"So Levi, will you quit the academy... for my sake?" Iva was speaking to me, her voice sounded like it was on the verge of tears, and yet I couldn't tell since there were no lights in the car.
"I'm sorry, but I can't." I buckled up and sat back.
"Unfortunate." I heard the squeak of someone moving seats.
"So Levi, you believe you're ready for the training, then?" Sebastian's voice seemed unsure and shaky.
"Yes, I'm ready." I hadn't just trained my ass off for the last 2 weeks for nothing.
"Good to see you haven't changed, Brother," Elyssa said; her voice made it seem as if she was bored.
"Good to see the entire Crown family in a singular car again." Last time this happened, nothing good came from it.
"So you're just going to keep going to a magic academy while you have none?" Elyssa spoke; her words almost seemed to explode out of her mouth.
How angry had I made them? "Yes, I fully intend to go regardless of how my mana core is doing." I wouldn't back down.
"What if we cut your funding, then what?" Her face was red; she was getting angrier.
"I'll have one full year to figure my money situation out. Nothing you do will get me to stop going to the academy, and that's just how I feel." The seat now felt too warm; I could feel sweat forming on my back.
"Okay then, you'll have 1 month before you go back, and by the end of that time, you'd better decide. You will also have that time to pack your things." She had made her choice, and I was going to make mine.
"Elysia, don't you think you're being too harsh?" Iva spoke quietly, which was uncharacteristic for her.
"No, if he won't listen to his older sister, then we'll have to do something about it." She was being harsh to Iva for no reason.
The conversation died down after that until we got to the Crown Estate.
"1 month, Levi, that's all you get to decide and get ready." She pulled herself out of the car and was escorted to her room.
I thought I had her. Iva said she was sorry, but I couldn't tell, since she was also escorted to her room.
Sebastian was still in the car. "I'll be following you around, Master Levi."
I nodded. "What exactly will the training be?" I was genuinely curious.
I stepped out of the car; the sprinklers and lights kicked on, showing the massive area. There were water fountains and statues all over.
"Well, I have to gauge your physical strength first, then I can decide the best route of training for you." His voice seemed to be back to normal.
"Well, I have 1 month to train." I sighed after saying that.
"It might be difficult for me to properly train you at that time." We were walking to the front doors.
"Well, if we were to train late into the night, then do you think you could?"
*Sigh.* He stopped walking and took a long moment to think. "I might be able to teach you the basics." His answer didn't seem all that confident.
We walked through the front doors.
"Welcome back, Master Levi." Mia was standing there holding some plates.
"Nice to see you again, Mia." I smiled at her.
"Everyone here was worried about you when we heard you were in a coma."
I chuckled. "Makes sense. We can talk more tomorrow; I'm quite tired."
I walked up the stairs and to the left, I opened my door, and nothing had changed; even the torn-up coat was still hung around the chair.
I closed the door and lay down.
It felt good to be home.
