Night time.
Kushina sat by Naruto's bedside, tucking him in and gently stroking his cheek.
"Mom." Naruto lay in bed, eyes open, looking at her.
"Mom is here," Kushina said with a warm smile.
Naruto asked, "When I wake up tomorrow, will I still see you?"
Kushina replied, "Silly child, Mom will always be by your side. Sleep now."
Naruto blinked at her, then nodded firmly.
"Mom, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
This world had suddenly become very strange.
Though strange, it seemed much better than the one he had come from.
He suddenly had a mom and dad, and suddenly had many family members.
Even that guy Sasuke wasn't as annoying anymore...
Too bad Sakura, for some reason, didn't recognize him.
He'd have to reintroduce himself to her later.
Kushina left, and the room fell into silence.
"Sasuke," Naruto suddenly spoke.
"Hmm?"
"Are we really brothers?" Naruto asked.
"It's not just the two of us—it's the three of us. Neji is the eldest," Sasuke replied lazily, yawning.
"Oh."
"Go to sleep, Naruto. Maybe you'll remember everything by tomorrow," Neji added from the other side.
"Alright, I'm going to sleep. Good night."
Naruto pulled the blanket up to his mouth.
It smelled nice—fragrant and soft, wrapping him in comfort.
He remembered that his old blanket often had the scent of his own drool.
The food at home, made by the moms, was delicious.
He had eaten two big bowls of rice.
The fridge was stocked with snacks, and he could take whatever he wanted.
The wardrobe was filled with clothes, and Sasuke had pointed at a bunch, saying they all belonged to him.
During the day, he had met many people who treated him with great respect, as if he were someone really important—so different from before, when people avoided him like the plague.
This... shouldn't be a dream, right?
Staring at the pitch-black ceiling, Naruto suddenly felt uncertain again.
He was scared.
Scared that when he woke up, everything would go back to how it was before.
"Sasuke," he called out once again.
"Hmm."
"I..." Naruto hesitated.
On the bed, Sasuke suddenly turned to look at him. "What's wrong?"
"I'm a little scared."
Sasuke was momentarily stunned, and even Neji turned to look at him.
"What are you scared of?"
"...I'm afraid that after I fall asleep, you guys will be different again."
Sasuke tilted his head. "How could we be different? We've always been like this."
Naruto fell silent.
Understanding the situation, Neji said, "Naruto, there's no need to be afraid. We'll always be by your side. Our whole family will be here for you. Dad will protect all of us."
Naruto thought of that unfamiliar father he had just met—someone he still felt a little afraid of.
He felt much closer to his mother.
Maybe this was what the books always described as a loving mother and a strict father.
He didn't really know what a father and mother were supposed to be like—everything he knew came from books.
Suddenly, Naruto threw off his blanket, got out of bed, and quickly walked out of the bedroom.
He saw his mother talking with the other moms.
"Naruto?" Kushina stood up in confusion.
"What's wrong?"
Naruto didn't say anything.
He simply ran over and threw himself into her arms.
"Mom… good night."
Kushina's expression softened as she gently patted his back.
"Good night."
After letting go, Naruto turned and walked back toward the bedroom.
When he reached the door, he looked back and waved at Kushina.
"Mom, see you tomorrow."
Kushina smiled warmly and waved back. "See you tomorrow."
Naruto climbed back under the covers, feeling much more at ease.
"Sasuke."
"What is it now?" Sasuke replied helplessly. He was really sleepy.
"I…" Naruto hesitated for a moment. "I had a dream before."
"What kind of dream?"
"In the dream… I didn't have a mom or dad."
Sasuke and Neji were both stunned upon hearing that.
Naruto continued, "In the dream, everyone hated me. I didn't even know why, but the adults wouldn't let their kids play with me…"
He recounted his original experiences, framing them as a dream.
He figured that way, it would sound more believable.
Perhaps because his words felt too real, Sasuke and Neji didn't respond right away.
"Idiot, that was just a dream," Sasuke finally said.
"How could you not have a mom or dad? Our dad is the strongest person in the world, and we have so many moms, each of them loving us so much. And there's Hinata too. Our family is perfectly fine—why bother worrying about a dream like that?"
Hearing this, Naruto couldn't help but smile a little.
"Ah, I got it. Good night, Sasuke."
"…Mm."
"Good night, Neji."
"Good night."
Naruto slowly closed his eyes, imagining the new life awaiting him tomorrow.
A beautiful mother would come in and wake him up.
With that thought in mind, he drifted off into sleep.
"Naruto…"
"Naruto."
"Naruto!"
"Wake up, Naruto!"
Somewhere in between dreams and reality, Naruto felt someone shaking him.
As he groggily opened his eyes, he was met with a blinding white light.
"NARUTO!"
A loud, angry, and incredibly familiar voice yanked him fully awake.
As his vision cleared, he found himself sitting in a familiar classroom, surrounded by familiar faces.
"NARUTO!" Iruka's booming voice came at him full force.
Naruto, however, sat there in a daze, his neck stiff as he turned to scan his surroundings.
Finally, his gaze locked onto a black-haired, handsome boy.
Ignoring Iruka, Naruto shot to his feet and rushed over, his voice trembling with excitement. "Sasuke, do you remember me?!"
The black-haired boy glanced at him strangely before coolly turning away.
"Idiot."
Iruka grabbed Naruto by the ear, yelling, "Naruto! Sleeping in class is bad enough, but now you're disrupting the lesson too?! Are you trying to cause trouble?!"
But this time, Naruto didn't cry out in pain.
He simply stood there, dazed and lifeless.
It was a dream…
So it really was just a dream…
Such a beautiful mother, such a wonderful home—how could that possibly belong to him…?
As that realization sank in, tears suddenly began to fall from his eyes, dripping one by one onto the wooden floor.
Iruka was startled, thinking he had accidentally made Naruto cry.
But no matter what Iruka said, Naruto remained frozen, staring blankly into space, as if his soul had left him.
.............
The deep night.
With doubts filling his mind, Makoto was about to sleep when he suddenly sensed something.
Quickly getting out of bed, he left the master bedroom and headed toward the children's room.
"Dad?" Sasuke rubbed his sleepy eyes as he looked toward the doorway.
Makoto strode over to Naruto's bed and saw that he was fast asleep.
He gently shook him.
"Naruto."
Naruto groggily opened his eyes.
"Dad? Is it morning already?"
"…No, go back to sleep, my child."
Makoto softly stroked his cheek and spoke in a warm tone.
Then, after reminding Neji and Sasuke to sleep early, he left the children's room.
That power just now…
It had appeared out of nowhere, flashing by in an instant—too fleeting for him to grasp clearly.
But one thing was certain: it was connected to Naruto's soul crossing over.
