Henry Gael's gaze followed Ella and Henry as they exited the restaurant. He let out a quiet chuckle, more at himself than at the situation, 'I was too presumptuous', he admitted inwardly.
'I should have known better than to expect her to remember me.' Henry thought to himself. That fleeting encounter at the party had etched in his mind, but to Ella, he must have just been another passing face. But then, he had for some weird reason hoped she remembered him, and now that it was obvious she didn't, he found himself feeling sour about it.
"You know them?" Yunus asked, his eyes flicking in the direction Henry and Ella had just left through.
"Not really," Henry replied, lips twisting into a wry smile. "I met her once at a function but..." He trailed off, his shoulders lifted in a small shrug. "I assumed she would remember me."
