IMPERIUM OF MAN - IMPERIAL GUARD 8TH CADIAN REGIMENT
Corporal Ein. Last name unknown or is unbestowed at birth. Abandoned at birth on Cadia before being accepted into an orphanage run by the Adepta Sororitas' Order of Our Martyred Lady. At an unknown point in time, the Canoness Superior Elyzabeth Fortier of the Order officially adopted Ein as her daughter. It's unspecified why Ein hasn't taken on the Canoness Superior's last name. However, it's confirmed that Ein is the unofficial mascot of the Order of Our Martyred Lady. The ideas of Ein being a mascot, and her presence and gifts bringing forth good fortune and the Emperor's protection are further reinforced after the Order conducted an off-world deployment to deal with a Greenskin infestation. It was a miraculous campaign that saw the Order of Our Martyred Lady come back to Cadia with minimal casualties if any at all. It's indeed a notion previously thought of as impossible, hence a gag order was issued by the Canoness Superior to protect Ein's possible saintly gifts. Canoness Superior Fortier's expectation is not unfounded when the Emperor Herself appeared to act on Ein's behalf.Being adopted by a high-ranking Sister of Battle, it would've been normal for Ein to train and become one as well. However, life happened and the Order of Our Martyred Lady was deployed off-world, and Ein, finding herself bothered by the chains of faith and duty, joined the Cadian Whiteshields at the beginning of her teen. She soon graduated from the Whiteshields and joined the Regulars at record speed and with flying colors. This is the reason why the decorated Cadian 8th Regiment took notice and called dib on her name. The rest, as one would put it, is history. Ein fell under Sergeant Johnson's command as a Private and had been part of the Platoon until she was 16 of age. During this time, Ein's 3rd Platoon participated in numerous skirmishes and missions and the adopted Cadian accrued enough merit to skip two ranks to become a Corporal. She never once leveraged her connection to the Order of Our Martyred Lady to further her standing, and most in the Regiment didn't know of this.Corporal Ein has a diverse set of talents and a working, thinking, blessed mind and mentality. It's observed that Ein exudes an approachable and dependable charisma, one that even seems to affect her affiliated unit in a positive manner. Even since Ein's arrival and her unofficial rise to be the second-in-command of Sergeant Johnson's Platoon, 3rd Platoon has seen a drastic increase in effectiveness. Deeper scrutiny unveils Ein's relentless effort to get to know and understand the rest of the Platoon. Most important of all, Ein seeks ways to increase the unit's combat effectiveness and survivability. With an impeccable battlefield aptitude, Ein has helped Sergeant Johnson steer his Platoon and drive them deep into where the enemy hurt the most, yet as if blessed by the Emperor Herself, they never get out worse than how they came in. Ein's most accomplished feat thus far has been her being the deciding factor in the draw between 3rd Platoon and Kharak Squad of the Salamander Space Marine Chapter. This borderline absurd individual and by extension the rest of her Platoon are being subjected to the constant oversight of the Joint Task Force, not to limit them but to see if they can be sharpened even further as part of yet another elite force in the organization.Other than her fighting prowess, Ein is also known for her approachable demeanor, loyalty to the Golden Throne, purity of faith, and innovative mind. That last part is echoed the most loudly by the Tech-priests affiliated with JTF. Even Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl himself has given Ein a Bolt of Approval, marking her as another creative member of the Adeptus Mechanicus' progressive faction. Thus far, the Corporal's scientific prowess has resulted in the massive overhaul of the Imperium of Man's laser-based weaponry: from the most common Lasrifles to the largest lance batteries upon a voidship. Ein's most recent contribution to the Imperium, and by affiliation with the entirety of the Imperial Guards, is the creation of the Droideka Imperial Robots. It's with these two proposed changes that Ein will start her first steps in slowly, but surely, improving upon the Imperium's firepower and endurance. It's hard to determine her exact likes and dislikes, but it's without a doubt that Ein pursues the betterment of the Imperium as a whole. Nonetheless, it must be noted that Ein only does so out of necessity. Her mindset dictates that the family she has in the Order of Our Martyred Lady will only be safe when the rest of the Imperium is safe. This is Ein's main, if not her only driving force.Currently, at 16 years of age, Corporal Ein is surprisingly shorter than an average Cadian female. However, don't let her small stature fool you for she packs a surprisingly healthy and agile body. While Ein's strength isn't the best, she is approaching what's considered the top of what a normal human female can achieve. It's well-known that Ein has astounding eyesight, capable of accurately hitting a target 800 meters away with just ironsights. Ein fully understands her physicality and knows how to utilize it well in her common roles of scout, sniper, and even shielder should the situation require it. It's expected that she will use her combat abilities to the fullest in the Battle for Installation 08.Ein has short black hair and the Cadians' trademarked purple eyes. Rather than a normally fearsome Guardswoman, Ein is seemingly harmless, possibly quite cuddly and beautiful even. However, beneath her benign exterior is a girl who will bring woe to her enemies, no matter who or what they are.Special Addendum: Alert! Caution is advised when allocating recaf ration to Corporal Ein!
