Chapter 757 - Cecilia's Crime

When Cecilia opened her eyes, she could see the residual traces of the battle around her.

This place of white light seemed to have a layer of decay, but also a strange sense of sacredness.

The broken scars were the honor of its victory over extreme evil. Only Gu Chu and the others outside could perceive that the golden chains wielded by the Herrscher had once again gained a hint of gold.

She was still sublimating.

As a fellow Herrscher, Gu Chu almost instantly understood this person's current state.

There were also differences between Herrschers. After all, there was still a long way to go between a nascent Herrscher and a feathered one, and Gu Chu was the type who had killed herself in the womb.

Originally, with the little bean who used a sword and the woman who used a lance attacking together, the three of them could still contend with this person. Now, if she couldn't show some real skill, she might only be left with the path of accepting the Herrscher's power.

Because of this person?

No, she wasn't worthy!

A soul-stirring sword light suddenly erupted, but this sharp sword light did not cut even a single chain. Yet, the Herrscher still looked at Gu Chu with eyes that were about to split open.

At the same time, Cecilia in the trial court suddenly looked in a certain direction. A sword mark that was completely different from the other scars appeared in the place she was looking at.

"That madman..." The Herrscher's eyebrows twitched a couple of times before she looked at Cecilia and began her trial.

"Sinner—Cecilia Schariac." She opened Cecilia's file, and Cecilia below her silently nodded in response.

The Herrscher paused for a moment and glanced at Cecilia. This was the first time someone had responded to her at this stage... and also the first time someone had shown a listening posture here.

But attitude didn't mean everything. There were not a few nobles who were obsessed with etiquette, but the word used to describe them had always been "beasts in human clothing."

"The charge..." the Herrscher said in a low voice, and fell into silence.

The high degree of overlap in her file with Siegfried's almost made her think she had met a second Siegfried.

It seemed a little too clean...

The Herrscher frowned and looked up at Cecilia, who was standing in the center of the trial court, quietly waiting for her to continue speaking. She looked at her carefully for a while.

Why... couldn't the light shine in?

Cecilia stood there like a lifeless statue. The light was just normal light, naturally casting highlights and shadows on her.

But that was a person, a living person.

The darkness of ordinary people would cling to their bodies and be strangled by the light; Siegfried, on the other hand, emitted a light that was more dazzling than the light here, and instead, he cast shadows on this trial court;

The old man just now had actively attacked the trial court, attempting to crush it with a massive amount of darkness.

And Cecilia was the fourth situation. She just stood there, and nothing happened. She was just out of place with this world.

She couldn't see Cecilia's heart.

In fact, no one could see Cecilia's heart. Before Siegfried appeared, even Shigure Kira couldn't.

But fortunately, the Herrscher could still see the traces left on Cecilia's body and know her past.

"The charge..." the Herrscher pondered for a moment, and finally decided on a somewhat absurd charge for Cecilia.

"Malicious homicide... attempted."

Cecilia showed no surprise, just looked at the Herrscher with a puzzled expression. "I'm sorry, I may not have understood what you mean... if the crime is taking someone else's life, I admit that, whether it was malicious or not, I subjectively took someone else's life.

"But what you said is attempted malicious homicide. Please forgive my ignorance."

The Herrscher raised her hand, and just as she was about to say something, a new sword mark suddenly appeared on the table in front of her.

The Herrscher's words were suddenly blocked. She just quickly waved her hand and showed a scene in front of Cecilia.

[When the Schariac warrior appeared in the snowfields of Siberia, she had just sent a batch of children out of this hell on earth with the other members of the Snow Wolf Squad.

That was the third batch of children that the people of the Tower of Babylon had handed over to them this month.

Because sending the children away could not be done under the banner of Future City, several warlords who had long been critical of the Tower of Babylon joined forces to ambush them.

In order to send these children away safely, Siegfried confidently acted as a bait. The first thing he did when he limped back to their secret base was to give them a thumbs up.

But what responded to him was a group of well-trained Schariac warriors. They directly pinned Siegfried to the ground and immediately took all his weapons.

Siegfried didn't have time to resist, because the first thing he saw when he entered the door was Cecilia standing at the door, with the people who were holding him down.

She just stood there, with the same sense of distance as when she had first met Siegfried, as if what was supposed to happen a year ago was only happening now.

He didn't show any disappointment, just struggled and told Cecilia to run.

"Siegfried... I'm sorry," Cecilia lowered her eyes and looked at the people who had found her. "I should go back."

Siegfried didn't give her an answer, maybe because she had left after saying that, or maybe because Siegfried was really disappointed in her... at least that's what she thought at the time.]

The light and shadow on Cecilia's body seemed to tremble for a moment, but when the Herrscher looked at her, she could still only see a face full of confusion and bewilderment.

And some surprise.

"Are you blaming me for leaving the Snow Wolf Squad at that time, and even leading Siegfried and the others away, so that I couldn't save more people there?" Cecilia asked, then closed her eyes.

"If so, I plead guilty."

"Of course not, Miss Cecilia," the Herrscher laughed. Perhaps because Cecilia had admitted her mistake so frankly, her voice was full of respect. "What you faced was a dilemma.

"In the year after you returned to your family, you led the entire Schariac family to save and help more people than you did in the Snow Wolf Squad. You knew this from the beginning."

"Then why is the evidence you presented this segment?" Cecilia naturally opened her eyes and looked at the Herrscher. "I want to know, who is the person I wanted to maliciously kill?"

The Herrscher's hand gently rested on the scale beside her.

"Miss Cecilia Schariac... you are accused of attempting to kill a person when you were eighteen years old... and the other party's name is..."

"Snow Wolf Squad Vice-Captain, Cecilia."
