Both you and Chifuyu sit in the room with Baji, silently sitting on the floor. Baji sighs and places his manga down and looks at the both of you.
"Why are you both here again?" Baji sighs.
"We just wanted to see you Baji-san." Chifuyu softly says, smiling at Baji. Baji narrows his eyes and eyebrows, staring down at Chifuyu.
"When do you start physical therapy?" You softly ask looking up at Baji. His eyes slowly drift towards yours.
"I don't know... I think my mom said Monday or something..."
"Isn't your friend leaving Sunday? Tomorrow's Sunday..." Chifuyu asks, looking at you. Your eyes widen and you slowly look back at Chifuyu.
"Yeah... You're right..." You slowly say.
"What?" Baji looks at the both of you confused. You slowly look at him and lean back a bit, resting your weight on your hands.
"Eli is moving to Osaka... so he wants to hang out one last time." You sigh.
"Osaka..." Baji slowly says.
"You should really get a phone... It's hard to contact you when you don't have one." Chifuyu softly says looking at you.
"Every time I get one it breaks..." You quietly say.
"Then don't break it." Baji huffs as he lays back and picks his manga back up.
"Heheh... Well-" Chifuyu looks at you and smiles. "You should still get one... just in case- like- something happens, you know."
"Yeah..." You slowly nod.
"You're never home when people need you so it's never really easy to contact you." Chifuyu adds.
"Just get a phone..." Baji comments, staring down at you. You slowly nod.
"Fine- I'll get another one." You sigh.
"Want me to come with you when you get one? Maybe after we can go get something to eat together~" Chifuyu bubbles leaning towards you. Baji furrows his eyebrows and glares at Chifuyu.
"Okay." You sooth, smiling back at Chifuyu.
"Oi... can you both go somewhere with that- you know... it's... late." Baji huffs.
"Yet you're still awake." Chifuyu chuckles.
"It gets boring not being able to walk... sleeping all day doesn't do shit but keep me up all night." Baji sighs.
"I can go buy you more manga's..." Chifuyu suggests as he stands up.
"Nah- I'm starting to get tired of reading..."Baji groans, tossing the manga to the side. "It's starting to hurt my head..." He sighs.
"Oh..."
"When I can walk again... let's go to the arcade." Baji sooths, looking at both you and Chifuyu. Chifuyu smiles and nods.
"Alright."
Chifuyu unlocks his front door, letting you in.
"Is your mom never home?" You softly ask.
"Mmm... when I was younger, she was home a lot... But she works a lot more so she's not home as much..." He slowly answers.
"Ah..." You say, slowly nodding. "You know... I can just go home..."
"I know... but it's late and I don't want you walking home this late." He sighs. "I'll fix a spot for you to sleep..." He says pushing his door open.
"You know..." You start. Chifuyu looks at you as he watches you walk into his room. "You seem to worry about Baji a lot." You softly say, smiling back at Chifuyu. Chifuyu slightly smiles as he pushes his door closed. "Like you were always visiting him when he was in the hospital... and you're always doing things for him... like get him manga's or food-"
"Well... I guess- it's because I respect him a lot." He softly chuckles.
"Really?"
"Mhm..." He hums, grabbing something from his closet. He grabs a heavy blanket and throws it down on the ground. "I will sleep on this, and you can sleep on the bed." He says, motioning towards his bed.
"No... it's okay. I will sleep on the giant quilt." You softly say.
"No."
"Yes."
"I don't want you to sleep on the ground..." He sighs.
"I don't want you to sleep on the ground..." You reply.
"Yuki-"
"Chifuyu-"
Chifuyu sighs and lays the heavy blanket out and lays down on it.
"See taken... guess you've got to sleep on the bed." He says motioning you to lay in the bed. You stare at him with a relaxed expression on your face.
The both of you lay in the dark room. You sigh, slowly looking around the room.
"I have a question..." You whisper.
"What's your question?" He whispers back.
"Do you believe in something like an alternative timeline?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like... everything that's happening now... but different... I think."
Chifuyu lays quietly staring up at the ceiling. You peak your head out from the bed to look at him. His eyes slowly drift towards yours. You slowly fall down beside him and sigh.
"Yeah... I believe in stuff like that..." He softly says. You slowly turn your head to look at him. He looks back at you.
"Same..." You slowly reply.
"I am happy with this timeline though~" Chifuyu softly bubbles. He turns to his side and smiles at you. "Cause we are friends in this one..."
Your eyes relax and your chest starts to hurt. You slowly look down then back up at Chifuyu whose eyes are closed. You slightly smile and turn to your side, falling to sleep.
The next day in the late morning, both you and Chifuyu are looking in different stores while you wait for your phone to be set up. You pick up a packet full of poke cards. You read the back of it and sigh as you place it back down.
"Do you like to collect those?" Chifuyu chuckles after you sigh.
"No... I was just curious that's all." You furrow your eyebrows and slowly turn your head towards Chifuyu. "I know we aren't supposed to get involved with Toman... but I still can't help but wonder what Kisaki's plan is..." You sigh.
"Huh?"
You slowly look back at the poke cards, resting your hand on the shelf.
"I mean... What's his motive...? If he's the one behind all the shit that's happening then- what's the reason?" You softly say, looking back at Chifuyu.
"Mmm... so- what do you plan on doing?"
"Huh?"
