Hair: Black, slightly untidy, with a fringe that falls over his forehead.
Eyes: Dark grey normally, developing an electric-blue glow when his System channels energy.
Build: Lean and athletic, with the physique of someone who moves often but doesn't rely on brute strength.
Clothing: Dark cultivation robes modified with practical fastenings, reinforced sleeves, and small metallic components inspired by his scientific background.
Distinctive feature: Thin blue energy lines appearing along his hands and forearms when he uses his abilities.
Ning's powers
1. Energy Absorption
His foundation ability. Ning draws energy from sources such as sunlight, heat, lightning, atmospheric energy, and other compatible sources. The absorbed energy sustains his energy-based form and supplies fuel for other abilities.
Combat uses: Replenishing reserves, drawing power from the environment, exploiting enemy energy sources, and surviving situations where ordinary cultivators would struggle.
Limitations: Energy isn't automatically interchangeable. Different sources may require conversion, and absorbing too much or taking in an unfamiliar energy type should carry risks.
2. Energy Conversion
Ning transforms available energy into forms his System can use. This is where his scientific knowledge gives him an advantage: he can investigate how energy behaves rather than relying entirely on cultivation techniques.
Combat uses: Redirecting usable energy, preparing abilities, and finding alternative power sources when his preferred supply is unavailable.
Limitations: Conversion should cost energy and time. An inefficient conversion, incorrect calculation, or incompatible energy source can waste reserves or cause instability.
3. Energy Sensitivity, Level 1
Ning can sense energy sources and fluctuations within approximately 50 metres, according to his established character notes.
Combat uses: Detecting hidden energy sources, noticing unstable machinery, identifying disturbances, and sensing changes before they become obvious.
Limitations: Detection doesn't automatically explain what he senses. Interference, overlapping signals, concealed sources, and unfamiliar energy signatures can confuse his readings.
4. Reality Weaving, Basic
Ning can make limited changes to local reality, including creating portals or making subtle environmental adjustments.
Combat uses: Manipulating positioning, creating openings, interacting with spatial distortions, and potentially disrupting an opponent's attack.
Limitations: His control is still developing. Concentration, range, complexity, and energy requirements should restrict what he can accomplish. A small spatial adjustment shouldn't let him rewrite an entire battlefield without consequences.
5. Environmental Harmony, Basic
Ning can subtly stabilize local natural-energy patterns and influence their flow.
Combat uses: Calming unstable energy, reducing environmental interference, and helping allies operate in dangerous locations.
Limitations: It is a supporting ability rather than an instant solution to large-scale destruction. Its effects should remain limited in range and intensity at his current proficiency.
6. Bio-Energetic Regulation, Basic
Ning can influence biological energy in nearby living systems through direct concentration.
Combat uses: Supporting biological stability, regulating abnormal energy activity, and potentially helping an ally maintain their condition.
Limitations: It requires focus on the target. It shouldn't automatically heal every injury, resurrect the dead, or grant unrestricted control over another person's body.
7. Binary Soul-Link
Ning can establish a connection with compatible systems and interact with their information or operating structures.
Combat uses: Investigating machinery, communicating with artificial intelligence, diagnosing faults, and interacting with systems such as Ferrum-9.
Limitations: A connection exposes him to interference, hostile code, and attacks through the link. The Iron Foundry incidents demonstrate why connecting to an unknown intelligence is dangerous.
8. Quantum Memory Reconstruction
This ability becomes available in Chapter 27 and is explored in Chapter 28.
Ning can reconstruct fragmented memories from residual energetic information. It helps him recover pieces of his previous life and investigate the original experiment.
Limitations: Its activation cost is unknown. Reconstruction can cause disorientation, identity instability, and memory contamination. The recovered information may be incomplete or unreliable.
9. Soul Resonance
Ning can interact with resonant spiritual or psionic phenomena. The ability is relevant when dealing with unusual consciousness-based threats.

Combat uses: Limiting the effects of hostile psionic signals and helping resist consciousness-based interference.
Limitations: Its exact range, duration, and resistance thresholds remain unconfirmed. It should be treated as a specialised defensive tool rather than complete immunity to mental or spiritual attacks.
