Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: Wade Across Time and Space

"Master Ancient One..."

Doctor Strange knelt beside the Ancient One's body, complex emotions surging within him.

Though her exterior remained unscathed, her soul had long departed—leaving behind nothing more than an empty shell.

"You are the successor the Ancient One foresaw?" Agamotto examined Strange with a scrutinizing gaze, a hint of approval in his tone. "Not bad... She chose wisely."

Before Strange could respond, their bodies began to fade—slowly dissolving into nothingness before everyone's eyes.

Thanos had been captured. Dormammu was banished back to his own dimension. The demon legions were in full retreat.

It looked like another failure.

Mephisto clenched his fists in frustration.

This was the third time.

"Only one Demon Lord remains."

"Step aside," Mephisto declared coldly. "I'll handle this myself."

He specialized in dark magic and mind control—too many people would only complicate things.

But before he could act—

Crackle!

A half-spherical energy shield, crackling with electricity, suddenly materialized between Garus and Mephisto.

Both sides instinctively halted, their gazes turning toward the unexpected development.

As the sparks faded, a peculiar figure stood before them—a man in a red suit, dual katanas strapped to his back.

The newcomer turned to Garus, striking an exaggerated pose. "Hey! How was that for an entrance? Pretty badass, right?"

That voice, that posture...

Garus narrowed his eyes, realization dawning.

"Wade?"

"Ooh, you know me?" Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, straightened up, then turned his gaze to the towering demon behind him.

He tilted his head back, squinting.

"Wow. You're huge," he mused, tapping his chin. "Even if I jumped, I don't think I could stab you in the—"

Without finishing, Deadpool darted toward Mephisto, slipping right under his colossal frame.

The demon lord observed Wade with mild amusement, sensing no discernible power from the mercenary.

A mere human.

Yet… he didn't belong to this universe.

Interesting.

"Ahh, much better!" Wade stretched theatrically, letting out a sigh of exaggerated relief.

"Enough!" Mephisto, momentarily entertained, now scowled. He reached down, aiming to snatch the nuisance up like an insect.

Instead, he stomped down.

CRUNCH!

The ground trembled as Deadpool was reduced to a red-and-black pancake—flattened beneath Mephisto's colossal foot.

Mephisto glanced at the bloody smear with disdain, flicked his foot, and summoned a burst of hellfire to incinerate what remained.

He turned his attention back to the heroes, crimson lightning crackling in his grasp.

Garus' form shimmered—

One became two.

Two became four.

Four became eight.

Within moments, the sky was filled with countless versions of Garus.

Each was real. Each radiated immense power.

Time Stone magic.

A storm of protective barriers flickered into existence, intercepting Mephisto's lightning barrage.

Then—an assault.

Garus unleashed an icy tempest, the frost rapidly encasing Mephisto's hellfire-clad body.

Slowed. Vulnerable.

The cursed runeblade Frostmourne ignited with a prismatic glow—

Bolts of raw energy lanced through Mephisto, carving through his infernal flesh.

A silent scream—one felt in the soul—echoed through the battlefield.

Mephisto's body fractured.

Cracks deepened, widening.

"You will regret this," he snarled, his form unraveling.

Almost there—

Garus pressed the attack.

Thousands of versions of himself unleashed an onslaught—ice, death, shadow, blood magic—augmented by the Infinity Stones' might.

Minutes later, Mephisto's body shattered into countless fragments.

A spectral afterimage—a crimson, transparent soul—remained.

"Damn you, mortal!"

The disembodied Mephisto twisted toward the Hellgate, his spirit attempting to flee.

"I'll return! You—wait, what?! No!"

A force pulled him backward.

An unseen vortex—emanating from Garus' position—dragged him toward its center.

Mephisto struggled.

"No—let go of me!"

With a final, anguished wail, the Demon Lord was swallowed into Frostmourne's inner realm.

There, the sword's entity and the Soul Stone's will ensured his imprisonment.

Garus did not worry.

It was over.

A metallic clang broke the silence—

Tony Stark, clad in his Iron Man armor, landed beside him.

He retracted his helmet, exhaling sharply.

"Finally," Tony muttered. "It's over."

He paused, hesitating.

"Or is it?"

A sigh.

"Are we ever done? Because I swear, if another world-ending maniac shows up, I'm retiring."

Garus clapped a hand on Tony's shoulder.

"Do I look like a prophet?" he quipped. "All I know is, when someone threatens our world—we fight."

"Yeah, yeah," Tony grumbled. "Figures."

Then—

"Uh, guys?"

A voice—

Deadpool's voice.

"Where the hell am I? 'Cause this definitely ain't Earth."

Titan.

Or rather—what was left of it.

The shattered remains of the planet still retained breathable air and gravity, though no one knew why.

Tony's gaze shifted to the bizarre red-suited figure standing nearby.

"Who is that? And why haven't I seen him before?"

Tony strode toward Wade, frowning.

"Hey—Iron Guy!" Wade waved cheerfully. "Looks like you guys just had one hell of a fight. Did I jump into the future or something? Also, what was up with the big red dude?"

Above them, Kree warships stirred, recovering survivors from the fragmented landscape.

"We're on Titan," Tony explained.

"Wait—Titan?!" Wade smacked his wrist device.

"Dammit, this thing's busted! This isn't where I was supposed to go!"

He froze.

"Oh no."

"Oh no, no, no."

He groaned, rubbing his mask.

"Cable's definitely gonna want this back... and I definitely stole it..."

Tony exchanged a look with Garus.

"This guy seems really suspicious."

"Agreed."

Tony's armor shifted, forming a clamp that seized Deadpool's wrist.

"Hey, hey—let go! If you keep dragging me, I swear I'll disassemble you into scrap metal!" Wade protested.

CLANG!

He drew his katanas, slashing against Tony's armor—only to have the blades bounce off with a dull thud.

Annoyed, Tony shut his helmet, muting Wade's ranting.

"Oh, you think that'll stop me?"

Without hesitation, Wade raised his other katana—

And swung.

At his own arm.

Before he could escape, Garus' Death Grip yanked him backward, suspending him midair.

"Nice try," Garus mused.

His eyes glinted.

"Y'know… I've always wondered. If I cut you in half… would there be two of you?"

Tendrils of necrotic energy coiled around Deadpool, binding him as they boarded the Kree warship.
