All night, I tried to come up with reasons as to why it would be a terrible idea to join Edith and her girls, but each idea seemed more stupid than the last.
It wasn't that I was scared of joining them, quite the contrary actually. I was worried that I'd enjoy it too much and have it ripped away from me. One thing I'd learned from all my time out and about was not to get attached. This world had a way of snatching good things away from us.
"Princess."
My head snapped up and I found Rowan leaning against the bathroom door. He was watching me with concerned eyes, his hands crossed over his chest. I'd forgotten where I was briefly. It was always easier to think in the bathroom.
"Is everything okay?" he asked and I nodded.
