Chapter 691 - Breakfast at the Kaslanas'

A strange ceiling...

Bianka stared blankly at the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

How extravagant... to install such a light in a small bedroom?

That was the thought of Bianka's still-muddled brain. She stared for a while before noticing something was wrong.

Hmm? Is this ceiling not right?

"Meow~"

At the corner of the bed, Stan stood up from the crumpled blanket, stretching his body in a big yawn.

The boss's territorial awareness is really strong. Yesterday I was thinking of sleeping on the bed, but the boss kicked me off...

Stan spent half the night wondering what he had done wrong, and finally could only attribute it to the boss's strong sense of territory.

After all, both the boss and he were Honkai Beasts, so what's wrong with the powerful boss having a little sense of territory? If it were him, never mind the bed, anyone who dared to appear within the city limits would be taught a good lesson.

As for those humans? They would have been dealt with long ago! Only the boss had the ability to endure until now.

As expected of the boss! It seems I still have a lot to learn!

The world's first Honkai Beast that could learn was born.

But Bianka didn't know any of this, only that Stan's gaze was a little strange.

But how strange could an ordinary cat's gaze be?

So Bianka gave up thinking and refocused her attention on the wrongness she had sensed.

Where is this... where is this place?!!

Bianka shot up from the bed, instinctively about to throw off the thick blanket.

But the feeling of instantly leaving the warm covers made Bianka's body shiver. She looked down and saw that she was only wearing a thin, loose-fitting shirt. She could even see her stomach through the collar...

So the feeling of her legs being bare wasn't an illusion?

These were definitely not her clothes!

Faster than she had kicked off the blanket, Bianka snatched it back from mid-air.

"Are you awake, little 'Kiana'?" A crisp knock sounded on the door, which was then gently pushed open a crack. A smiling head with a dangerous but capable hairstyle peeked in.

"Breakfast is..." Cecilia saw Bianka wrapped up like a cake roll at a glance. She stopped mid-sentence, and after a moment of silence, slowly withdrew her head.

"You can play a little longer then. Remember to wash up before coming to eat~" Cecilia's voice was full of understanding.

Bianka's eyes widened. Even if she was slow, she could feel that she had been misunderstood, but she didn't know what to say to explain herself, because she was still in shock from the change of scene and hadn't reacted yet.

But her body didn't want to be wrongly accused like this, and she struggled a little.

So, without using enough force to tear the blanket, the last thing Cecilia saw was a chubby worm bouncing on the bed, then wriggling to break free.

The door closed. Cecilia, wearing an apron, took a deep breath at the door, unable to get the image of Bianka out of her mind for a while.

After standing at the door for a good few seconds, Cecilia finally broke into a smile.

It seems this child is quite lively by nature...

With a smile, Cecilia hummed a cheerful tune and returned to the kitchen to continue her work.

There was still a lot to do today. Siegfried had to inform the others about the Sandstorm Emperor, Kira had a new commission today, and Salome and Nicholas wouldn't be back until evening...

It seems the task of helping Bianka rebuild her confidence has fallen to me.

Their bedrooms were all on the second floor or above. About half an hour later, Bianka slowly came down the stairs.

Hearing the noise, Cecilia looked back and saw Bianka's hands on the railing, her head peeking out timidly to look at her. The sight almost melted Cecilia's heart.

Bianka had already changed out of the ill-fitting, adult-sized clothes from yesterday. Last night, after Bianka had fallen asleep, Cecilia had quietly changed her into a new set.

Since they didn't have any children's clothes, Cecilia could only find the smallest size for Bianka.

The shirt that Bianka could see her stomach through was one Cecilia had borrowed from Shigure Kira.

Since no pants would fit, Cecilia had spent some time this morning making a set for Bianka from her own clothes.

For a Schariac, making clothes was the easiest thing in the world.

It seems my skills are not bad. This child looks even cuter than yesterday.

Kiana was this cute back then too!

Speaking of which... according to the information released by the Fire MOTHs on [Spark], after they dealt with things here, Kiana should be returning to the Fire MOTHs base, ARC City, right?

Should I go and see her?

Cecilia pondered, but her hands didn't slow down at all.

"Have you washed up yet?" Cecilia beckoned to Bianka, who was hiding her body behind a hollow railing on the stairs. "Come and eat, it's more delicious when it's hot."

As Cecilia beckoned, Bianka's gaze fell on the dining table beside her.

There were only two breakfasts on the large table, but in the center was a large loaf of bread that had been cut, large enough to feed a family for several days.

Bianka looked back at Cecilia, then repeatedly checked her own condition, confirming that there was nothing unusual and that there would be no sudden incidents. Only then did she cautiously descend the stairs and walk to the dining table.

Cecilia pulled out a chair for Bianka, making it easier for her to sit down. This gentleness, similar to Rita's, made Bianka a little dazed.

"Thank you..." she whispered shyly, quickly climbing onto the chair and then looking at her "breakfast."

A bowl of what seemed to be a thick soup, a plate of fried eggs and bacon, a basket of green lettuce in front of her, a piece of butter wrapped in tin foil on the side, and a bag of shredded cheese.

And a blowtorch.

Bianka stared at the blowtorch in a daze, until Cecilia picked it up and aimed it at the bread in front of her.
