"For now, leave her here. We will watch over her. You shouldn't visit her too often," Tiffany seriously said to Shawn.
"This is for your and her own safety. Lenon and I have talked to your parents, and they thought the same," she added.
Shawn understood them completely.
Even though the Morgrave Family was currently silent, they do not know what they are planning.Coming here and visiting her always may cause more danger than necessary.
"I understand," he agreed without complaint.
For now, at the very least, he and the rest knew that she was safe and sound. That is more than enough.
"You did great, Shawn. You really did," Tiffany said with a smile.
"At the same time, she is old enough. She can now make decisions independently without the law giving her family the right to take care of her," Dylan added.
"Indeed. With her move right now, it is quite obvious that she had waited for this time all along," Tiffany agreed.
"I really am grateful to you," Shawn said just as Lenon entered the house, done with a phone call regarding the company.
"For helping her like this. I have watched how she has been since our third year in high school. And there are times when, because of my actions, she ends up in a difficult situation. Thinking about it now, she was already having a hard time, and I still gave her more."
He sighed, "That is why, thank you so much for going along with my selfish kindness."
"At first it was true that we helped her because your family asked for our support. But Dylan had spoken that he had seen talent in her. The reason we are willing to invest. If he could see that she has the talent, then it is not bad to invest and gain something in the future," Lenon spoke as he walked closer to them.
"Don't feel burdened. Both of you are doing that. We already told you to leave everything else to the adults," he then added before ruffling Shawn's hair.
Shawn smiled but thought differently while fixing his hair, 'I am no longer a child, uncle.'
But a few minutes had passed, yet Wynter did not step out.
Tiffany decided to check on her.
She smiled with a bit of sadness. Wynter had fallen asleep and was lying on the bed.
'How tired must you be,' she thought.
She went ahead and put a blanket on her, but ended up chuckling a bit when she noticed that Wynter was actually holding a book about scriptwriting.
'She must have been very excited, looking at how peaceful her face is.'
After that, she stepped out.
"It seems that she had fallen asleep. She must still be tired," she informed the rest.
"Then I suppose I'll just send her a message," Shawn said as he stood up.
"I need to go back now," he added.
"You have classes all this time, haven't you?" Dylan squinted his eyes.
Shawn scratched the back of his head.
"Don't tell her."
The three of them shook their head in amusement.
He told Wynter that he was fine, but he was actually skipping a few of his classes to accompany her.
"Don't worry. She won't feel lonely anymore," Tiffany assured him.
"I know, Auntie," he replied and finally left.
"By the way, is Emina aware?" Dylan asked.
"I told her," Lenon replied.
"I guess she only said that it was up to you," Dylan commented.
Lenon shrugged.
"Will she be coming home tonight?" Tiffany asked.
"She said she's busy. She may return this weekend."
Since there was an attached bedroom in the office, Emina tended to spend more of her time in the office.
"I see," Tiffany sighed.
"Anyway, I have noticed something about Wynter."
Dylan chose to change the subject, but mentally reminded himself to talk to Emina about going home more often.
"It seems she got so used to her perfect façade that even when she has other feelings, she chooses to hide them with a smile. We don't even know if her smiles are more genuine than not."
He spoke of what he observed earlier when she smiled after he felt something was amiss.
"She will surely end up hiding most of her emotions," he added.
"Slowly," Tiffany replied.
"We will slowly help her since she is already under our care."
Lenon nodded in agreement.
…
Wynter woke up later that evening when Tiffany woke her to have some dinner.
She did not even realize that she had fallen asleep.
"For now, do tell us if you are allergic to anything," Tiffany said as they sat down.
Dylan and Lenon were also there.
"…Mango."
Wynter thought for a bit before deciding to speak up.
Lenon slightly frowned, "Mango?"
She nodded.
Tiffany couldn't help but scoff.
Wynter blinked. Was it not right to say it?
"And Minerva proclaimed that your favorite is mango? Even making you eat in public places?"
Wynter once again blinked.
It was not because of her.
It seems that she was mad because of her mother.
"Uhmmm," she did not know how to react.
Tiffany cleared her throat, "Anyway. At least we know. I was even planning on having more desserts with mango."
"You… really don't have to."
Tiffany smiled, "I want to. Since we took you in, I intend to let you be comfortable here."
"…"
"And don't feel burdened about anything. After all, you are also an investment on our side. We will, of course, check your talent and strength, and once confirmed, we will work you to the bones."
Wynter's lips parted a little.
Tiffany smiled again, "Now go on and eat. What we need from you now is for your health to return to its optimal condition."
