Kael's POV
Aria's eyes widened in shock recoiling from Kael as he stepped out of the darkness. Her face paled as her expression turned frightened. "Where did you come from?" she whispered, her voice a bit shaky.
Kael took a sick pleasure from knowing she was frightened by him. He knew it was wrong to feel like that but he couldn't help it. The way her eyes widened and her pupils dilated was too tempting.
He stared at her, his eyes roaming over the soft curves of her body, the way her breath sped up, he could hear the rush of her blood….the scent was overwhelmingly delicious.
It took all his self control not to pounce on her and claim her. 'Mine,' the darkness in him growled like the Savage beast it was.
Kael ignored it, Aria wasn't his and she'd never be.
His silence seemed to be making Aria uneasy, Kael noted as Aria started shifting from one leg to another, her eyes darting around as if looking for an escape.
A chuckle almost escaped Kael's lips. There was no escaping him, no matter where his princess runs to, he'd always catch her.
Like a switch being flipped Aria's wide, frightened eyes turned guarded.
Interesting, Kael mused. His princess always seemed to surprise him at every turn. No wonder he was obsessed with her, Kael thought.
Kael watched with keen eyes as she hardened her features and steeled her back. It was quite riveting to watch how she transformed from a scared little mouse that wandered into the Lions den, into a brave little mouse. But like the mouse, no matter how brave she appeared it didn't change the fact that she was still prey.
She was good at pretending, Kael would give her that. If not for the slight tremble in her hands before she clenched it, he would have almost believed her little brave act.
"What are you doing here?" she repeated, her eyes narrowing slightly.
"How did you get here?" She added at Kael's lack of answer.
Kael stared her down, "I don't remember giving you permission to be here"
She flushed from anger or embarrassment, he wasn't too sure.
"You never explicitly said I couldn't be here" She replied, snappily.
Anger then, Kael mused trying to control his amusement. She reminded him of an angry kitten with blunt claws.
"It seemed you're not well versed with the definition of prisoner." He said moving closer to her.
He trailed a finger down her face, noticing the way her breath hitched. "It means you're mine to control, I own you, Princess" He whispered in her ears.
Aria's breath hitched, Kael could feel her heart racing. He inhaled a deep breath as the intoxicating scent of her arousal filled the air.
Her eyes turned hooded as the sound of her labored breath filled the quiet library.
Kael could feel his restraint snapping, rope by rope. He had to touch her, he just had to.
He trailed his fingers down her long neck trailing it softly. Aria let out a whimper, Kael groaned at the sound. She pressed her body into his while squeezing her thighs looking for friction.
She let out a breathless moan as Kael wrapped his hand around her neck. The sound sent a jolt to Kael's member.
If she kept making sounds like that, Kael was going to lose the last bit of control he had and fuck her against the shelve.
The thought aroused him further, the thought of sliding into her was almost his undoing.
He had to stop. Giving into his desires was going to ruin them both.
Kael reluctantly pulled back, clearing his throat.
Aria's face flushed as if just realizing what she was doing.
"Uhm, I'm sorry,…I don't know what came over me" Aria muttered awkwardly, her face beet red.
Kael wasn't sure what to make of her apology, he was far from sorry for whatever happened. But what did not happen, that, he was sorry for.
Aria shuffled on her feet, she looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here.
"Why are you here Aria," Kael asked, deciding to put her out of her misery.
"Obsidian," She blurted out without a second thought. Her eyes widened as she slapped her hands over her mouth.
She took a step back, as if trying to retreat from the words she had spoken.
Kael's eyes hardened "Where did you hear that word from"
Aria flinched at the question but said nothing which aggravated Kael.
"Who told you about Obsidian Aria,"
"Answer me!" He snapped, running his fingers through his hair.
"If you tell me where Obsidian is, I'll tell you who told me"
Kael let out a humorless laugh. She wants to bargain? If only she knew the true extent of the danger she was in.
He could have her screaming the name of the person who told her in seconds if he truly wished. He wouldn't even have needed to lift a finger, his shadows were enough.
He contemplated on using his shadows to coax the name out of her but after what happened the last time he used his powers on her, he wasn't certain that he wouldn't take it too far. Instead he decided to play this silly game of hers.
It was high time she learned not to strike a bargain with the devil.
