Chapter 307 - CH: 305 Great Destruction

{Chapter: 305 Great Destruction}

A thunderous blast echoed across the battlefield as the tank's barrel flared, launching a high-explosive shell straight toward William.

But in the blink of an eye, William vanished from the spot like a shadow dispersing in sunlight. When he reappeared, it was atop the very tank that had fired upon him. His long coat that reformed fluttered in the wind as he looked down, eyes glowing faintly.

"Your aim is pathetic," William said with cold amusement. "Let me show you how a real cannon works."

He raised one hand, and with a deafening crack, the earth below surged. A massive rock spike erupted like a spear, impaling the tank from beneath. The steel was pierced like paper. Screams died in the metal, and crimson blood ran down the jagged stone tip.

"See that?" William said, his tone darkly playful as the soldiers inside were silenced. "Now that... is how a cannon makes a statement."

Before the dust could settle, a guttural roar shook the air.

"ROOOAARR!!" The Hulk came barreling toward William like a living avalanche, his fury igniting the battlefield. He smashed into the tank, flipping it like a toy, sending debris and fire skyward.

"Still charging in headfirst, I see," William muttered, lips curling into a smile as the jade juggernaut lunged forward with a monstrous punch.

BOOM!

The Hulk's massive fist slammed into the tip of William's black machete—an impact that caused the earth to tremble. But instead of splitting the blade, the machete pierced into the Hulk's palm, slicing deep.

"ROAAARR!" Hulk's eyes bulged wide as pain flared through his body. Even his unbreakable flesh wasn't immune to the cursed edge of William's weapon.

The collision flung William backwards like a ragdoll. He crashed into the twisted remains of the tank, which exploded into flames around him.

Snarling, Hulk gripped the machete stuck in his palm, blood dripping from his knuckles. With a growl of frustration, he yanked it free, gripping the weapon with both hands. Veins bulged in his arms as he tried to snap it in half—but the blade didn't yield. Not even a scratch.

"RRRRAAAHHH!!" Hulk slammed the machete against his own thigh in rage. The leg was bruised. The blade remained pristine.

Bellowing in frustration, Hulk hurled the machete far into the air.

But high above, William hovered in the sky, suspended by unseen force. With a flick of his hand, the machete turned midair and sliced back into his grip like a loyal hound returning to its master.

Before Hulk could charge again, another voice called out like a clap of thunder:

"WILLIAM!"

Thor descended from the clouds in a streak of lightning, cape billowing behind him, Mjolnir crackling with divine fury.

William's gaze sharpened. "You again."

This time, he didn't dodge. He held his machete forward as it shifted and morphed—into a dark, ominous shield.

"HAAA!" William roared as Thor brought Mjolnir crashing down.

CLANG!

The impact rang like a bell of war, thunder clashing against shadow. The force burst outward in a shockwave, throwing debris in all directions. Thor was flung backward, skidding across the battlefield with a grunt.

A crisp collision sound was heard, and the hammer hit the shield.

From the ground, Thor winced and shouted, "Why does that shield feel like Rogers'?!"

William looked down at the weapon in his hand, smirking. "Didn't Steve ever mention? This shield... was forged from the same god-kissed ore but mine is better."

The God of Thunder's eyes narrowed. "That explains the sting."

Suddenly, a glow flared behind William.

"William—" came a calm voice, edged with resolve.

Tony Stark hovered silently behind him, his arc reactor glowing with intensity. A focused energy unibeam shot from his chestplate, slamming into William's back in a pillar of white-hot light.

The explosion rocked the sky.

But as the smoke cleared... William stood unharmed. The shield had turned back into a machete mid-strike.

"Tony Stark," William said without turning, his tone ice-cold. "Sneaking up behind me? That's not very heroic."

He spun, slicing through the remnants of the energy blast as if swatting away a breeze. Sparks danced across the air.

Tony's mask pulled back slightly, revealing narrowed eyes. "You've done enough damage. You're a threat to everyone here. And I've had it with gods and monsters thinking they're above the rest of us."

"Oh?" William floated closer, his aura pulsing with dread. "You want me dead? Then come, man of metal. Let's see if your suit can keep up with your arrogance."

Tony didn't back down. Instead, he surged forward with full repulsor force, as every booster in his suit activated at full power creating multiple sonic booms, he was blasting toward William like a missile.