"Knowing you... you're going to get yourself involved in some sort of trouble again to get an answer... am I right?" He chuckles as he smiles at you. You furrow your eyebrows and look away, smiling.
"Pft... whaaaa- noooo..."
"Well... if that's what you're going to do then let me help you." He sooths.
"Huh? But-"
"We are partners- right? So, we work together." He interrupts. You softly smile at him and nod.
You slowly make your way back to the bakery after splitting ways with Chifuyu. You stare down at your phone feeling a loss sense of understanding. All this is happening for what reason? Takemichi isn't around... Kazutora killed Mikey's older brother in a way that didn't happen in the manga... and Kisaki... is he still after Hina or does he have another motive? I thought I knew what I was doing but nothing is the same... It's almost like a different story.
You turn the corner to the bakery and stop when you see someone standing outside the bakery. You furrow your eyebrows and squint your eyes feeling very unsure to continue walking. You slowly walk backwards, still staring at the person wondering who they are. They slowly turn their head, and both your eyes meet. It's Eli. You quickly walk towards him with the feeling of relief.
"Hey." You softly say, waving at Eli.
"Hey." He bubbles back.
"I'm sorry... You're supposed to be leaving tonight... right?" You ask. Eli slowly nods and smiles at you. You look at the bakery to see people in there. "You know... you didn't have to wait outside for me..."
"Yeah, I know. Your grandmother said you weren't home, and I thought I could wait for you to get here so I waited outside." He softly answers.
"Oh..."
"Want to hang out now?" He asks with a smile on his face.
"Yeah- but where... do you wanna go?" You question. Eli crosses his arms and furrows his eyebrows as he looks around.
"I would suggest the arcade, but I don't have the money for that. And there aren't any interesting movies out right now... Soooo... Hm..." He looks away and furrows his eyebrows. Almost looks like he's thinking about something. He quickly looks at you and smiles. "Do you like to go bowling?"
"Bowling? I guess?"
"You guess?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah... Do you like to go bowling?" You question.
"Yeah... I love bowling!" He says with a smile on his face. "SO, Let's go bowling." He bubbles.
"Okkaaay..." You slowly nod. He furrows his eyebrows and squints his eyes at you.
"You okay?"
"Yeah... Why wouldn't I be?" You ask.
"Hmm.. Okay then... Let's go!" He says, grabbing your hand and pulling you with him.
You sit down on a chair, putting your bowling shoes on. Eli is looking at the different bowling balls and sighs, looking back at you. You slowly look up at him feeling out of place for some reason.
"If the bowling ball is heavier... Will it knock down more pins?" He asks looking at you.
"No...?" You say in a confused tone.
"You sure?" He asks.
"Mhm..." You hum as you look back down at your shoes. He stares at you with a blank expression on his face. You slowly look back up at him when you notice him staring at you.
"If you're flying through the desert and your boat has a flat tire then what should you have in your pocket...?" He asks.
You look at him with a confused expression on your face.
"What?"
"The answer would be blue because ice cream doesn't have bones." He blankly says.
"What are you talking about?" You ask.
"If a one legged dog was racing a homeless man on a wheelchair... what color should a crab be on a pineapple on a blue moon...?"
"HUH?"
"The answer is sand... because peanuts are green." He listlessly says.
You stare at him with a blank expression on your face. He slowly starts smiling at you which makes you smile.
"Are you okay?" You ask trying not to laugh. He laughs and turns around grabbing a bowling ball.
"I just wanted to see you smile." He chuckles.
"Did you make those up off the top of your head?"
"Yeah." He softly says turning around. "Did you set us up?" He asks as he looks at the screen above him.
"No... I don't know how to." You softly say. He sighs and nods. He sets up the game and stretches preparing to roll the ball.
"Are you good at this?" You ask loud enough for him to hear.
"I'm extremely good! I get mostly strikes~" He sooths, smiling back at you. You smile and nod. He pulls his arm back preparing to roll the bowling ball. He throws the ball and the ball flys to the right hitting someone in the side.
"Ouch! What the hell!" The guy shouts, glaring at Eli. Eli's eyes widen and he quickly rushes towards you.
"UHHH!" He grabs you, preparing to pull you away. "Maybe we should go do something else." He whispers to you in a panicked tone, pulling you away.
"I thought you said you were good at this..." You jokingly say to him.
"SHUSH!"
"Hey... You hit my brother." A girl says standing in front of the two of you.
"Yeah..." A voice huffs from behind you. You furrow your eyebrows as you stare at the girl. She has peach colored eyes and peach colored hair. You slowly turn your head to see a dude with blue eyes and blue hair that's cut short.
"Wait... you look familiar..." The girl says leaning close to you.
"I do?"
"Yeah... Like I've seen you from somewhere..." She softly says.
"No- I'm pretty sure-"
"You're Yuki!" She says with a smile on her face. "Luna and Mana talk about you a lot and I've seen pictures of you on Mitsuya's phone too~" She softly says.
"Huh? Yuki? The Yuki?" The guy says in shock. He looks at you as you look at him. He quickly looks away and frowns a bit. You furrow your eyebrows as you look back at the girl.
"Who are you?" You ask in a confused tone.
"Yuzuha Shiba... and the guy behind you is my little brother Hakkai Shiba..." Your eyes widen and then narrow when you realized who they were.
