It was nighttime, and Neuman was eating food and hearing the talks of other soldiers and he heard about many soldiers talking about the same old things, sharing their opinions with others and talking about the final raid to the underground passage.
They were talking about how the attack will start and their return to the city after this mission. With that, Neuman was just about to leave when he heard about the children of nobles in the camp.
On how they are given preferences on everything, this thing piqued his interest and he sat down listening to the soldier talking about it. He talked about how the noble's children were given better food, that they ate the best meat every day, which was only served to them once, and how they risked their lives and fruits were given to others.
This caused some discomfort among the soldiers, but some of them just listened to it quietly and just shook their heads and comforted them, saying this is how it goes and it was meant to happen. The noble's children have many powerful armors and weapons, and they could even use magic to kill other beasts, while they could only use the normal weapons in their hands to kill them.
There was already a big margin among them, which they cannot cross, while the soldiers come here risking their lives to kill these beasts and earn money for their families, and the nobles come here for training and learning how to command the force and have fun. There is already a big difference in them.
After that the talk about the nobles continued; they talked about how badly they were treated by them and so on. Neuman was bored hearing this and just went out; after that, he went back to his tent to rest, as he had to go tomorrow too for the hunt, unlike other soldiers who were resting.
The next day, after waking up, Neuman just took his weapons and came back to the underground passage he had previously found and just went straight inside. On the way he even killed many rats and got EXP and soul points.
After entering the underground passage, Neuman looked at the dark area inside. He slowly concentrated his mind and a small fireball appeared in front of him, causing the dark passage to slowly lighten.
The small fireball was not enough to light up the whole surrounding but was enough so that he could see five meters ahead of him clearly.
Currently, that small fireball could continuously burn for two hours and if he were to attack with his magic power, the duration would decrease significantly.
He then continued to walk inside the passage, and seeing the light, some of the rats even started to come in his direction. This made things easier for him, as he didn't need to find them himself. Neuman then continued killing the rats.

In just ten minutes he has killed around twenty rats. Just as he saw the last rat, he threw the fireball that was the light source. As the fireball hit the rat, the rat's body was blasted to pieces.
If the fireball was thrown normally, then it wouldn't have caused such a thing, but this time Neuman used extra magic power to increase the power of the fireball, which caused the rat's body to blast.
This was his first time using it like this, so Neuman used more magic power. He wanted to test how the power was when he used magic and it made him much more interested in increasing his magic power.
Currently he had used around half of his magic power, then his gaze turned towards the rats that were attracted to the sound. He then concentrated in his mind; a figure started to form with fire. Slowly the figure turned into a flame dagger; it was the same size as the dagger he was currently using.
After the dagger completely formed, Neuman looked at the group of rats that were rushing towards him. He then used the remaining magic power, and then the condensed burning dagger flew to the rats at an astonishing speed. This time Neuman invested most of the magic power in the speed of the dagger, causing the dagger to streak past all the rats.
The dagger then hit the wall far behind the rats; all the rats on the way were pierced and killed directly.

Just as he got the level up, he felt his magic power recover in a moment; with a single flick, he again formed a fireball to light up the surroundings. Ahead of him, he saw a trail formed from the blood of the rats.
His burning dagger has killed the rats in a single line and cleared most of them. There were still some rats that were not in the group and were still coming to attack him.
Neuman just used his spear to kill the rest of the rats and once again cleared his surroundings. After leveling up his stamina and magic power, both have recovered, and it didn't take too long before another wave of rats came rushing towards him.
Neuman used the same strategy and continued killing the rats. Two hours later, Neuman came out of the passage and without wasting time, he went back to the camp to eat food. He could have used some soul points for the food, but he didn't want to use them for now and he wanted to take some rest too.
After he got back to camp, he waited for the lunch to be served, during which he was told that there would be a small holding about tomorrow's raid and the commander would be giving a small speech.
He then ate the lunch and went to hunt the rats again and gained five more levels. It was because as the night was approaching, the rats became much more active and with the help of his new skill, it became much easier to hunt those rats in groups.
