Lin Mohan was far more direct than Lin Moyu—one word out of tune and she'd draw her sword. With the tip aimed at Calamity Supreme Purple Star, she showed not a trace of fear. Daos couldn't be used here, so Lin Mohan couldn't wield Sword Dao either, but her flesh outclassed Purple Star's by a margin. As a Great Sword Sovereign, wherever her blade pointed, nothing stood in its way; she never thought of retreat, only of advancing.
Lin Mohan said, "Back at the Western Extreme, that one blocked ten of my strikes. I wonder, Fellow Daoist Purple Star—how many can you block?"
Purple Star's face grew uglier; she really wasn't sure she could fight Lin Mohan here. In the Chaotic Ancient Wilds, she wouldn't fear her, but not in this place. She fell silent—she knew a few more words and Lin Mohan would act. Hearing Lin Mohan's lilting laugh, Purple Star's old face turned liver-colored; in the end she squeezed out two words: "Madwoman."
Lin Moyu gave a thumbs-up. "Big Sis is mighty."
Lin Mohan chuckled. "This is nothing. If Xiaoyu wants to do something, your big sister backs you to the hilt."
Lin Moyu asked, "But Sis, I do want to know—what are you doing here?"
Purple Star blurted, "Can't be said."
Lin Mohan shot back at once: "What's unsayable? Whatever we say here, who can hear it? Or are you saying even Xiaoyu can't be told what we're doing? If we're going to sneak around, at least have the guts to do it openly."
Purple Star was momentarily speechless and said no more. Lin Mohan was right—who would know what they said here?
Lin Mohan said, "This place is called the Divine Lotus World—its 'world' is equivalent to our Chaotic Ancient Wilds. We don't know why it was destroyed; only ruins remain. The ruins nurtured many strange monsters. Kill them and you get a crystal with a tiny, insignificant trace of Primordial Dawn Qi. By the way, Xiaoyu, do you know Primordial Dawn Qi?"
Purple Star snorted. "How could he know Primordial Dawn Qi?" In her eyes Lin Moyu was merely Chaos Realm great-completion; even if he had strong battle power and could find this place, his realm hadn't changed—someone at that level couldn't possibly have touched such secrets.
Lin Mohan said, "If you don't know, it's fine—big sister will explain. Simply put, Primordial Dawn Qi is a qi born at the beginning of a world's evolution. Many mighty beings back then were powerful because of it. Now the Chaotic Ancient Wilds has none left. If we want to break past Calamity Supreme and go further, we need enough Primordial Dawn Qi."
Lin Moyu said, "There should still be some in the deepest reaches of the Ancient Wilds."
Lin Mohan nodded. "Yes, but it's too dangerous. Outside those deepest reaches, getting Primordial Dawn Qi is far too hard. We stumbled on this place. Perhaps—" She paused. "Wait, Xiaoyu—how do you know the deepest reaches have Primordial Dawn Qi?"
Lin Moyu said, "I've been there."
Lin Mohan's expression changed sharply; even she couldn't keep her usual composure. "How did you go there? It's dangerous."
Lin Moyu said, "It was fine—actually not that dangerous."
Purple Star said, "You went to the Ancient Wilds' deepest reaches? At least make up something plausible." Her tone dripped with scorn.
Lin Moyu said, "As a senior, Calamity Supreme Purple Star, you should remain composed. Even if Daos are suppressed here and your Dao-heart is clouded, this isn't how you should be. If you want to take another step yet can't hold your own Dao-heart, that step will be difficult indeed."
Stung, Purple Star's face flushed and paled by turns—almost comical—yet she couldn't retort; Lin Moyu spoke truth. A Calamity Supreme shouldn't talk like that; such jeering befits the small-minded. Even if she believed he couldn't have gone, she shouldn't have said so. That said—these two siblings were both mad; neither easy to deal with.
Lin Mohan said, "The Ancient Wilds' deepest reaches are too dangerous. This place is dangerous too, but better than that. And someone there is watching like a tiger—going isn't convenient."
Purple Star spoke again: "Sword Sovereign, watch your words."
