As time went on, while Nova was sleeping, he felt the shift in the bed beside him and his eyes opened slightly. When he noticed her getting out of bed, she was still dressed like that and his brows furrowed.
His eyes slid over to where she now sat, still cloaked in her masked elegance, but with the gown slipping just slightly off one shoulder, revealing the pale line of skin beneath. Her presence was quieter than the wind outside, yet stronger than any words she could have spoken.
"You're back," he muttered, voice low, as he kept his gaze fixed on her.
"Sorry, did not want to wake you up and I never really left," she replied, not bothering to look at him right away as she reached up and removed the ornate clips from her hair. Her silver strands spilled over her shoulders, soft waves catching the moonlight. "Only gave you space."
