Chapter 12 - Goblin Gifts

The Sun had risen and was just getting underway in its journey across the sky when the contestants and spectators began filling back into the clearing, Nebbie had only made one additional tree bridge before realizing any others he made would have issues seeing past the champions bridge or the new one he had made.

To solve the Problem he had instead had the Goblins assist him in making more wooden benches that he coated first in sticky thread than in his third and final style of thread, he coated them in fluffy threats that turned the seats all into one massive cushion, leaving it at least with a more comfortable seating arrangement.

Having finished faster than planned due to the change of tactic Nebbie and his Goblin squad had started marking out the edge of where the ring expansion would be, its new placement left the Champion bridge to dangle slightly over the ring, making for what he felt was a more exciting viewing experience, the new size also pressed the ring against the wall, and he decided he'd deal with it once the first round was done.

The ones who had thus far won a match easily made their way up to the champion Bridge as Ginger called them all out one at a time, once the Ogre who had won the last match of the previous day took his seat on the bridge Ginger called the contestants who had yet to participate to the same area they had been at the previous day, now featuring a long bench and a Goblin serving water from a selection of old wine barrel the Goblins had apparently gotten in a trade a few years back.

With the Wine long gone they had converted the barrels into Water storage for Winter, from what Nebbie could see more of the Goblins had come from their home and brought some of the barrels in good faith for the festivities, likewise he could see more trees being cleared out as some monsters started setting up small stalls and offering food for trade.

A Troll traded a small collection of smooth rocks for a large fish from an Otter woman, Nebbie walked up to Ginger and whispered in her ear.

"This is your first call," GInger called out to the crowd, "Only Ten minutes before the Tournament starts back up, get your food and drinks now before you risk missing the action,"

At her call a few of the winners hopped off the bridge and made a last minute food and drink call since they now had a confirmed time for the event to start, Nebbie was about to join them when Ginger tugged on his arm and offered him a box.

"Um..I…I made this for you," She said, slightly red faced as Nebbie took the Box, he opened it up and found a large Cup with a screw on lid and a built in straw, "So you can stay hydrated while you watch the games,"

"Oh I love it," Nebbie cheered, despite his mothers best attempts Nebbie had never managed to get his hands on anything that wasn't a hand me down of some kind, even Mary hadn't been able to get a present into Nebbies hands without James snatching it away at the first opportunity if it was anything less than well used.

Despite himself, Nebbie pulled Ginger into a hug before putting her back down and patting her head, "I'll treasure it forever," He promised her as he made his way over to the Goblin pouring water, when it was his turn he was given not only water but another Box, before he could even try to open it more Goblins began pushing presents on him.

Not entirely sure how or why he had won the hearts of the Goblin race, Nebbie was forced to stay on the ground as he opened several dozen presents.

Just about everything he was given seemed to be in response to his own poor craftsmanship on his outfits as he received heaps of clothing that he was somewhat worried about, mostly pondering when and how they had measured him for them.

Having nowhere near enough room in his storage box Nebbie had to get creative in how he dealt with the presents as he slipped on a pair of loose pants, it had been years since he'd had proper pants, and he kind of missed his dress but he doubted it would do anything but hinder his movements as he undid her cloak to try on a shirt, getting more than a few wondering eyes, that turned to disappointed upon seeing his womanly natural body shape didn't reach his chest.

He tried on an oddly shaped tank-top from the selection that had fully open sides from the shoulder to the hips, picking it above the others since he didn't have to worry about ripping the sides out, his extra arms had seemingly ceased to exist but he bet he could summon them back if desired, the caption Goblin King was on the chest of the shirt.

Hoping it was just a fun shirt design and not him walking into some oath to rule all Goblins under the mountain he used his poorly crafted blanket cloak for present storage after emptying his item box and doing a quick patch job over the neck hole he had made, he receive a mountain of garments all fitted to his Beast-man body fairly nicely.

Along with a fine selection of pants and shirts, he also received some wrist bralets, being told by the goblin who handed them off ,that was visibly pleased at having been one of the few to come up with a unique item as a gift, that they were more style over function, simple leather, wrapped in cloth, and with some white fur inner lining that popped out at the end, making him look just a little wilder.

Apparently not having cobbler under their list of achievements he received no shoes but did get a few more hand crafted objects, a few necklaces with wooden beads in different shapes and sizes, and a few wooden combs for his fur.

Once everything was handed out the Goblins all scattered to the winds as Nebbie managed to fill his cup and take his place on the sky bridge as the time came for the second half of round one to begin.

"Let's get this started right!" Ginger called out to the cheers of the crowd that only grew louder when she declared the opening act. "Lets Have Hellanor take the stage!"
