..av…
"A..ava…"
Why the fuck is she here?! Ava's almond shaped eyes shoot open causing Aelita to flinch back ever so slightly. Their downward position shifts back to normal as Ava grabs Aelita's collar. "Why are you here?!"
Aelita doesn't flinch, simply throws her hands up. "I don't know! I was talking to The Eldest, then my vision went white!"
"You fucking eggplant." The coral haired woman releases the purple haired girl with a heavy sigh. "Ok! We're gonna have to kill this thing."
"What- Kill?!" Aelita sprints up to Ava, her eyes yet to narrow from the earlier shock."There has to be another way!"
Droplets of sweat drip off of the harbinger's oceanic shirt, sparkling amongst the rocky terrain. "NO! THERE'S NOT! NOT ONE YET, BUT THIS IS THE BEST ONE SO FAR!" The coral haired woman turns back around and aggressively face palms. "I'm sorry it's just… I didn't plan for you to be here to see this."
"No I get it…" Aelita looks into the cave behind Ava, as the cold air seeps out of it burning her already red eyes.
Would anyone want to live after the amount of hatred, despair, and just NEGATIVITY-whatever this rift energy- causes… Ava looks around Aelita and where they landed. "... Where's my orphan?"
The eggplant's head slowly turns to follow the taller woman. "W-what?" "
Ava's ear twitches at her friend's confused tone."Bipedal fox, orange and red, Sassy/Snarky; ring any bells?"
"Deluxe?! I thought she went back in looking for you…" The two girls look at each other in silence as a biting cold blows past.
Please just say she's safe I don't want- no I don't think I can handle her being dead or captured. The wind howls almost like it's nervous or afraid, then a twig whacks Ava on the back of her head. "That's fucking ne-"
Ava freezes as she sees Deluxe hugging the cliff side, like her life depends on it.
"Ha! Sassy cunt! Can't sink or fall huh?!" Deluxe lets out a low howl that'd be easy to miss in the roaring wind. "Eh I love you too." Ava walks up to the cliff side and recalls the disciplined fox.
Aelita looks at the coral haired master with a pained yet understanding look as the two venture towards the lush cave.
"Mother…" A booming voice whispers in the air.
"Mother..!" It repeats; sounding more a-kin to a desperate child than a broken adult. "get up please…" The wind howls like a victorious Houndoom, the foliage around the cave ruffles producing a sound similar to muffled voices as the two trainers halt at the entrance.
Ava holds her arm out beside her, like she was guarding Aelita. "Aelita, stay from behind me. These battles get… haptic."
"NO! Leave my mother alone!" The cloudy sky furls the sun with increasingly dark clouds. "It's so cold, so hot…" Statia's old normal look slowly gives way to its current form as the rocky mountain mutates into a snow and magma hellscape. "WHERE'S MY MOTHER!!!!" Snow hails down as lightning clashes against the sky itself.
You'll see her soon enough. Ava tosses out a masterball. "King, let's roll!" The thorned quadrupedal doesn't look back to his trainer as the stench of rusty metal and burned flesh welcomes him and his standing back barbs.
Statia releases a languid grumble, the glowing red in its eyes engulfs its entire body with an ever growing steam. "I can keep the house safe-" Their mouth trembles as it stretches open, pushing air into the lava-coolant mixture; creating a sickly gargling sound. "until you wake up…"
King won't last one turn but Morning Sun would help Char and Shuppet sweep. King growl -sharp and exaggerated- looking at his coequal from the corner of his eye. Statia's Cramped mouth flashes red and white, oozing steam from the corner of their mouth. "Use morning sun when I toss you up!"
"Ahead of you!" Aelita's curious voice barks from the right–as lightning strikes, deafening the Eruption of Steam from the child.
Now! Nidoran gets hurled into the air before Ava makes a mad dash for a clearing.
Lightning strikes King's glowing horn while a red and white stream beams out of the cave, leaving a crater as its wake. The light from King's horn travels up the thunderbolt, like a king's absolute orders as the clouds clear for second daybreak.
A red light consumes King as he's recalled in the once eerie-now serene silence. "You continue to live up to your name." Ava tosses out a pokeball and netball. "Char, Fletch! Rift time."
Char yelps as their paws touch the Scorching Sand under them. "Oup, my bad, I didn't notice. Fletch can you carry the poor guy?" A short chirp is followed by a long chirp before Fletch's small talons grip on Char.
A rising metallic whine echoes through the cave like the blaring horn of a truck. "Shit, faster than I thought. Fletch I want you to fling Char right as the beam goes for you two; Char you're gonna chomp on them when you can."
"Leave us alone!" Statia's thoughts act like a mental disruptor before another stream of blood and pus erupts from their mouth.
Fletch soars high in the sky as the trailing beam close in near and nearer to her tail feathers; realising this she dive bombs towards the 12 foot tall cub and flings the glowing fur missile.
