"Whoa, where are we? I never saw anything like this! Is that tree magical? How could I have not heard about such a large tree?" Sirius asked with wide eyes, his 'new' wand in his hand.
Their trip to the Goblins had worked, and Harry gained access to the Black Vaults as the magical contract that bound him to the Triwizard Tournament had really acknowledged him as an adult, at least in front of magic.
That was enough for the Goblins.
Unfortunately, Sirius forgot to mention an important thing.
Harry looked at the ring sitting on his hand.
While the Goblins don't handle matters of Lordship, only finances regarding their vaults, nothing forbids the family from handling it themselves.
Like placing a charm on the vault entrance that makes the first person able to enter the Black Vault, Lord Black, by placing the Lord Black Ring on one's hand. After all, only Lord Black and the heir could enter the main vault by themselves.
Yes, Harry was now Lord Black.
And that Mutt didn't want it back, happy that he could dodge the responsibility.
Harry sighed as he replied to Sirius, "Because we are in a different world. This tree is not magical; it's a World Tree. According to some reliable sources, this is only a sapling, since it lacks the necessary nourishment."
"Are you serious? That thing is only a small one?"
"No, you are." Harry said with a deadpan, "And yes. This world is a bit strange. It's not a commonly known fact; the governments want to keep it a secret. But what people here know as the Human World, an area no smaller than our own World, is only a small part of the True World, located in the middle of a sea in a place called the Dark Continent."
"That's big… only a sea? Why is it a secret?"
"Because the Dark Continent is an incredibly deadly place. The survival rate for expeditions there is a mere 0.04%. And worse, survival doesn't always mean a better fate. Every expedition that has managed to return was forced to bring back a calamity from that place—supernatural beings, forces, and illnesses that now lurk hidden in the human world. Each one is a potential disaster, waiting to erupt at any moment." Harry explained as Sirius began to stare at him.
"So how is that better than the Wizarding World? This place sounds scary as hell! How can you even travel between worlds? I never heard of magic like this. Sure, there is devil summoning and all that, but they are part of our world. Sirius muttered nervously.
"Oh, you know about Devils? And you jumped through the portal without any idea what was going on? Why didn't you ask? Why did you not question how I suddenly appeared at your place?" Harry looked at him with disbelief. Sure he had forgotten to explain to Sirius how he was doing that, but the man just went with it.
"You asked me to trust you. So I did." Sirius shrugged with his shoulders, "And I am a Black. Of course my family has records about devil summoning, although the actual summoning rituals have disappeared a few centuries ago."
"Makes sense. Well, do you know what a Sacred Gear is?"
"I have heard of that term; they are really rare. But are they not some kind of weapon that sometimes appears on some wizards? It's been a few decades since one has been confirmed." Sirius replied thoughtfully.
"Yes, you could say that. And I got one that allows me to manipulate space. For example, the letter I sent you has been marked with a bit of power from my Sacred Gear, so I can always teleport to it. And I am able to use it to travel between worlds."
Well, marking the letter was a combination of Nen and Dimension Lost, his Emitter aspect to be precise.
While on his first level of Emitter Training, he tried to detach a bit of Purple Mist and send it in a direction; on the second and third levels, he tried to put it into objects.
His inspiration being the flying Thunder God Jutsu of Namikaze Minato and Tobirama Senju. Portals were cool, but he needed to focus on a location that he already knew or could see.
For example, to get to Japan to steal Ddraig's soul, he had to move a portal over half the world until he located Kuoh before he could travel there.
But now he could mark objects and people; they also acted as his En. Not only could he sense their location, but also feel if they were touched. And he could, with a simple thought, teleport to his markers, no need to focus like for his portals.
"So you can travel between worlds. Seems handy. Shouldn't we just stay here, away from Voldemort, Dumbledore, and the Ministry?" Sirius asked before a thought occurred to him, "They don't have a Ministry of Magic here, do they?"
"No, there are no magicals at all. Well, there are creatures called magical beasts, but they are mostly creatures with some special abilities. Not really magical. A small percentage of the population has another form of supernatural ability called Nen, where they manipulate their lifeforce to become stronger. There are quite a few people that could beat Voldemort in this world." Harry explained.