Slime-san's thoughts: Well, there we have it, that's our Ein in a nutshell. Between her skills and perks, which are: Battle Meditation, Debuff Immunity, Psychic Null, Skillshare, Abyss Totem Stigmata, and Spectro Attunement... I reckon Ein already has enough supernatural heat packed in the early game. But then I remember that she still has those 9 Cosmic Cookies sitting around in the fridge and I realize: Fuck, how should I balance around that? Understandably, I have no idea how to do so when I am wide awake without recaf, so I will be leaving the rewards from the Cookies for future me and you, the readers, to deal with. Ein's a fun character to write a tale for, and the world she is living in is no doubt an interesting challenge to take on as a normal writer. And interestingly enough, other than the color of her eyes, Ein is basically a carbon copy of Ruby Rose, which is an unintentional design choice on my part. Some readers suggested that Ein's overall dorkiness and energy were like that of Ruby, so I say: Fuck it, we ball. I brought Weiss aboard as Ein's battle-buddy and as her bodyguard, with the both of them contrasting each other nicely in both appearance and mentality. I hope I will be writing their banters well enough, with Weiss reacting to every stupid thing that the normally wise Ein managed to concoct. As for whoever put it into my head that Ein is just Ruby-but-40K, congrats, you win a Cosmic Cookie.

IMPERIUM OF MAN - Order of Our Martyred Lady
Canoness Superior Elyzabeth Fortier. The Sister that commands the Order of Our Martyred Lady and a personage of fine beauty and deadly prowess. She's Ein's adopted mother and is viewed as a maternal figure by the rest of the Order as well.Elyzabeth is a Sister of faith like any Sister of Battle worth a dime. However, what many people fail to acknowledge is that her faith is not that of zealotry. Instead, she possesses a faith that is pure, unbroken, and untarnished. This grants Elyzabeth a mental faculty unmatched by any other Sisters of Battle. She can not just inspire and soothe others with her motherly tone but also barks precise and clear commands in the most dangerous of battles. She fights wars not with only an iron-cladded faith but also the clarity of a seasoned commander. Elyzabeth doesn't pride herself as the most devout or the most valiant warrior, but she is without a doubt one of the more decorated Sisters in the Adepta Sororitas. As a leader, Elyzabeth doesn't shy away from communicating with her Sisters and exchanging their experiences. Elyzabeth even writes research papers and books in the Arts of War, leadership, and faith, making sure that they're untainted and acceptable by the Ecclesiarchy's standards, before sharing them for free across the Imperium. This garners her much accolades and influence, and the Ecclesiarchy's direct backing. However, the person involved doesn't leverage them much unless necessary. Elyzabeth's approach to both military and non-military manners also reflects on the rest of the Order of Our Martyred Lady, where other Sisters seek to follow her footsteps. Thus making Elyzabeth's tenure as Canonness Superior one of the more prosperous and competent times of the Order. In Elyzabeth's personal life, she is surprisingly more approachable than one may expect from a Sister of faith. Her maternal aura is strong when she brings it all to bear, but only those she trusts can enjoy its full manifestation. Most of the time, others can only see her stalwart leadership figure. In private, she enjoys spending time with Ein, her adopted daughter, the most. Whether it's just the two of them sitting by a fireplace and chatting or bonding on a trip to the firing range, Elyzabeth cherishes the occasions. In a contradicting, possibly even blasphemous manner, Ein's position in Elyzabeth's heart is the same as that of the Emperor of Man herself. Something that shouldn't have been in someone with faith such as Elyzabeth, but that's what makes her all the more human in a way. With her prioritizing Ein that much, however, it doesn't mean that Elyzabeth doesn't care for her fellow Sisters just as much.Elyzabeth Fortier is a great leader in the eyes of her fellow Sisters in the Order of Our Martyred Lady. Caring, patient, yet suitably harsh when needed, it doesn't surprise anyone when the Sisters consider Elyzabeth to be their mother, friend, and well, sister. Through thick and thin, through a shoddy day or the longest of prayer nights,... Elyzabeth will always be there for them, and in turn, they will follow their Canoness Superior anywhere, anytime. Palatine Tsavorae is but one of the many examples beneath Elyzabeth's command.Elyzabeth is tall, beautiful, and well-endowed in the correct places. Yet, her beauty is that of a martial warrior, a mother tigress poised to protect its cubs, not that of a frail lily on the battlefield. She has a head of lustrous black hair and exotic purple eyes, easily mistaken for a Cadian. Well, she is Cadian by blood, but she wasn't born there and this part is besides the point... Elyzabeth can be quite physical in displaying her tenderness to the people she cares about, with the chief example being Ein and her tendency to be smothered by her adopted mother. It isn't a surprise for the pair to be spotted sleeping together with Ein being the little spoon in Elyzabeth's embrace. But of course, not even a whiff of this information is to leave the premise of the Order of Our Martyred Lady. Still, many of the Sisters in the Order seem to find that a door to a whole new world is opened to them when they see the way Elyzabeth and Ein adore one another. The faint scent of lily has long since become the favorite aroma of the Order's candles and incense.
Slime-san's thoughts: Honestly, Elyzabeth is one of my riskiest OCs. Warhammer AU as this fic may be, I am still afraid that I will fail to juggle Elyzabeth's role as both a leader of a Sisters of Battle group and a mother to Ein. I am but a casual fan who wants to bring some light to this particular setting, after all, so I dearly hope that she has been interesting enough to read about. In case you haven't noticed, she is an important figure, if not the most important one in Ein's life currently, and Ein's development as a character will most certainly have its roots traced back to Elyzabeth. A more mildly interesting fact will be Elyzabeth's appearance as a character. She is nearly 100% based on Strasbourgh from Azur Lane. Why? Because Ein and Elyzabeth look like an actual pair of blood-related mother and daughter that way. Yeah, I am that cultured of a person.