Char's glowing teeth sink into the thick metal plates with a brittle crunch like rust riddled metal getting crushed.
"It hurts so much… WHY!!?" Statia sinks into the ground writhing in pain as its armour splits, glowing blood red.
The metal explodes, launching Char right into Ava as she puts two pokeballs back into her pocket. "I swear the next fight will be normal." firm pillow like hands scratch behind the Eevee's ear. "How about I punt you into him and see where you'd go from there?"
Crying reverberates in the cave, shaking the stalactites down from the ceiling and on to the trainer and pokemon. "Vevee…" Char replies with a determined look in their big eyes.
Ava picks up the golden Eevee and puts them under her pit like a football. A heavy shrill pierces the air as a blue light luminates the cave. I've found one way to honor the two of you… Ava's coral optics glance around the cave, each mark and peace of foliage dead and alive. Her leg cranks back as she loads the fur missile. You can finally rest in your own bed, in your own home.
Another stream of steam is fired, but it's not aimed for Char; it's aimed directly towards the human like a declaration of the end. I was hoping to save some of my energy for when this place explodes. Ava raises her arm, summoning a pink field to protect her as she's seemingly pushed back.
Char cracks the orb fused into Statia's back with a resounding thud. Ava recalls Char
Hearing her pokeball's soft mechanical *fwip* Ava bolts out of the cave. "Deluxe, Swaws! Collapse the cave now!" A pink beam runs rampant around the cave as sharp chirping howls, shaking stalactites and summoning bugs from beneath the earth. Rest in peace, together as Mother and Child…
Ava stands and watches as the time passes, letting the debris and dust settle as the winds finally die down. "Killing them is the only way… But I give their death a sense of honor, I mourn them; like that saying 'Lost but never forgotten'."
Aelita peers to Ava from a rock, before getting up and dusting her knees. "You should lead with that next time instead of lashing out;I can get that." A hill of snow falls to the silent wind.
The volcanic landscape slowly blows away like ash in the wind. "I'll do that if there's a next time" One last time Ava observes the scene. Watching as the snow scatters and the lava dries into the powdered hill top as the magma at the summit slowly ascends into the sky. What's left of the foliage transmorphs into metal gears and broken glass.
The silent serenity surrenders to the blaring alarm as the last bit of snow blows away. Ava looks at the hollowed exoskeleton of Statia. "Aelita, I want you to take my pokemon and go back for Keta. I'll contain the explosion then meet you guys at the village."
Aelita stutters on words yet spoken before ultimately exiting the room, letting the door close between her and Ava. Why, why am I running away?! I can't trust that she'd actually be in the village! Her heart pounds in time with her steps. Something in me just keeps saying she will like it's guaranteed…
Aelita pants at the top of the staircase and sees Keta lying beneath mewtwo, surrounded by a black haired woman and her Gothitelle. "Sensei!" She bolts over to the group with a pokeball in hand.
Crescent steps away from Keta giving Aelita space beside her father. "He's just unconscious, heavily injured but he'll live…" Her maroon eyes look at the stairwell, expecting a peek of coral.
Keta gently brushes Aelita's hair as she holds him. "I suppose this outcome is favourable…" He looks over to Crescent, who's wearing a face of indignation. "We can-"
"I wasn't waiting for you to wake up." Crescent looks to her Gothitelle and the Mewtwo, before a portal appears in front of the group. "I'll give her another five minutes before this place is flooded with lava. Get out on your own." She then departs into the portal.
Aelita wraps Keta's arm over her shoulder. "We can get out by then. Com on!" The daughter grunts as the two take their first step, leaving the room behind them.
...
Visible black steam and orange magma stay caged behind a pink wall of energy. I just need to hold it all for a little while longer… It's not that much of a strain. A drop of blood splashes and evaporates on the ground.
"I should let you die." Crescent's voice reverberates in the room and resonates in Ava's head. "Was last time not enough sufficient for you? Every time you see a chance to throw away your life you just run at the chance!"
"Hey Lunia." The built up pressure makes another crack in the dam. "They left yet? I need to time this."
The Gothitelle chimes and Crescent sighs heavily. "Yes."
Ava lets the wall down and forms a bubble around them. "I need just a few more minutes. The lava needs to depressurize without blowing this place to hell."
"Are you going to do this every time?" Crescent's soft adamant voice softens further. "Clean up everyone else's mess? You could easily just become a Champion,Master,Professor; whatever you want to be with whoever you want to be with."
Ava smirks as a river of blood leaves her nose. "I'm given another chance at life, where Ava or Ana or whoever I was died. I can't live knowing that Bastards like Xen exist, I won't live without my mother; Real or not…"
I'll take care of them. Crescent lets a few minutes pass before walking up to Ava and seeing the blood trickle from the corner of her eye. "Even unconscious, you insist on getting your goal done…" She looks back to her Gothitelle and another portal opens. "Mewtwo, finish her job here."
"Understood Mistress Crescent."
