Faced with Siegfried's absurd invitation, Cecilia's answer was, of course, a rejection, and an unceremonious one at that.
She was, after all, the young lady of the Schariac family. Even when no one was around, she would not casually show her true self. In fact, for Cecilia, revealing her true self was a sign of incompetence.
So she refused quite decisively.
As someone who made all her peers, and even her entire generation, despair at the sight of her insurmountable talent, Cecilia was undoubtedly a polymath. She had learned self-defense and a certain degree of martial arts, and had achieved considerable success.
Unfortunately, her opponent was Siegfried, the current young master of the Kaslana family, a peculiar race that had reached the extreme of recklessness yet had not gone extinct.
So, naturally, she lost, and lost quite decisively.
This reason could convince most people. At least, Cecilia, wrapped in a blanket like a cake roll and carried on Siegfried's shoulder, felt that this reason was more than sufficient.
It wasn't that she didn't want to resist; it was that the other party was too strong, and she was a victim.
The bound Cecilia did not resist, because she knew that her resistance would be futile, and that her fierce attitude would only make the relationship between the Schariac and Kaslana families very tense.
Forced kidnapping and luring away were two different things. Cecilia did not want to damage the good relationship that had existed between the two families for thousands of years because of her.
So she didn't even resist, just verbally refused, and then was packed away by Siegfried along with her blanket.
But Cecilia was a little strange... it was said that Kaslanas were a very easy-going people, so why was this guy so arrogant and unreasonable?
She had already refused...
By the time the Schariac family discovered Cecilia was missing, it was the next morning, and by then, Siegfried had already gone a long way.
Along the way, Siegfried's escape was very smooth. From the route to the choice of transportation, everything was just right. It was obvious that this had been premeditated.
It wasn't until the third connecting flight landed that Cecilia understood why Siegfried's escape was so smooth.
"Yo, our Kaslana has finally decided to break free from the shackles of his family?" A woman with long, fiery red hair and a shark-toothed grin leaned against the airport entrance and whistled at Siegfried.
"I was biding my time!" Siegfried raised his hand in protest at the woman who was obviously there to pick him up.
"Alright, alright, it's your business anyway," the woman said, obviously a little exasperated. She waved her hand impatiently and then turned to leave.
"Mr. Siegfried, it's 'biding one's time' and 'hiding one's strength'," Cecilia, out of goodwill, corrected him.
Siegfried was stunned for a moment, then turned to stare at Cecilia with his clear eyes.
Cecilia met his gaze without any fear, wanting to read the emotions in his eyes.
Was it the annoyance of being exposed? Or the shame of realizing he had used the wrong idiom? Or was it the panic of losing face?
None of the above.
Siegfried silently took out his phone, lowered his head, and quickly looked up the two idioms Cecilia had mentioned. Then he suddenly looked up in shock and continued to stare at Cecilia.
As if he were looking at the only university student in the village.
"Amazing!" The extremely shocked tone made Cecilia feel a little puzzled again.
"?"
"Hahaha!" Siegfried slapped Cecilia on the shoulder with a hearty laugh. "I didn't expect you to be so young, but you know so much!"
"You did the right thing by running away with me!"
Correction, I was kidnapped.
Siegfried's emotions were not faked... but Cecilia was beginning to suspect that he was as good at disguising himself as she was.
It was really too strange... Could it be that all Kaslanas were this strange?
Cecilia, who had received a good education from a young age, really didn't understand Siegfried's actions.
"Why... Mr. Siegfried, do you have to run away from home?" After a moment of hesitation, Cecilia still asked this question.
"Why?" Siegfried habitually repeated Cecilia's question, and then answered without hesitation, "Of course, it's to be a hero!"
In the middle of the airport, Siegfried shouted with excitement, his voice so loud that it was enough to make half the people in the airport turn to look.
Siegfried and Cecilia instantly became the focus of the entire airport. In that moment, Cecilia couldn't help but consider whether shouting "kidnapping" would make other "heroes" appear.
She controlled this thought and didn't do it.
"Mr. Siegfried, you're too loud. We'll be exposed," Cecilia reminded him again. Siegfried's expression immediately became very awkward. He looked around guiltily and then sullenly pulled Cecilia away.
"I heard that the Kaslana family is a family of 'heroes'. Why does Mr. Siegfried, who was born into the Kaslana family, want to become a 'hero'?" Cecilia, who was being pulled along, did not struggle.
She was like a curious baby, constantly asking questions.
Every question would give Siegfried a headache for a while, but from beginning to end, he never showed a trace of annoyance.
"That's not the same, okay?" Siegfried shook his head, his deliberately lowered voice sounding a bit comical. "Look, is being a hero a profession? Or is it a talent?"
Before Cecilia could speak, Siegfried gave his own answer, "Of course not! How can someone be born a hero?!"
"Homu Potter?" Cecilia carefully said a name. Siegfried was stunned for a moment, and then his entire expression collapsed.
"Oh, right... hiss, no... that's not right... uh..." The meticulous kidnapper was broken down by a simple question from the kidnapped 'princess'. It took him a long time to recover.
"Even if it's Homu Potter, isn't it the same?! He wasn't born a hero, it's just that he became a hero too early!
Siegfried, who had broken free from his strange train of thought, blushed, his voice involuntarily getting louder again, "A hero is a hero because he has truly done those things, not because he has inherited a well-deserved title!"
"It's 'undeserved'."
Siegfried completely collapsed.
