Chapter 101 - Pt. 12: 100: Over the Top Acting Skills

Darkness consumed Skylar. It took her a few hours to feel everything that surrounded her, which included some murmuring on her sides. She knew those voices, and they were attempting to wake her up, but the dosage injected around her was something hard to break.

"Fredric, what do you think you're doing to our boss?"

"Something fun, and I bet she'll love it."

"You asshole if Vince heard about this…"

"Don't worry, I already sent the video. In fact, he might be on his way."

"Damn you!"

"Save your voices. Things need to be done."

"She won't let you get away from this."

"Oh, honey, I'm waiting."

Skylar heard the fading laughter from Fredric and curses from her friends. But she, on the other hand, was not just pretending to be still. She was trying to break free from what was binding her, a chain. With her vampire side completely taken over, she magically used her blood to melt the chain around her wrist. She let it travel across the other chains wrapped around her before unbinding her friends, too. Being a vampire, she knew they had been watched.

"How long do you think she'll be asleep?"

"It depends on the dosage injected into her."

"Damn, how can we break from this? Any idea?"

"You're the inventor, not me."

"Shit! Even though I forgot. Let me think."

"Stupid."

As silence filled the entire confinement, Skylar began stirring, pretending to be waking up, although she was already up. She was groaning when the metal door opened, and with one swift move, the man was down, and Skylar was gone. She was already standing outside the confinement, unreadable and very deadly.

"Move out. Let's get started." With firmness and coldness, Skylar commanded them. At first, they were confused, but when they felt the chain come off, they quickly understood what their commander meant.

In a flash, they moved in separate ways, but as for Skylar, they covered her sight and went into her Rose Slayer mode, making her killer instinct over the top once again. Her movement blended in either the darkness or in the lights, and every guard she came across was silently killed, leaving no evidence of her attempt. But on a certain unfinished facility, she looked at the corner where the CCTV camera was activated. She made sure whoever was watching saw her sinister smile before walking away like she didn't send any message at all.

"Hubby, are you in your position?" Rose Slayer asked her husband through their telepathy.

'Yes, and I'm waiting for your signal.'

"Once you smelled my blood, that's your cue." She replied as she snapped another guard's neck before proceeding on her way silently.

'Noted, but make sure you're safe.'

"Hubby, nothing is safe when I'm on the hunting game." She giggled darkly, amused by the game that had started.

'I know, but…'

"I'll be fine as long as my family is." She interrupted, ensuring everything would turn in their favor.

'Can't win if you sound like you already won.'

"Because I am." She responded sinisterly as she knocked two guards unconscious on their position and stopped her tracks, checking the area before adding amusingly, "This is going to be a lethal drama between siblings."

'Can't wait to watch.'

"Front top seat is prepared with your name on it." She said, reminding Vincencio where he could watch the game clearly.

'Then I'll head there after my cue.'

"You better be." She grinned as she pulled out her knife, slitting another guard's neck for betraying her brother before saying firmly, "Let's get this started."

Every turn Rose Slayer made, she made sure every target on her list faced their deathbeds without hesitation. She killed them without remorse before reaching the Blue Rose Park. It was still under construction when she stood firmly on her ground, highly alert to any possible attempt that might surprise her, and it did. One dagger came flying to her, where she quickly dodged it and vanished from her spot. She immediately went where it came from and released her heavy punch, but only to meet air. But it was followed by an amused giggle and a clapping hand.

"That's the fighter I've been dying to meet again in person." Fredric, as the Master said, taunted Skylar again like before when they met on the battlefield during her service in the military.

"You." Rose Slayer grinned like she was expecting him to show up.

"Me? Miss me, my dear general?" He teased amusingly as he stepped forward until they stood face-to-face, ready to rip each other's faces.

"So much to the point I wanted to shred you by myself." She grinned sinisterly, cracking her fingertips in excitement.

"Then be my guest. You already killed my men." He chuckled amusingly, but filled with darkness, and Rose Slayer was not backing down. The feelings were mutual.

"Most of them." She corrected him, making him laugh.

"Oh, right, most." He chuckled before he took a gentleman's bow, offering her hand, asking sinisterly, "Shall we dance like the old time?"

"Well, I brought something new." She smirked, agreeing to the offer, and cracked her fingertips one more time.

"Same here." He replied, grinning darkly, then in a flash, both of them vanished on their spot. However, that was not the only thing that happened around the area.

They moved equally even, but no ordinary sight could ever follow on how fast they were. But the clashing sounds between metals, groans of exertion, and strong vibrations echoed throughout the area, causing the ground to feel like it was opening. But it was just a battle between two powerful people of the night.

Rose Slayer showcased her remarkable flexibility as she maintained her pace by switching blades and guns, incorporating martial arts stunts into her fighting style. Fredric, known as the Master, faced her with difficulty, but he still managed to face her surprises head-on without backing down. They were indeed evenly matched.

"I thought you brought something new." He teased, readying himself for any surprises on Rose Slayer's sleeves.

"Well, I do, but I'll show it once you release yours." She responded as she dodged his sword that he swung over her side, ensuring her blade blocked it in the process.

