminor, Malina, Arden, Thorne, Amara, Zephyr, Pallas, and Elian all arrived, horrified by the carnage.

Luminor immediately raised a containment barrier, cutting off the creature's escape. At last, the truth was revealed: the Arra among them was an abomination—an entity that fed on humans and could perfectly mimic any appearance. Brown sealed its mana and dark magic, rendering it helpless. Kael instantly identified the mastermind and dispatched urgent warnings to the Guild Master and City Lord Ember. All exits in REF Territory were sealed. Ember sensed the gravity of the situation at once.

Leading one hundred knights, Ember swept through the noble districts of REF Territory. The traitor was exposed—a low-ranking noble secretly serving Count Morgan in exchange for power. Ember and her elite knights stormed the estate, but they arrived too late. The noble had already fled with his family.

Back at the mansion, the false Arra was eliminated. Kael and his companions armed themselves for war. Before departing, Kael summoned a clone disguised as a detective knight, tasking it with uncovering Morgan's illegal dealings. Moments later, Luminor activated a teleportation cycle, transporting the group directly into Count Morgan's territory. Unaware of the impending assault, Morgan's estate stood vulnerable.

Upon entry, the group split according to the estate's layout. Knights loyal to Morgan were swiftly neutralized. Then, the true defenders emerged—demon generals stationed throughout the grounds.

Pallas and Thorne faced a Rank 4 Demon General.

Lyra and Amara battled a Rank 3 Succubus General, deadly in close combat.

Zephyr and Malina confronted a Rank 7 Crocodile Demon General.

Vex and Arden engaged a Rank 6 Flame Demon General.

Elian and Luminor clashed with a Rank 8 Sky Demon General.

Kael and Brown encountered a Rank 10 Hell Demon.

When the alarm reached Count Morgan, both he and Seaberry were stunned. Morgan's fury erupted upon learning his daughters were still inside the estate. His plans to turn the king into a puppet were forced aside as he swore vengeance, promising to turn Kael and his allies into trophies of bone.

As battles raged, Kael ordered Brown to summon ten Death Knights. They joined the fight instantly, coordinating under Kael's command. Kael wielded his twin daggers in relentless assault while Brown provided devastating long-range magic. The Hell Demon matched them blow for blow, acknowledging Kael's frightening strength as the clash intensified.

Elsewhere, Kael's companions held their ground against their respective demon generals with a mix of magic and brutal close combat. Amid the chaos, Malina summoned her two A-Rank beasts and sent them to locate Count Morgan's daughters. Her orders were precise: subdue, capture, and seal them safely.

Count Morgan, sensing the shift, commanded his demons to protect his daughters at all costs as he rushed back toward the estate. The outcome of the battles remained undecided—but one truth was now undeniable.

The war with Count Morgan had fully begun.
