By the time it was morning more of Cassius's guards had appeared all over the chapel. Both Charles and Mrs Rath had been taken under questioning, brought away in the dark carriage with other guards busily inspecting the whole building and the village itself. Arabella who had exhausted all her energy had sat down quietly outside the chapel, staring at the people as they brought out the brown coffin where her mother had been sealed inside.
There were a few unfamiliar faces but notably one who had talked to her first while offering a cup of warm water, the older man named Jasper. Upon finding her outside the building, he had offered her a warm water inside a cup, striking up a question as she took the cup water from him, "Miss Arabella wasn't it?"
She nodded at his question and saw his light red eyes which meant that he's a human turned vampire.
