His mission this time, aside from capturing the Magma Fruit user, was also to test out the effectiveness of Edo Tensei shinobi in other worlds.
After all, until Orochimaru cracked the chat group's limitations, only Zoan Devil Fruit users could travel between worlds.

"After I get back, I need Haiichi to seal away my memories of this… tch."
Minato let out a pained, helpless laugh.
Nevertheless, he followed Orochimaru's instructions and inserted the talismans into the bodies of the four Edo Tensei shinobi.
As Minato formed the hand seals and activated the control tags, the four resurrected Kage simultaneously raised their heads—
four pairs of empty, lifeless eyes all turning toward Akainu.
"Lava Flow!"
Sakazuki immediately sensed unmistakable hostility. His expression darkened as torrents of magma erupted from beneath him, spreading outward like a roaring flood toward Minato and the four Edo Tensei shinobi.
For Paramecia Devil Fruits, awakening allowed users to assimilate their surroundings—like how Doflamingo's String-String Fruit could turn everything into thread under his control.
But when a Logia Devil Fruit awakened, calling its user a walking natural disaster was no exaggeration.
Sakazuki could even transform the earth beneath his feet into a burning sea of molten lava, manipulating this "ocean" to launch attacks on his enemies.
"So it is a technique similar to Lava Release…"
Minato was surprised, but did not immediately use Flying Thunder God to teleport away from the lava torrent. He first wanted to observe the combat capabilities of these Edo Tensei shinobi.

A wave of flowing sand surged up from beneath the ground to confront the incoming magma torrent. Though the high heat melted the sand easily, the unending flow succeeded in slowing the lava's advance.
"Water Release: Water Shockwave!"
Next to act was the Second Mizukage, Hōzuki Gengetsu. He didn't use his signature techniques; instead, he unleashed massive amounts of water to cool and solidify the molten rock.
"Sand and water…? What's going on? Are these guys all Logia users?
And why do they feel… off somehow…?"
Seeing his attack countered, Sakazuki didn't immediately continue. Instead, unease crept in.
Hot-tempered didn't mean stupid—Sakazuki could still judge a situation. The blue-haired woman with ice powers similar to Kuzan's was already troublesome enough. But facing five more individuals who clearly possessed considerable power… even he might fall here.
Worse, Sakazuki realized he couldn't sense the signatures of these four shinobi at all. Something was very wrong.
"Hell Stab: Four-Finger Thrust!"
Just as Sakazuki considered retreating, a lightning-wreathed figure charged at incredible speed.
"Damn it! Lightning? A Rumble-Rumble Fruit user?!
Dark Hound!"
Unable to dodge in time, Sakazuki punched directly, allowing the Third Raikage's lightning-coated arm to pierce his chest before smashing the man's head apart with a counterpunch.
But something felt off. This supposed lightning Logia user had not turned into lightning—and the sensation of Sakazuki's fist told him something wasn't right.
Before he could process it, his Observation Haki shrieked warnings in his mind.
"Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"
The Second Tsuchikage appeared in midair, sending a pillar of white light down toward the impaled Sakazuki, disintegrating him into atoms.
Unfortunately, the Dust Release struck a moment too late. Sakazuki had already turned into magma to avoid the attack entirely—and in doing so, he escaped the Third Raikage's grip.
"Sand Binding!"
Shamon attacked again. In this ruined battlefield—once the stage for Sakazuki and Esdeath's fight—there was an endless supply of sand for him to manipulate.
Two enormous hands of sand lunged at Sakazuki from both sides. At the same moment, a "child" dressed similarly to the Second Mizukage darted toward him.
"Great Eruption!"
Not wanting to keep being surrounded and attacked, Sakazuki pulled back with a sudden retreat, blasting forward a massive fist of magma. The eruption shattered the two giant hands made of sand—and swallowed the persistent "child" chasing him.
Boom!
The "child" engulfed in magma exploded instantly. The huge cloud of steam rapidly cooled and solidified the magma, turning it into pitch-black basalt.
The cooled steam then gathered once more, reforming into a "child" identical to the one before.
This was the signature technique of the Second Mizukage, Hōzuki Gengetsu—an endlessly cycling explosive ninjutsu known as "Jōki Bōi"
As long as Gengetsu's real body remained alive, this repeating chain of explosions could continue indefinitely. Theoretically, the Second Mizukage could annihilate an entire massive army single-handedly.
"Hell Stab: Three-Finger Thrust!"
Before Sakazuki could even plan how to deal with the remaining enemies, his Observation Haki picked up another incoming attacker.
This time, prepared in advance, Sakazuki successfully avoided the strike—only to freeze for a moment when he saw who had attacked him.
It was the Third Raikage, whose skull he had already shattered earlier.
Even a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user with an awakened body couldn't survive after having their head destroyed, let alone keep fighting like the Third Raikage was doing now.
