The man's back was turned to me, but I could sense this menacing energy filling the room, like a dark fog rolling in, making me so uncomfortable.
I felt like I was suffocating when nothing was holding me. I tried screaming, but my voice seemed to have gotten stuck in my throat, trapped behind a barricade of fear that refused to budge.
Looking down to the floor, I saw a shattered cup and vase near me, mocking me for my carelessness.
I blink my watering eyes as I watched as the man's body began to shift, his movements jerky and unnatural.

His face started to twist, contorting into a grotesque grin that rip across his face like a cruel gash.
Recognizing that grin, I knew the way his eyes would crinkle at the corners, knew the way his lips would curl up into a snarl, baring yellowish teeth that had been neglected by its owner.