"And how did you know that I haven't released it yet?" He asked teasingly as he blocked her blades, but dodged the next blade that almost hit his neck.

"Then I'll ask you the same thing." She grinned darkly when she twisted her blades faster downwards, before going to the sides, but she did not stop there. It was followed by strong blows from either side, making him almost lose her balance. However, he's a vampire as well. Flexibility and speed are always among the vampires' strongest combat abilities.

"You're getting more powerful than you expect you'll be." He praised as he dodged her attempts before countering in a split second of a gap, but she blocked them, grinning.

"Thanks to you." She replied, grinning, but when she stopped adding more attempts, she slowly vanished, making the Master stop on his tracks.

"You're turning into an incredible opponent of mine." He muttered amusingly but cleared enough for Rose Slayer to hear them. "I'm enjoying this to the fullest."

"Of course, because you're too." She grinned darkly as she appeared behind him and snaked her arms around his neck, locking and choking him surprisingly.

"DAMN! YOU GOT ME THERE!" He shouted, groaning, but the choke was not even hard, and yet he felt heaviness in them, making it hard to break free before whispering, "You're releasing something else here."

"Well, to make him believe, we have to move a little closer and be believable, don't you think?" She whispered to his ear, amused by their game, but at the same time, she was releasing something beneath it.

"True, then I'll show you no mercy." He grinned, agreeing, and flipped her to the other side, but she didn't stop there.

Rose Slayer, cracking her fingertips secretly and without the Master noticing it, activated something that she had been planting around the entire park. But their fight went on, and like the Master's promise, Rose Slayer began to have difficulties. The Master wasn't just using his vampire abilities, but his ruthlessness as a mafia was showing up at the same time, reminding Rose Slayer of the moment they had their first battle. It felt like it was a battle of the century. They were fighting not only with brute force but also with how they used their mind to counter each other's attempts, regardless of how tiring it was.

They fought in close-range combat, and whatever their hands touched was used against each other as a weapon. It was either making them badly hurt or just motivating them. They forgot everything as they battled each other until Rose Slayer landed on the spot when the Master managed to break her defense.

"This is the end now." The Master said coldly, thinking he won, but before he could release his final blow with smugness, Rose Slayer activated something.

A slight bleeding open palm stayed on the ground, activating her vampire's magical power – her earthly power quickly entrapped the Master's feet in their position, immobilizing the mafia boss. The Master tried his best to get away from it, but Rose Slayer won't let him move an inch. And to ensure that, she made the ground crawl up his body before taking a thorny dragon form, injuring him, threatening him.

"That's my baby sister." The Master whispered, feeling proud of the growth of his sister. But they were still in the game, and faking things to be real. He tried to break free, reacting in disbelief, saying, "How did you…"

"I know, right?" Rose Slayer replied softly to her brother's proud comment before stepping closer to her prey, grinning sinisterly, saying, "Told you, I brought something with me."

"I'll get back at you when I free myself here." He groaned, trying to wiggle out of it, but it only tightened, making him cough blood.

"Don't attempt it, it'll backfire even more." She warned, shaking her head but grinning.

"Then I'd better…" He was about to reveal his secret, but she quickly stopped her by grabbing and leaning closer to his face.

"Don't overdo it. You're wife's mark is activated." She whispered, where the Master noticed a rose mark on his neck, making him smirk. He knew that it was the ability of his wife's protection over him, and it would only be activated if he was completely in danger. "You don't want her to lose you here when we're faking things."

"Fine." He gave up, understanding the message, but the make-believe scene must go on. He grinned, challenging and provoking her more by saying, "I surrender, but I'm not giving your daughter."

But it was a wrong move that he made because he was pinned down and open to any attack from Rose Slayer. With bare hands and sharp nails, she immediately stabbed his stomach, ensuring it would pass through his body before pulling it out.

"That's what you get from involving my daughter in our conflict." She whispered darkly as she swung her hand on the side, removing his blood from her hand before adding a private whisper to his brother, "He's watching. Slow heal and keep pretending to be wounded."

"Perfect. Let's move to the next pace." He whispered back before waving his hand, letting her win the game and meeting his wife. "My wife…she…will lead the way there."

As if on cue, the Master's wife emerged from the shadows, with a frantic expression and anger toward her stupid husband. Syria quickly went to his side, cupping his face with worry and anger before looking frightened but pleading with Rose Slayer.

"Don't harm him. He's just being stupid again," the Master's wife, Fredric's, Syria pleaded before adding a spat toward her wounded husband. "I told you not to wrong her. See what happened."

"I know. I'm sorry…but it's the only way to get her full attention to us…" the Master responded, pretending to be weakening due to his wounds.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Rose Slayer wondered, faking her curiosity.

"Come, we'll tell you on the way," Syria said firmly but softly as she assisted her husband toward their car. "The police are heading here."

Without hesitation, only curiosity, Rose Slayer followed. But she also knew their real target had been watching them leave the scene, and before they could tail them, Vincencio came with the police, making their attempt fail.
