Barry couldn't believe his eyes as he watched Ares beat Diana to a pulp and then rip her in two, killing her.
But this didn't end with the death of Diana.
After Diana died, a huge rainstorm appeared out of nowhere, making Ares look up at the sky and roar with anger.
"Was this really the weapon you created to destroy me, Father? Don't tell me you have gone soft after all these years? I want answers, Father. I demand you come forth!" Ares shouts in anger.
His spiteful words seemed to have stirred up the sky as the rainstorm got more violent.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning came shooting down at extreme speed. Fast enough that Ares couldn't dodge it.
But Barry could see it as he was inside the speed force. The lightning bolt pierces through Ares's chest, impaling him into the ground.
Ares's eyes are wide in disbelief as he was granted death before he could even put forth his case.
His body started to crack under the overwhelming amount of energy being pumped into it. Ares then started expanding like a balloon before exploding, just like he did when Diana dealt the final blow in the timeline Barry interfered in.
Barry couldn't believe that not only did Diana die, but Ares, too, was killed by Zeus, and the guy didn't even bother appearing before Ares.
Then what was the point of him even giving birth to Diana? Was it just to give Ares a false hope before destroying him?
Another thing Barry is surprised by is how easily Zeus managed to kill Ares. But he expects nothing less from the king of gods himself.
The surrounding scenery changes, and Barry's consciousness returns to his bedroom.
'Fuck, I really fucked up the future, didn't I?' Barry wonders.
In this reality, Diana was meant to die, and it made perfect sense, as Barry never saw or even heard the mention of Diana in the TV shows.
But Barry went to the past and changed Diana's fate. He saved her from dying. This is a major change in the timeline, as Diana is not just a random character whose life or death won't impact the timeline.
She is a demigoddess, daughter of Zeus, and her existence in this timeline will completely change the future that Barry thinks he knows.
'Fuck it. What's done is done,' Barry says and closes his eyes before going to sleep.

The next morning, Barry wakes up and goes to work. He tries to see if anything is different, but everything seems to be the way it is.
There is Joe, Captain Singh, and every other colleague he knows personally. There seems to be no change in their behavior or life.
Barry feels a bit relieved knowing that he won't have to adjust to a completely new timeline. He then immediately gets to work. He wants to finish all his pending cases so that he will have more free time for the holidays.
Luckily, super speed is a hell of a superpower to have when it comes to dealing with boring tasks.
Finishing work early, Barry heads to S.T.A.R. Labs to see if there is any change in Caitlin or Cisco's lives, but their lives too seem unaffected.
Of course, Barry didn't go around asking them about their lives as it would come off as very suspicious, especially in front of another time traveler like Dr. Wells.
For now, Barry will have to act normal and slowly discover the changes that might have occurred in the lives of people around him, because he doesn't believe that everything remained the same, even though he has completely rewritten the course of history by saving Diana's life.
And not just Diana's life. Even Steve was meant to die in the past, but he went on to live as well. Barry wonders what factors were affected due to Steve being saved as well.
Curious, Barry searched for Steve Trevor and found some information on him. A World War two hero who lived till his eighties, dying in 1995 from old age. He had a very successful and respected career, becoming a four-star general.
He got married to someone named Diana Prince. Reading this name put a smile on his face, seeing that Diana and Steve went on to marry each other.
He even found a photo of Steve and Diana in their wedding outfits.
But after that, he couldn't find any pictures of Steve with Diana in them. As if Diana had just disappeared from his life.
He found a few pictures of Steve with his comrades and generals of other countries, signing some war treaties, but nothing else.
'What happened?' Barry wondered.
"What are you looking at?" He suddenly heard Caitlin's voice from behind. Luckily, he had already swiped down the page, so there were no photos on display.
"Nothing, just reading some old articles," Barry says, putting his phone in his pocket and turning to look at her.
"Then why are you acting suspicious?" Caitlin asks.
Not wanting to come up with weak excuses. He puts his hands on her waist, pulls her closer, and locks his lips with hers, kissing her deeply.
"Mnnnn ~ someone will see us~" Caitlin says, pulling away from the kiss, flustered and breathless.
Barry smiles and disappears with Caitlin in a flash, taking her to a remote part of the lab where there is no one or cameras to spy on them.
Soon, the sound of clapping and Caitlin's moans can be heard, but there is no one else to listen to them other than Barry and Caitlin themselves.