Lin Mohan laughed lightly. "What about my words? I said no one can hear us here. If Calamity Supreme Purple Star is this timid, how will you oppose him? Wouldn't it be better to just be an obedient chess piece?"
Roasted again, Purple Star was near exploding, but faced with that sword tip, she chose to endure.
At first Lin Moyu didn't know whom they feared; now, from those words, he understood: not Dao, but Calamity Supreme Tianzai. They knew he lived, and that he had made Lin Moyu a chess piece. They wanted to resist, but how many people were drawn into resisting Tianzai they did not know. Bóyáng Calamity Supreme was likely among them; whether Baizhong Calamity Supreme was involved was unclear. The situation seemed more complicated—and more interesting. To Lin Moyu, none of it mattered: whoever it was, if his strength was enough, one punch would shatter it. Moreover, as the Calamity-Bearer, under world rules he'd sooner or later be everyone's target; likewise, he didn't care—one punch to annihilate.
With things said to this point, Lin Moyu didn't like playing coy. Indeed, he couldn't hear here, so they could speak freely.
Lin Mohan was surprised. "Xiaoyu knows?"
Purple Star clearly didn't believe it. "How could you know?"
Lin Moyu smiled. "I know a bit. You mean Calamity Supreme Tianzai, right?"
Purple Star was shocked. "You actually do know."
Lin Mohan praised, "Little brother is indeed remarkable—he even knows this."
Purple Star still couldn't believe it, but this time she was smart enough to shut up.
Lin Moyu smiled. "By chance, I learned. He treats me as a chess piece—he just didn't expect this piece to disobey. So, Sis, you want to use Primordial Dawn Qi to take that step to oppose him, right?"
At the mention of Tianzai, Lin Mohan grew solemn. "Yes. Back then Brother Tianzai's plotting was far-reaching. We joined to oppose Dao, laying a heaven-shaking scheme. We willingly entered the game with our lives; Brother Tianzai even sacrificed himself—we all admired him. We didn't expect his 'sacrifice' was false, and we entering the game as pieces was true. Fortunately, by accident we found the Divine Lotus World, and gained a sliver of chance."
Lin Moyu was about to ask more when the void shuddered violently, heaven and earth quaking. Lin Mohan turned—far away a huge dark shadow appeared; an immense aura surged toward them; the whole space seemed to solidify. Purple Star's face changed. "It's the Godspring Beast King. We need to activate the Divine Lotus Battle Formation, but it takes time."
Lin Mohan said, "I'll stall it."
Lin Moyu stopped her. "Leave it to me—don't disturb them." He flew alone toward the Beast King.
Purple Star watched him go, something odd in her eyes. "You're not stopping him?"
Lin Mohan also watched—but full of confidence. "Xiaoyu never does anything he isn't sure of."
Purple Star snorted. "He doesn't know his limits. What does he think this place is? Think coming here makes him great?"
Lin Mohan laughed lightly. "Xiaoyu has always been great." No one understood him better than she.
The so-called Godspring Beast King had a fountain atop its head, endlessly gushing water from who knows where. It looked like a mountain—huge, a hundred meters at least. In the Chaotic Ancient Wilds that size is nothing, but in this realm-ruin it's immense. Though the world is shattered, some rules remain: the larger the body, the stronger. The Beast King's aura was near Calamity Supreme level. Here, with their power limited, Purple Star and Lin Mohan would find it hard to handle one-on-one, which is why she wanted to use the formation. But to Lin Moyu, the Beast King's power didn't count for much.
Charging straight in, he faced the Beast King. Before it could act, his fist was already out. The void shook; a kilometer-wide fist coalesced and smashed into the Beast King like a falling mountain. The Beast King, as if bound, stood dumbly in midair and took the blow. A terrifying shockwave rippled in all directions; the ruin's space twisted and warped. The Divine Lotus Battle Formation auto-activated, warding off the storm-like spatial surges; the lotus reeled repeatedly, like a lone skiff in the waves.
With one punch, the Beast King's body shattered into dust; only a slightly larger Primordial Dawn Crystal remained in the void.
