Sunlight slipped gently through the curtains when Xia Yuqing slowly opened her eyes. Her whole body felt sore, as if she had been run over by a truck, but even through the ache, a faint, happy warmth lingered in her chest.
She turned her head and saw Lu Jinchen sleeping beside her, his face relaxed and peaceful.
For a moment, she just stared.
The calm look on his face… the way his lashes touched his skin… the warmth of his body next to hers…
A small smile rose to her lips.
