Sylas could still feel the eyes on him throughout the fight. He frowned and once again scanned the surroundings with his senses but couldn't find it.
Sylas left the area and headed back.
Major Kyle and the others quickly dealt with the low-level zombies and finally saw what they were surrounding.
It was the remains of humans, and it looked like they had just died. Red blood dyed the road, and severed limbs were scattered. Brain matter was spilled on the road along with flesh and blood.
The visual was disturbing.
"Oh my God!"
"These people seem to be survivors too."
"Looks like they just died now."
"If we had gotten here earlier, they might have been saved."
Blegh!
The soldiers and ability users discussed, and some even retched and vomited upon seeing it.
When Sylas arrived, Major Kyle turned to him and asked, "Did you just fight with something?"
Sylas nodded and said, "Some mutated stray dogs." He didn't say much, and Major Kyle didn't ask more.
