The head then trembled and turned at a disgusting rate and angle before eventually letting out an ear-piercing screech.
Charlotte quickly ran away out of fear, stumbling back into Lillian and flinching.
Lillian watched as the noblewoman dashed away from her. She tilted her head before smiling.
Turning her attention back to the centipede, which continued to screech loudly, she felt a subtle tremor pass through the ground.
"W-what's going on!" Charlotte yelled, looking towards Lillian for answers.
In response, the white-haired girl shrugged, "Just get prepared for what is to come next. You don't need an answer right now, right?"
Just as Charlotte was about to respond, her words became stuck in her throat, and in the corner of her eyes, she watched as the centipede sank into the ground.
She did as Lillian told and got ready for what was to come.
She looked towards the hole it had disappeared into, watching as the mouth widened and rose.