"Can we learn this Nen, too? Would be handy to have a Trump Card over Voldy. Do we even have enough time? Didn't you mention the Yule Ball is in about a month?" Sirius asked, interested.
"Yes, we can. It even makes our magic stronger. I already learned it." Harry answered as he pulled his phone out, "I will teach you later. You will also need to train and earn some money. This is the nice thing about world traveling: the time doesn't flow everywhere the same. We have a few months here. And I will leave you here for the Yule Ball, so you can heal more."
"That's good. Do you have some money already? We should have brought potions for me... Sirius realized the opportunity he got. Nobody was after him; he could live freely! Explore a whole different world!
"I got some cash, but the place where I will let you train after teaching you Nen will allow you to make money. It's a tower where you fight, and wins earn you cash. And don't worry about potions; I picked all kinds of healing ones up before I got you." Harry smirked.
"You really planned things through." Sirius nodded, now more relaxed. "So what's the small shiny box in your hand?"
"That's a smartphone, a portable phone with a few more functions than just communications. Something the People in this World have created. Our Muggles have them too, but they are still 20 years behind these ones." Harry explained as he finished typing a message.
It didn't take long for him to receive a reply.
"Why did it make a sound?"
———
"Hey Harry, welcome back!" Menchi greeted him with an excited tone as they approached the backside of a restaurant, where she was already waiting; her eyes fell on Sirius, who was staring at her cleavage. "Who's that?"
"That is my godfather, pretty much the only family I have left. Sorry for his behavior. He hasn't seen a beautiful woman in years. In our world he is a convict that escaped the worst prison in our world." Harry explained regretfully as he slapped the backside of Sirius's head.
"He is a criminal? What did he do?" She asked confused, "And don't worry about it. Men tend to underestimate me because of that."
"Nothing; he's been falsely accused, and our government is so corrupt that they would never admit a mistake. He didn't even get a trial yet. Legally he shouldn't even be a convict, even though he spent 12 years in that prison." Harry explained.
"It's a pleasure to meet such a lovely lady as you." Sirius made an exaggerated bow as he kissed the back of Menchi's hand, who just chuckled at him.
"Oh, a charmer. But sorry, you are not my type." She laughed before turning towards Harry, "So did you bring it?"
"Yep, did you prepare a cool storage?"
"Follow me; it's in the back." She led them into the restaurant.
"Is this yours?" Harry asked, interested, as he observed the large kitchen with interest.
"That's my restaurant," Menchi explained as she led Harry and Sirius inside. "But I don't have fixed opening hours. I only cook for invited clientele at specific times when I'm not off journeying. It also doubles as my personal lab for experimenting with new ingredients."
"Good, you will love what I brought you." Harry smirked as they arrived in the cool storage. "Can I put it here?"
As Menchi nodded, Purple Mist spread out from Harry, and suddenly the warehouse was filled with hundreds of different boxes.
Menchi looked at him as if Christmas had come early. "That's all for me?"
Harry nodded and pulled a few books out. "I asked a house-elf friend of mine to prepare them for you. The boxes are all charmed with specific conditions to keep the ingredients fresh; you only have to keep them in the coolhouse. This is a guide on how to handle the boxes without breaking anything. And this one is a collection containing the general information about all the ingredients I brought, how to prepare them, and which parts are edible. Each box is marked with what it contains. And lastly, this book has been prepared by my friend, with different recipes they use them for."
Dobby had been really helpful for him, to collect the different magical ingredients the house-elves use in their cuisine.
Magical cooking was quite an in-depth topic; many potion ingredients could also be used for food.
To his surprise, she hugged him and kissed him on the cheeks. "Thank you! That is the greatest gift, Harry! If you ever need something, you just have to tell me."
He blushed a bit, "It was no problem… There is something you could help me with. If you have some free time besides your experiments, could you teach Sirius Nen?"
She looked at Sirius, not releasing Harry from his hug. "He knows about Nen?"
"Yes, he just hasn't learned it. And he is a wizard too. The two of you can experiment with magic and cooking too." Harry added casually, ignoring the glint in her eyes.
But Sirius shuddered as he nervously looked at Harry, "You are going to leave me with her?"
"Of course, there are things I have to take care of. And trust me, she is really capable. As long as you don't look down on food or cooking, you are fine." Harry smirked.