Purple Star's face ran the gamut—she couldn't believe his strength. Lin Mohan's smile bloomed with confidence. "Xiaoyu is, of course, strong—he's never been weak." As his elder sister, she had always been proud of him.
One punch to kill the Beast King—this foe Purple Star found so difficult just died. Lin Moyu put away the crystal and flew back to the Divine Lotus formation. Even activated, it couldn't block him; to Lin Moyu, any formation was nearly the same as nothing.
After he returned, Purple Star's expression was complicated—her heart likewise. The arrogance in her gaze was gone. She understood clearly: here, she was far from Lin Moyu's match; if it came to blows, he could kill her. Her Dao-heart might be shaken, but her eyes weren't blind—his flesh and soul had grown unimaginably strong. That punch wasn't only physical; even more, it was soul—his soul had bound the Beast King, leaving it unable to flee, only to wait—
Lin Mohan didn't stint on praise. "Xiaoyu, you're amazing—already stronger than your sister."
Lin Moyu said, "Back to the topic. Why did Calamity Supreme Tianzai choose me, and how did you become my sister? I've always been curious."
Lin Mohan said, "At the time we searched throughout the Ancient Wilds and indeed found some good things. One was called the Wheel of Fate, containing the Fate Dao—a Fate Dao born of the world's natural evolution, stronger than the Destiny Venerable's Fate Dao back then. Using the Wheel of Fate as the base, the Destiny Venerable laid a great formation, using his own essence blood as the guide and Dao as the offering to derive Brother Tianzai's layout. He obtained much information, and that derivation decided the later course of many things—including your fate. We learned you would appear at a certain time and become the core of the whole layout. As to why, we didn't know—but it didn't matter. Then Brother Tianzai used another artifact, the Bloodline Covenant Key. At the last moment, the Destiny Venerable bound my fate to yours. But to bind me to you, he paid a heavy price and ultimately had to dissolve his body and reincarnate."
Lin Moyu understood: the entire scheme led by Calamity Supreme Tianzai had him as the core—calculated by fate as the one who could complete it. But a person predicted by fate is illusory; how to lock onto him is difficult. Thus, Lin Mohan entered the game with her own life—paid with dissolution and reincarnation—to tie herself to the unknown, future, entirely virtual him. When she reincarnated successfully, they would know of his birth. Hence the bloodline resonance between them; as his strength rose, Lin Mohan benefited. Now, that resonance had reached its limit; Lin Mohan had returned to her identity as Great Sword Sovereign, back at her peak. Though it was a scheme, at her initial reincarnation she had no past memories; she grew together with him—their sibling bond was real and unchanged. Even after recovering her memories, she remained so; so when anything happens, she stands firmly by him—even if it affects her taking that step. Lin Moyu understood—he would do the same.
Lin Moyu asked, "Then how did you know Calamity Supreme Tianzai wasn't dead?"
Lin Mohan said, "It wasn't me—Bóyáng Calamity Supreme discovered it. He once chanced upon an artifact called Gap-Seeker, which can find the gaps in all things—a treasure-finding treasure. Using Gap-Seeker, he gathered several supreme artifacts; among them was one from the deepest reaches of the Ancient Wilds, bearing the power of time and recording some events there. From it, Bóyáng saw Tianzai hadn't died—he was hunting beings in those deepest reaches. He also guessed at the scheme within the scheme Tianzai had set. By coincidence, Tianzai's supposedly flawless plan was thus exposed. Bóyáng didn't immediately unmask him; knowing the stakes, he began his own quiet planning. He didn't want to fight Tianzai—he just didn't want to be played, and wanted self-protection later."
Lin Moyu said, "So this world was also found via the Gap-Seeker. But how did you know this world was useful to you?"
Lin Mohan said, "That question is for Calamity Supreme Purple Star."
Lin Moyu looked over and said clearly, "Please enlighten us, Calamity Supreme."
After the Godspring Beast King episode, Purple Star's attitude toward Lin Moyu had clearly changed. She said quietly, "Because of the Divine Lotus…"