"WILLIAM!" he shouted. "This ends now!"

BOOM!

The collision of William and Iron Man's fists created a sonic shockwave that blasted through the battlefield like a hurricane. The very air trembled from the force, and the ground beneath them cracked like shattered glass.

Then came the scream.

It was sharp, agonized — unmistakably human.

Iron Man screamed in torment as his armored body spiraled out of control, crashing to the ground like a broken meteor. Blood sprayed violently from his shoulder, painting the earth beneath him a vivid, horrific crimson. His left arm — severed cleanly — clattered beside him in a twisted heap of shattered tech armor metal and mangled flesh.

"STARK!" Thor bellowed, his voice a thunderclap.

"Tony!" Hawkeye's eyes widened in disbelief, fingers tightening around his bow.

Iron Man writhed on the ground, howling through the pain, "W-William… hahahaha! You'll die, you hear me?! You're already dead! He'll rip you apart!"

His eyes blazed with unhinged fanaticism as he coughed blood.

William landed gently nearby, like a god descending from the heavens. He didn't bother to hide his disdain. "Who gave you that delusion?" he said coldly. "Whether I die or not… is in the far future. But you? You might die in the next second."

Tony's eyes twitched. "You don't get it, do you?" he croaked, voice seething with madness. "The Lord is watching. I won't die. I can't die. He's the Omega. The End. The Beginning. He chose me."

The way he said "the Lord" sent a chill through Thor and Hawkeye. Something was wrong — deeply wrong. Stark wasn't talking like himself anymore. He sounded… converted.

William narrowed his eyes, then exhaled, almost with pity. "I see now," he muttered. "You're no longer a man. You've become someone's dog. A pet with a broken leash."

"A worm like you can't understand his greatness!" Stark screamed, laughing through the blood leaking from his lips. "You're all worms! He sees you… and he's coming!"

William's lips curled into a smirk. "Then I'll cut him down the same way I cut you."

ROOOOOAAAARRRR!

The battlefield shook as Volcanicus crashed in like a walking apocalypse — a steel behemoth, its footsteps craters, its breath death. Trees, cars, buildings — all were reduced to rubble in its wake.

A torrent of flames spewed from the monstrous machine-dinosaur's jaws, incinerating everything in its path. People screamed, some only half-formed sounds before being vaporized by the inferno.

William blinked out of sight — and reappeared atop the Volcanicus. Alice and Aida were already there, eyes glinting coldly as fire raged below.

"The wormhole's still open," Aida said, gesturing to the gaping rift in the sky. "As long as it stays that way, the Chitauri will keep flooding through. It's endless."

William's grin widened into something cruel. "Good," he whispered. "Let the chaos spread. I want to see this city drown in blood and smoke."

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Fighter jets descended from above, missiles screaming down toward Volcanicus. They hit the metal giant with thunderous fury, shaking buildings with every impact.

"Pests," William sneered. "Volcanicus, exterminate them."

The machine's body shifted — panels opened across its sides, revealing hundreds of hidden launch ports.

SHHHHRRRRRRRRAAAANG—

A swarm of missiles roared into the sky like a biblical plague of fire. They spun outward, faster than human eyes could follow, blanketing the city like a death storm.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sky turned into a battlefield of fireworks. One moment, fighter jets soared — the next, they were flaming carcasses raining from the skies. Screams filled the air. Pilots died in seconds, their bodies reduced to chunks falling like hellish confetti.

From the ground, it looked like a divine punishment — a rain of blood and fire.

Alice watched impassively, her blonde hair fluttering in the heat of the explosions. "If this keeps up, New York will be nothing but dust and bones."

Aida gave a short nod, her voice like a whisper of death. "This… is not our city anymore. It belongs to war now."

But William laughed — deep, cold, full of twisted joy. "There is a dark side deep in people's hearts," he said. "It longing for release and longing for destruction, especially for beautiful things."

With a deafening crack, the Empire State Building — proud symbol of the city — exploded into rubble as Volcanicus slammed its armored tail through it. Debris crushed dozens below. Blood and concrete mixed as bodies were pulped under stone.

Alice didn't even blink. "That was… kind of beautiful."

William stepped forward, raising his black blade to the burning sky. "Then let's make the rest of the world just as beautiful."
