By noon, everyone in the company was still talking about Clara, and the Montclair stock was plummeting in a way that made Mila's heart bubble that she almost wished it would lead to the company falling the same day.
Inside her office, she could hear voices and shouts; most belonged to shareholders and investors trying to hear from Andreas, but the man was too distraught to even go home and meet his wife. He locked himself up in the office while his two children tried to stop the crowd.
"It's a feast for them," Lacie said to Mila. "That man has always looked weak to me. I wonder why he tried to start acting tough."
Mila smacked her tongue. "Isn't it obvious? His wife gassed him up, and now it'll cost him his blood pressure." She chuckled to herself, crossing her legs on the table.
"I said the chairman will talk to you when he is ready. Any action you take now will be a threat," Jaime's voice was heard.
"Can someone bring me a non-offender I can speak to?" an investor backfired.
