Chapter 92 - The Fate of Silent Desire

Later Miria in the kitchen.

Miria tried as best she could to distract herself. In the kitchen, she was busy cutting vegetables, hoping to occupy her mind. Yet the torrid images of what had happened at school kept popping up in his head. His cheeks flushed.

"It's useless…" she sighed, putting down the knife. I can't think of anything else...

She remained silent for a moment, staring into space before whispering:

"But… it was so good," she admitted, her lips quirking in a shy smile.

Then she started again:

— What if I left him in this state for a while? she thought, a little amused.

— No... I can't do that. If something is going to happen between us, I would like it to be... consensual, she added, blushing.

She sat down in a chair, sighed again and rested her head in her hands.

— But what do I do now?

Suddenly, his phone vibrated on the table.

- Hello ? she said, answering the phone.

—Hello my lady! Guess what? called Kari's cheerful voice.

- What ? asked Miria, without much energy.

- Well, I'm going to be transferred to you! So you might see me often!

— Ah… great… replied Miria, falsely cheerful.

"Miria, what's wrong?" You don't look good.

— No, it's okay.

— Stop, you can hear it in your voice! And then Alix told me that you were elsewhere today. What's going on?

Miria sighed.

— You know what? It's better that you come… and bring Alix too. Maybe it's urgent.

"Okay, we'll be right there," Kari replied before hanging up.

A few minutes later, Miria welcomed them home. Kari and Alix sat down, noticing his troubled look.

"Okay, are you going to tell us what's happening to you? Alix asked in a serious tone.

"It's about Asher," Miria whispered.

At these words, the other two looked at each other, intrigued.

"The spell I cast on him… I don't think it was the one I expected," she admitted, ashamed.

Alix frowned.

— What do you mean, "not the one planned"? Do you at least know the name of the spell you cast on him?

Miria didn't answer right away. She took her grimoire, opened it and pointed to the page.

Seeing the name, Kari and Alix were speechless.

"No… dog," Alix whispered.

"The Veneficium Desiderii…" Kari murmured, her eyes widening.

— The what? asked Miria, more and more lost.

"The Spell of Silent Desire," Alix explained.

Kari stood up, pacing back and forth.

— This spell... it awakens all of a person's deepest desires, making them intense, uncontrollable. It's a dangerous enchantment, Miria.

Miria sighed, running a hand over her face.

— Oh… great.

- Why do you say that ? Kari said in an amused tone. He would have already provided you... with certain care?

Miria turned scarlet red.

— Kari! she protested.

— Sorry, sorry! Kari replied with a laugh.

Alix, more serious, continued:

— Miria, we can't help you if you don't tell us everything.

After a long silence, Miria finally told them everything.

When she finished, a heavy silence fell. Alix and Kari were red with embarrassment—although Kari, despite her embarrassment, seemed oddly amused.

"Honestly… I should have kept quiet," Alix muttered.

—Is it that embarrassing? asked Miria, ashamed.

—Are you kidding? Kari exclaimed. It's downright incredible!

Miria sighed, confused.

But Kari continued, more thoughtfully:

"After all, I didn't think Asher… would have designs on you after your mother.

Miria frowned.

—What do you mean by that?

Kari wanted to answer, but Alix nudged her. Too late.

Miria stared at her, her eyes wide.

"My mother…was dating Asher?"

Alix hesitated, then said softly:

— Yes, but don't get carried away. It was in high school, they stayed together for three months, no more.

Miria remained silent, shocked.

—And how old is he…exactly?

"About one hundred and eighty height years," Alix replied without hesitation.

— A hundred… what?! Miria shouted.

Kari raised her hand.

"Oh, I'm thirty-three," she said with a smile.

"And me about eighty," Alix added calmly.

Miria was speechless.

— Asher is a...vampire wizard, isn't he?

"Yes," Alix confirmed. He was born a wizard, then transformed.

— But… how? asked Miria, still in shock.

The two women exchanged a look.

"That… it's up to him to tell you," Alix said finally. This is his story.

Miria slumped on the sofa, her gaze blank.
