Near six o'clock, Xia You and two waiters were still preparing to open the restaurant when footsteps sounded at the entrance.
Xia You, with tears in her eyes from chopping onions, called out to the newcomer, "Hello, we haven't opened for business yet. Please come back after six for your meal."
The spicy scent of onions still irritated her nose as she heard a pleasant laughter.
"I'm not here for a meal, I'm here to visit the new neighbors,"
Xia You stopped cutting and looked towards the newcomer. The warm light shone on the woman's face, her long curly hair covering most of her face. Xia You recognized her as the woman she had met that morning on her way out.
She remembered the woman's name... "Hello, Ms. Ding." Xia You extended her hand, then remembered she smelled of onions, stuck out her tongue embarrassingly, and quickly rinsed the onion residue from her hands.
