Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Activation Spell

In Randolph's chaotic mind, he hesitated. If Randolph fought with full strength, there might be no peace in the future. But if Randolph did not act now, those who knew the truth about the artifact would continue to target it.

The deep sound of gunfire echoed again amidst the chaos.

In an instant, Jacob's head exploded, his body collapsing to the ground, leaving splatters of blood and bone fragments scattered. A moment of silence filled the air.

"Jacob!" screamed a woman, who turned out to have a special connection with Jacob. The woman appeared to lose control upon seeing her lover fall so horrifically.

However, just after the woman's scream was heard, another gunshot rang out, duller and deadlier. The woman's head also shattered, split by a bullet that came so swiftly.

"Who is this?" one of them shouted, confused and frightened.

"There's a sniper!" another yelled, panicking.

"Scatter! Scatter!" ordered a man, and in that instant, those who had been fanatical now fled in all directions, seeking shelter.

But soon after, the sound of heavier gunfire was heard. It seemed the bullets were merciless.

As if bullets from a Gatling gun were falling incessantly like a rain of metal. Before the remaining attackers could comprehend who was attacking or from where the shots were coming, their heads shattered into pieces, their bodies collapsing lifelessly.

Corpses lay sprawled, flesh and blood scattered on the ground, creating a horrific sight. The entrance of the chapel was filled with chaos.

Randolph stared with a grim expression, as if swept away by a wave of emotions. He felt a great power targeting him.

However, despite waiting a long time inside the chapel, no one came to challenge him. Instead, the sound of sirens grew closer.

Quickly, Randolph bit his lip and stroked his bag, a sign that he was preparing himself. His seemingly fragile body, yet full of hidden strength, leaped agilely and shattered the attic window before jumping out.

After Randolph left, another figure emerged from the shadows—Lance. He simply smiled as he watched Randolph's retreating back.

Lance deftly collected Randolph's belongings, ensuring everything went smoothly and without obstruction.

Gazing at the sea of blood outside, Lance calmly waved his hand. Five Yin Thunder appeared, melting away the remnants of blood and flesh in an instant. Before the police arrived, Lance opened a portal and vanished without a trace.

As for Randolph returning to Spain, Lance felt no need to worry. With his long life experience, Randolph surely had ways to manage his own journey. With the help of Kyōka Suigetsu's power, Randolph would not doubt anything that happened, including the trip to Ireland.

As long as Randolph buried the fake staff, his memories would automatically be erased.

Randolph continued to work quietly as a university professor, and it was highly likely that Lance would not have the opportunity to connect with Randolph again in the future. Randolph's decision to remain in the shadows had created a distance that was hard to bridge.

It was still early morning when Lance returned to his villa in New York. The fresh morning air seeped through the window, providing a refreshing chill, even though the inside of the house felt warm and cozy.

Nancy was still deep in sleep, undisturbed by Lance's arrival. Seeing Nancy sleeping peacefully, Lance chose not to wake her. Carefully, he moved to the kitchen to prepare food. Lance's hands moved skillfully, preparing a simple yet delicious meal, a routine he enjoyed after a long day.

After dinner, Lance went up to their bedroom. He gently leaned against the fragrant Nancy, feeling warm under the thin blanket. In the peaceful atmosphere, Lance reached for the book "Anthology of Eighteenth Century Charm" from the bedside table. The pages felt cool in his hands, yet contained wonders that captivated him.

The magic in the Harry Potter world was not as bad as many imagined, although it could sometimes be overly indulgent. However, there were many extraordinary and delightful things to discover there. The spells in that world offered limitless possibilities for exploration, even for everyday matters like cooking.

Lance had previously read "Standard Spells." The book was a foundational text taught at Hogwarts, and although the spells within were simple, it provided a deep understanding of the basics of magic. While different from the magic system in this world, many of its fundamental principles remained relevant and easy to grasp.

However, "Anthology of Eighteenth Century Charm" was far more complex and profound. This book was intended for wizards who had reached a certain level of expertise. One spell that caught Lance's attention was the "activation spell." It sounded extraordinary, yet in reality, this spell was commonly used in the daily lives of wizards.

In the Harry Potter world, the activation spell allowed a wizard to make equipment function automatically. While it did not animate inanimate objects, this spell enabled tools to repeat certain activities flawlessly, such as when a wizard cooked, allowing knives or pots to work automatically without needing to be held continuously.

Lance thought this spell would be incredibly useful. He imagined how kitchen equipment for chefs would greatly benefit from the activation spell, making everything run more efficiently. With a little practice, Lance could save a lot of time. All of this could be achieved with just one spell to activate the kitchen tools, while Lance could enjoy his cooking without hassle.

However, even though magic offered such conveniences, food ingredients still had to be prepared manually. Magic could assist with many things, but it could not create from nothing.

In addition, there are many other small spells that caught Lance's attention, such as the Trace-Free Extension Spell, Permanent Attachment Spell, Copying Spell, Forgetting Spell, Repair Spell, and Cleaning Spell. All of these spells seem simple, yet they can be very useful in various situations.

Meanwhile, the world outside of Harry Potter indeed offers different wonders, but nothing can match the comfort of this magical world. Here, wizards can do almost anything without fear of unexpected consequences.
