"You are mistaken about one thing, Young Theo," Scholar Vale said calmly after listening to Theo with great patience.
"Spatial affinity and spatial awareness are not the same thing, Young Theo."
"What?" Theo asked as the man added that seemingly out of nowhere in the end.
The calm smile on the scholar's face never left.
"Young Theo, three things happen when a person gains spatial affinity," he said.
"You gain better compatibility with spatial beasts; that is a given." He lifted one finger as he spoke.
"Then there are the less obvious effects. Your sense of direction improves, and you become aware of distortions in space or unusual movements."
"And finally, you can train far more easily in spatial arts," he finished with a smile.
Theo listened to the first two points without much of a reaction, as they felt normal, but the third one struck him like some kind of conspiracy theory.
"…What do you mean by spatial arts, Scholar Vale?" Theo asked curiously.
