Chapter 843 - Shu Is a Big Idiot

For Shu's choice, Siegfried held the highest respect, especially before hearing Kiana's story about Shu. Siegfried's favorability towards Shu had reached its peak.

But after he eagerly learned from Kiana about Shu's experience in founding Fire Moth and some things before that, Siegfried's favorability towards Shu had a slight deviation.

To be precise, the sense of reverence from the bottom up had disappeared a lot.

And now, after Shu had also told that story, that sense of reverence from the bottom up had almost completely disappeared.

In its place was a sense of equality, and even a sense of emotion and comfort from the top down.

Making promises to others that one couldn't fulfill was a kind of cruelty to them. And Shu obviously didn't have the ability to become the "captain of the First Exploration Squad of Fire Moth" that he had claimed to be.

But he had shouldered it. Even in his most fragile period, when he was at his most vulnerable, he had taken on a promise that even Siegfried himself couldn't guarantee.

Did he know at that time that he could reach his current height?

Obviously not. Even now, when Shu had indeed reached a peak that no one could ever reach, he still thought that he was not a big deal. How could such a person have the foresight to understand the mission he could accomplish?

But he had shouldered it. He had shouldered such a heavy mission so overconfidently, even arrogantly.

And he had single-handedly brought this vehicle, which should have been scrapped in the dust of history, to its current state, giving everyone in this world a precious breath of life.

Perhaps he was really a fool...

Siegfried sighed. In fact, everything Shu had done so far could be attributed to the fact that he was a fool.

But it was this kind of fool... who had persisted until now.

"Dinner is ready~" Siegfried could no longer hear what Shu was saying. Besides his own distraction, there was also the fact that Cecilia had finally finished her "dinner" after a series of small explosions.

"Siegfried, come and help me with the dishes," Cecilia said with a smile, wiping a bit of black ash from her face.

Siegfried, as if he had been granted a great pardon, bowed to Shu with his hands clasped together, then quickly got up and ran to the kitchen.

Leaving only Shu, whose plan to tell all his stories had been cut short, in his place, his mouth slightly open and then closing in bewilderment.

Right... it's time to eat.

Just as passionate as he had been when he was sharing, Shu was now just as disappointed.

Should he continue at the dinner table?

But they all say you shouldn't talk while eating or sleeping. Would it be inappropriate for him to talk about these things while eating?

Maybe he should... forget it?

Anyway, there would definitely be a next time.

As soon as Shu had cheered up a little, the thought in his mind immediately took a turn and entered another stage.

Would there really be a next time? Although the current situation was not dire, it was still precarious. One careless mistake on his part could put everyone in a hopeless situation.

The heart that had just relaxed a little instantly tightened again, and the burden that had just been lifted was once again placed on him.

Right, he couldn't indulge in this moment of comfort anymore. He had to concentrate on protecting everyone. Only in this way could others enjoy this comfort.

Maybe... he should ask Siegfried and Cecilia about their combat knowledge later. These two were battle-hardened and could definitely give him more guidance.

"Clink—"

The sound of a ceramic plate hitting the table made Shu focus. He looked up, took a deep breath, and prepared to summon his courage to ask for guidance from Siegfried and Cecilia.

Just then, a pungent and spicy smell rushed into his nostrils as he took a deep breath.

Shu's face changed drastically. What came out of his mouth was not the well-thought-out words, but a violent cough.

"Cough cough cough—!!!"

Shu coughed, bent over, and supported himself on the table. He looked up at the pile of what seemed to be "food" in front of him with a look of horror.

It was pitch black, gooey, and still bubbling with thick bubbles. The self-flowing liquid, for some reason, looked very much like the wriggling of an unknown creature...

It was a health bar! A health bar!

Shu felt like he saw a red health bar—

So it was chili peppers!

"Cough cough—mm—" After coughing for a while, Shu closed his mouth with a pale face, his lips pressed into a tight line. This was the only way to prevent the thing that had almost come out with his words from appearing in front of the two of them.

The thing in front of him couldn't be called food. It was something he had seen before, something that had almost taken his life!

It was the first meal Kiana had ever made for him! That appearance, that inexplicably pungent and spicy smell! This was one of the few things that Shu would remember for the rest of his life besides battles!

A drop of cold sweat, mixed with the sweat that had already seeped out, slid down, targeting only the life-threatening object in front of him...

No!

Siegfried followed closely behind Cecilia. With a wave of his hand, four or five creations from the same source as the monster in front of him landed smoothly in front of Shu. The wisps of green steam illuminated his face with a hint of green.

Green as ink.

Cecilia seemed not to have noticed the drastic change in Shu's face. She still returned to the kitchen with a smile.

Siegfried sat down next to Shu with a sheepish look. The stare from his side made him too guilty to turn his head to face Shu.

"Ahem..." But Shu's gaze was too intense. Siegfried could only cough lightly in embarrassment and say to Shu, "How about we just order from the cafeteria?"

Shu nodded with a serious look and was about to pick up his phone to show Siegfried his super strong action.

But unfortunately, at that very moment, Cecilia brought out the last pot of struggling and wailing undead potion from the kitchen and placed it in front of Shu.

It was too late! Was time still too short?!

Damn it, I'm so stupid. I only remember that all the Kaslanas are kitchen killers, but I forgot that Cecilia is also a heavyweight?

...So Cecilia is also a heavyweight?

Shu sighed in his heart, his hand unconsciously clenching his phone.

"Just eat a little... just a little is fine~" Siegfried whispered in Shu's ear.

Just a little?

Shu took a deep breath and picked up his chopsticks with a trembling hand.

He had survived Kiana's cooking. A mere Schariac's meal... he could definitely—!
